    The Former Golden State Warriors guard, after a long journey of speculations, finally made the decision for his next landing spot. Klay Thompson rejected a two-year, $48 million contract in lieu of a more significant income when he accepted a three-year, $50 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks. However, Klay’s father, Mychal Thompson, had a different plan for his son. According to the recent reports by NBA Insider Mark Medina, Mychal Thompson, on his sales pitch, made some bold statements about his son and his dream team. He mentioned that the Los Angeles Lakers was the perfect team for Klay as he grew up watching his favorite players, Kobe Bryant, and the Lakers.

    “I thought that would be a fitting end for Klay to play in Kobe’s uniform and for the franchise that Kobe represented. That would’ve been a nice bookend to his career. But it wasn’t meant to be, so be it.” Mychal Thompson said.

    According to StatMuse, Thompson averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 77 games in 2023-24.

    Klay Thompson’s Decision Leaves His Dad Disappointed

    The Lakers attempted to add Thompson to their roster, but he had other plans. Mychal expressed disappointment that Klay rejected the Lakers’ offer and accepted the Mavericks’ offer.     According to Chris Haynes, James has set a clear deadline for the Lakers’ front office to engage in discussions with the Portland Trail Blazers regarding Grant’s potential acquisition.

    “Bron is giving FO a week. The Lakers have had exploratory talks with Portland on Grant. I project they will make a significant move,” Haynes reported.

    If it materializes, Grant will be a substantial upgrade for the Lakers. This isn’t the first time Los Angeles has shown interest in Grant. Their admiration for him dates back to his tenure with the Detroit Pistons.

But I’ve been dealing with stuff like this my whole life, so it’s nothing different. It’s more amplified for sure, but I’ll get through it,” Bronny added.

    Fans Slam Bronny James’ for His Lying on Teaming Up With His Father

    Bronny James before that draft urged the NBA teams not to draft him for his father’s name. But behind the curtain, his agent Rich Paul reportedly reached out to all the teams to not draft him as the Los Angeles Lakers saved their draft pick for Bronny.

    Paul even claimed that if any team would draft Bronny, he would go to Australia. Hence, after Bronny’s recent take, the NBA fans again pointed their guns at Bronny for lying.

    Apart from Paul, LeBron James himself shared his intention to share the court with his son. Nevertheless, Bronny now can’t deny his father’s words. So, it’s safe to receive backlashes.

According to the most recent sources, the Chicago Bulls guard is not interested in signing a $13 million MLE. NBA expert Chris Haynes stated that both clubs would need to be resourceful with their salary space if they wanted to sign the six-time NBA All-Star, following reports that the Heat was among the teams interested in his talents.

    DeRozan’s name has been associated with the Lakers after their elimination from the Klay Thompson tournament. The 34-year-old signed a three-year, $50 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks, which included a player option.

    This meant LA had to turn their attention to the following well-known free agent quickly. However, a contract with DeMar DeRozan is still in the works. The Bulls were purportedly amenable to a sign-and-trade agreement with the Lakers in recent reports.

    At this point in his career, the player is more of a forward than a guard. Thus, he will try to sign and trade to increase his chances of signing a longer deal for the upcoming campaign.

    “The Lakers’ interest is genuine, and the Bulls are open to sign-and-trade possibilities, sources confirmed. But any sign-and-trade would have to be for at least three years and at less annual salary than what DeRozan wants.”

    The Bulls were where DeRozan played for the last three seasons. His season, which saw him average 24.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 79 games, is over. His efforts, meanwhile, did not result in Chicago qualifying for the playoffs. Recall that DeRozan and the Bulls last made it to the postseason in the 2021–2022 campaign.
