ABC 24 Times does not currently run third-party behavioral advertising. That means no ad networks following you from site to site, no advertising cookies set by us, and no profile of your reading sold or shared for targeting. This page sets out where we stand now and the principles we intend to hold ourselves to if advertising or sponsorship arrives later.
Where things stand
The launch edition is largely ad-free. Any promotional space you see is a placeholder for the design, not a live ad sale. Because no ad technology is running, there is nothing to opt out of on this site at the moment. If that changes, this page will be updated before it does.
Principles for future advertising
- Always labeled. Paid placements will be clearly marked as advertising or sponsored, in words rather than only a small icon, and visually distinct from reporting.
- No pay-for-coverage. Advertisers and sponsors do not choose, preview, shape or kill stories. The newsroom and the commercial side stay separate.
- No cross-site tracking without consent. We will not enable tracking that follows readers across other sites unless you have knowingly agreed, and declining will not lock you out of reading.
- Contextual first. Where possible, ads would be matched to the topic of a page rather than to a profile of the person reading it.
- Reader experience matters. No auto-playing sound, no ads that block the text, no deceptive buttons.
Sponsored content
Should we publish sponsored material, it will carry a plain label naming the sponsor, appear apart from news and opinion, and be written or approved under a separate process from our journalism. Our Editorial Standards describe how we keep that line. A sponsor's money does not buy an endorsement from the newsroom.
Limiting ad tracking in general
Whatever sites you visit, you have tools. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies or send a do-not-track style signal, though not every site honors it. Many phones and operating systems let you reset or limit your advertising identifier. Content blockers and private browsing windows reduce tracking further. Industry opt-out pages run by advertising groups also exist; searching for your region's version is a reasonable starting point. These steps help across the web, not only here.
Advertisers and partners
Businesses interested in sponsorship or partnerships can write to [email protected]. We will share our labeling and independence rules at the start of any conversation, and we do not promise coverage in exchange for support. We cannot confirm availability or pricing at this stage.
