Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt responded to speculation that the relationship between tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift is all for publicity.

 

A touch of Taylor Swift‘s hand might have lit the fuse of a chain reaction of NFL counter moves, but this singer’s relationship is not the work of any mastermind.

Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt whole-heartedly shut down any speculation that the “You Belong With Me” singer’s relationship with tight end Travis Kelce is all for show.

“It was purely organic,” he told Mad Money‘s Jim Cramer Jan. 12. “When they first started dating, there were a lot of people saying, ‘Oh it’s a marketing stunt,’ but no it’s very real.”

Still, Clark was clear that the last few months have been a lavender haze for his team as Travis and Taylor’s relationship continues to blossom.

“It’s been a very interesting—very fun year having the two of them dating,” he added. “The attention that’s been focused on the Chiefs—our female audience has grown leaps and bounds.”

And aside from the extra publicity on Travis’ team this season, the 58-year-old also gushed on the 12-time Grammy winner in her own right.

“We’re so happy for Travis Kelce and Taylor and their relationship,” he continued. “I’ve had a chance to meet her at one of the many games that she’s attended this year and she’s just as sweet as she can be.”

The investor—who shares Gracie Hunt, 25, Knobel Hunt, 20, and Ava Hunt, 14, with wife Tavia—also revealed that he was a Swiftie even before Taylor was given a Chiefs Kingdom key.

“I also got to see her play here twice this past summer,” he divulged. “What an incredible performer—one of the most amazing artists of our time.”

This isn’t the first time Clark has shown his support for the “Anti-Hero” singer, either. In December, his family gifted her a $5000 Judith Leiber Swarovski microphone bag for her 34th birthday.

“Happy birthday to this queen!” Gracie wrote in a Dec. 13 Instagram post. “Bright, beautiful, beyond talented and engaging.”

And Taylor has made her allegiance toward her boyfriend’s team clear—attending 11 games so far this season. “Football is awesome, it turns out,” she said in her TIME Person of the Year article back in December. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”

Taylor Swift has been called a ‘sweetie pie’ by a worker at Highmark Stadium after the 12-time Grammy winner gifted her a $100 tip and a picture during her time in Buffalo.

 

Swift came to Western New York to watch her Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce play in the AFC Divisional round against the Buffalo Bills.

Jerris Rainey, a ticket taker for the luxury boxes at the stadium, ran into Swift and received the generous gift and photo, per ABC7 in Buffalo.

‘She’s a sweetie pie. Very down to Earth,’ Rainey told the television station.

‘I just wanted to just see her, and she stopped and she asked me if I worked at the stadium.’

‘I said yes, and she asked if she could give me a tip. And she gave me $100 and then she asked if I wanted to take a picture with her and I said yes,’ Rainey continued.

The pop star has been spotted tipping stadium workers well before, having done so at the Chiefs vs Patriots game a little more than a month ago.  

On Sunday, Swift was in a luxury box with several members of the Kelce family.

It meant a first-time ever meeting with Philadelphia Eagles center, and Travis’ older brother, Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie.

Swift has been at around a dozen of Kelce’s games since they started dating, with this weekend’s AFC Championship against the Ravens in Baltimore.

There has not been a clear indication as to whether Swift will make her way to Maryland, but she is expected to be an attendance.

Should the Chiefs defeat the Ravens, Kelce will be playing in his fourth Super Bowl, but first with Swift on his arm.

Swift’s Japanese dates of ‘The Eras Tour’ conclude from the Tokyo Dome on February 10, which will be plenty of time to fly to Las Vegas for the NFL championship game.

Kelce has won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs, including last season’s title over Swift’s hometown Philadelphia Eagles.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been dating since the summer, debuting their relationship in late September when the Eras Tour star made an appearance at Kelce’s game with his team the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The relationship since then has included lots of public displays of affection and football games. Things seem to be going well.

 

They’re going so well that a source has told Page Six that Kelce has allegedly asked Swift’s father Scott for permission to pop the question.

