Readers deserve to know who stands behind the news they read. This page exists to hold that information. At this launch edition, we are being direct about its current state: detailed legal and ownership disclosures have not been finalized, and we will publish them here when they are.
What we will disclose
Once finalized, this page will describe, in plain language, the legal structure of the organization that publishes ABC 24 Times, who controls it, and how it is funded. We will also record any material change over time, with the date it took effect, so that the history stays visible instead of being overwritten.
Until then, we will not offer placeholders dressed up as facts. We are not naming owners, investors, entities, registration details or financial figures, because doing so before they are confirmed would be exactly the sort of unsupported claim our standards forbid.
How we intend to be funded
Our funding principles are fixed, even though the details are still being built:
- Readers first. Our long-term aim is to be supported by people who value the work, including through the planned Insider membership, which is not yet open.
- Newsletter sponsorship. We may carry clearly labeled sponsor messages in newsletters, kept separate from editorial content.
- No pay-for-coverage. Money does not buy stories, favorable tone, placement or silence. No exceptions.
We are not currently running third-party behavioral advertising. Our Ad Choices page covers the rules we will follow if that changes.
The firewall
The newsroom decides what to cover and how. Commercial staff and partners do not review, approve or direct editorial content. A sponsor or partner who contacts the newsroom seeking coverage is redirected to the appropriate commercial contact, and a story is never altered because of a commercial relationship. If a funder or sponsor ever becomes the subject of a story, we will disclose the relationship in that story.
What we do not claim
To avoid any misunderstanding, we do not claim awards, audience or subscriber figures, partnerships, licences or membership of any industry body. If any of those become true, we will say so on this page with enough detail for you to check.
Questions and corrections
If you have a question about our ownership or funding, write to [email protected]. Commercial and partnership inquiries go to [email protected], and we will state publicly if any such arrangement affects our coverage. If you think anything on this page is inaccurate, tell [email protected], and see our Editorial Standards and Corrections Policy for how we respond.
