The Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James, are on a mission to restore their championship legacy by assembling a formidable team this offseason. Despite missing out on Klay Thompson for the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers remain determined to bolster their roster with top-tier talent.
DeMar DeRozan
According to Brian Windhorst, DeRozan is among the players LeBron James would endorse taking less money to bring to Los Angeles. DeRozan’s spectacular stats from last season with the Bulls, where he averaged 24 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game, make him a compelling target for the Lakers.
Tyus Jones
Tyus Jones emerges as another potential target for the Lakers, particularly as they seek a starting point guard. Jones is a sought-after lead guard in free agency who can bring valuable playmaking and shooting skills to the table. His ability to start or come off the bench could provide versatility and depth to the Lakers’ backcourt.
Jonas Valanciunas
To complement LeBron James’ leadership and playstyle, the Lakers can eye Jonas Valanciunas for his physicality and presence in the paint. He is known for his robust rebounding and defensive capabilities.
After starting all 82 games last season, the basketball star averaged 12.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Adding Valanciunas would provide the Lakers with a strong center who can defend the rim and dominate the boards.