“Scott has been asked for his blessing and has wholeheartedly given it, and Travis has been talking to friends about a ring,” the insider claimed, adding he might have had it designed or purchased already.

The speed with which their relationship has progressed is supposedly a reflection of Kelce’s character, with the source saying he is “the most extroverted guy Taylor has dated in forever,” adding that it “is so much truer to who Taylor is than any prior relationship.”

Many of the Midnights singer’s previous relationships were more reserved, in particular her six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. They rarely appeared in public together and gave limited interviews on the topic. This is apparently not the musical artist’s preference.

“If Taylor wants to change the lyrics to her song after four months of dating and sing in front of 60,000 people…Travis will stand there beaming for the crowd—he’s digging it,” said the source. “Taylor finally has a partner willing and game. He’s like, ‘I’ll stand by the side of the stage and wait for you to jump in my arms—I’ll do that!’”

The NFL star attended Swift’s concert in Buenos Aires and sang along to many of her songs as she played. He also looked thrilled when she changed the lyrics to her song “Karma” to include lyrics about him and was there to greet her as she got off the stage with a big kiss. This is the opposite of her dynamic with Alwyn, according to another source.

“Joe would rather cut off his arm than go to Zero Bond,” they said.

A third insider stated, “Taylor is so in love. She just hasn’t been with a guy who is so excited and proud to be with her in so long. She’d gotten used to having to hide away and lay low whenever she’s been in a relationship.”

They said that this was an issue in the past with her boyfriend Calvin Harris as well, a DJ Swift dated from 2015 to 2016. He and Alwyn were both “BIG on hiding.”

“So she followed their lead,” the insider said. “But now she’s finally with someone who is appropriately like, ‘Holy s–t, I’m with Taylor Swift! Awesome!’ and she’s so delighted that she gets to be out in the world. Don’t forget, this is a girl who made out with Harry Styles in Times Square [on New Year’s Eve 2012] and posted pictures of her fling [actor Tom Hiddleston, in 2016] wearing an ‘I heart TS’ T-shirt. Low key isn’t actually her preferred vibe. But when it’s been at the insistence of the guy she’s with, she’s gone along with it.”

They added about the proposal rumors, “Whatever happens, all of Taylor’s friends are delighted for her.”

Taylor Swift got her girl squad together as she joined new BFF Brittany Mahomes and Cara Delevingne for a glitzy dinner in NYC on Tuesday.

The Bad Blood hitmaker, 34 – who reportedly became secretly engaged to boyfriend Travis Kelce on New Year’s Eve – looked as glamorous as ever as she grabbed a bite to eat at Nobu with her two close pals.

Taylor is known for close bond with her famous girl squad, also including the likes of Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, Zoë Kravitz and Miles Teller‘s wife Keleigh Sperry, and the group are often seen stepping out together for fun-filled nights on the town.

The Love Story singer’s outing on Tuesday also comes not long after speculation arose that both she and Kelce had become secretly engaged on New Year’s Eve.

The lovebirds had been spotted sharing a sweet kiss while ringing in 2024, but reportedly made a special milestone.

The anonymous creator of the DeuxMoi podcast broke the news of what she called a secret ‘engagement’ last week.

Taylor Swift’s stalker was arrested for the third time in five days after returning to the singer’s home and hiding in a dumpster outside her apartment.

David Crowe, 33, went back to the Bad Blood hitmaker’s residence in NYC on Wednesday just minutes after he was released from police custody.

According to the reports, the young man attempted to get in touch with Swift even though he was on supervised release and even though he was warned not to approach the singer’s home.

On Wednesday, following his Saturday and Monday escapades, David was charged with first-degree and second-degree harassment and fourth-degree stalking. After leaving the court, the 33-year-old went straight to Taylor’s Manhattan residence where he hid inside a dumpster and waited in ambush.

Crowe was soon spotted by concerned locals who called the police.

“I just saw him digging through this dumpster, taking out some blankets and then he just went and sat down on the loading dock a few doors down [from Swift’s home],” one resident told The New York Post.

After the police arrived at the scene, Crowe made a quick escape before turning himself in at the nearest precinct.

On Wednesday, prosecutors alleged that the man was spotted outside Swift’s home at least thirty times in just two months. They also claimed he insisted on speaking with the singer several times while bringing gifts for her.

“Officers were approached by multiple complainants who pointed out an emotionally disturbed male acting erratically at the location,” a source from law enforcement said.

“Once officers observed the male harassing multiple complainants, they took him to custody without further incidents, no injuries were reported.”

However, Smith is not convinced Kelce needs a high-profile wedding with Swift to propel himself to greater levels of stardom, highlighting that he is already a double Super Bowl champion and one of the greatest NFL tight ends of all time.

Analysis by Bloomberg finance experts suggests Taylor is now worth at least £890million — the equivalent of $1billion.

Taylor has been seriously savvy with her money since the dollars began rolling in, which has helped her enormous fortune sky-rocket.

She has invested a large amount of cash in an impressive property portfolio, which began in 2009 with a beachfront condo that she still owns today.

Taylor owns several homes in New York, including a mega 10-bed, 10-bathroom penthouse in the city’s uber trendy Tribeca neighbourhood.

She actually snapped up two neighbouring penthouses in 2014 before converting them into a giant one.

Taylor also owns a 1934 Beverly Hills mansion in Los Angeles, which sits in almost two acres of land and was first owned by movie producer Samuel Goldwyn.

The Cruel Summer star’s property has since been granted ‘landmark status’ by Beverly Hills City Council, much to Taylor’s delight.

Elsewhere, the US singer is believed to have splashed her cash on two private jets, including a £40million Gulfstream. There is even an Instagram account dedicated to tracking her planes.

Back on land, she has an impressive car collection too, including a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG and a Ferrari 458 Italia.

Last year, however, Taylor kept things real by driving around London in a no-frills Nissan Qashqai.

And she is also partial to shelling out on expensive cat breeds.

The animal lover owns three pedigree felines, called Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button – and one has a whopping bank balance.

That decision has earned her hundreds of millions and has helped her top the charts with seven albums since 2019.

Earlier this month, the singer topped the box office in the UK with The Eras Tour Film, which earned more than £76million globally in its opening weekend.

She will bring the tour to the UK next summer when she will perform ten sold-out stadium shows, as well as further dates across the world.

Next Friday she is expected to score her 11th No1 album in the UK with the re-recorded version of her hit album 1989, released yesterday and featuring the singles Shake It Off and Blank Space.

The only female solo artist to have had more No1s is Madonna with 12.

But Madonna, 65, has a smaller fortune and is estimated to be worth £700million.

Writing about the album on Instagram yesterday, Taylor said: “I was born in 1989, reinvented for the first time in 2014, and a part of me was reclaimed in 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so dearly.

“Never in my wildest dreams di­d I imagine the magic you would sprinkle on my life for so long.”

Thousands were left cringing after a bridesmaid told her best friend she wouldn’t be able to attend her wedding because she’s going to a Taylor Swift concert instead.

 

Jess, from Melbourne, has been frustrated by her guests dropping out of her wedding to see Taylor Swift who is performing on the same night on February 17.

Her best friend and bridesmaid Olivia broke the news that she would also be leaving the celebrations early to attend the superstar’s concert – and Jess did not take it well.

Olivia bought the tickets back in December and was ‘anxious’ to tell the bride even while shopping for bridesmaids dresses.

The heated exchange between the two friends played out on the Fifi, Fev and Nick Hit breakfast show on Wednesday.

Olivia was set to be a bridesmaid at her best friend Jess’ wedding however she had to break the news she would be skipping the event to go to Taylor Swift’s concert

‘Obviously the whole Taylor thing, we’ve been talking about it and you’ve been saying how annoying it is that people have been backing out,’ Olivia said.

‘But I haven’t told you I got tickets for the Saturday and this was done before Christmas. However, I was thinking of trying to compromise here and make it work.’

Olivia said she would ‘scoot off’ early and return to the reception after the concert. The wedding is in the Yarra Valley while Taylor Swift is an hour away in Melbourne.

Jess was in disbelief and asked whether her bridesmaid was playing a ‘prank’.

‘I feel really bad, I do but I have loved Taylor for so long, you are aware of this and you knew how hard it was to get tickets,’ Olivia replied.

But Jess flew off the handle slamming her friend for withholding the news and poking holes in her compromise.

‘You’ve known this before December and it’s three weeks until my wedding and you’re telling me now?’ she said.

‘I’m getting married in the Yarra Valley, how are you going to go to Taylor Swift and then come back? How is that even possible?’

Olivia was convinced her plan would work as she thought the show would only go for a couple of hours but one of the hosts pointed out Taylor performs for three.

‘You want to miss a part of my wedding to go to a Taylor Swift concert? You know how much this has been annoying me that people have been dropping out to go to her and you’ve known all along that you’re going to go to her concert,’ Jess said.

Olivia said she feels like a ‘bad friend’ before breaking down in tears.

‘She’s so angry at me, I feel awful. I’ve been meaning to tell you Jessie, I know but I’ve been so anxious about it and I know how much this wedding means to you,’ she said.

‘I’ve been there through every step of the way and even when we were trying on the bridesmaids dresses I was going to tell you but I don’t know you just paid and I got nervous.’

But Jess was having none of it.

‘I don’t even understand though you’ve gone and bought tickets on my wedding date. I’m not trying to be mean right now, I think I’m just angry before I’m even upset because I’m so stressed, it’s three weeks out,’ she said.

‘I want you there next to me on my day and you’re not going to be there.’

Host Fifi Box suggested Olivia skip the concert but she was hesitant calling it a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity.

Listeners were shocked by the bridesmaid’s deceit and told Jess to ‘get new friends’.

‘Tell her to go. And never call you again,’ one woman said.

‘This bride needs new friends. The friend defending her dog act by saying it’s a once in a lifetime chance, so is your best friends wedding,’ a second commented.

‘The fact that some of you are missing the fact that she would have know about the wedding way before this tour was released!’ a third pointed out.

‘Girl just swap your tickets with someone for one of the other nights. I love Taylor too but I’d never pick her over my best friend,’ someone suggested.

However some sided with Olivia with one saying: ‘I’m sorry but I would have gone to see Taylor too’.

‘Friendships come and go. Eras Tour is once on a lifetime. I know what I would do, but I would have told her sooner,’ another wrote.

As Taylor Swift’s N.F.L. adventure began in earnest at a Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 24, the reaction of the Fox broadcast crew — and much of the N.F.L. world in general — was summed up by Erin Andrews, a veteran sideline reporter.

“We all need to calm down,” Ms. Andrews said, shortly after Travis Kelce scored a second-half touchdown.

Ms. Andrews was making a nod to one of Ms. Swift’s songs, but she was also acknowledging how star-struck she and her colleagues were to have the world’s biggest pop star at Arrowhead Stadium to see her new love interest, Mr. Kelce, play for the Chiefs. Greg Olsen, the lead analyst on the broadcast, went as far as bragging that Ms. Swift had once liked one of his tweets.

While Ms. Swift’s presence dramatically expanded the audience for Chiefs games — Nielsen Media Research estimated an additional two million women watched Kansas City’s game on Oct. 1 — some backlash was inevitable. Ms. Swift joked about “pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads” in her Time Person of the Year profile, but she had run out of one-liners (and facial expressions) by the time the comedian Jo Koy, in a disastrous hosting gig at the Golden Globes, said: “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the N.F.L.? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”
