Shaquille O’Neal and the “Hawk Tuah” girl didn’t just meet up this past weekend, they spent some proper time together.

The former NBA center shared photos of himself with the new internet sensation this week, revealing he ran into her in Nashville, Tennessee. The images prompted lots of comments, with Shaq getting accused of shooting his shot.

TMZ has since learned that O’Neal has become an unofficial advisor of sorts as he gave Hailey Welch lots of tips on how to handle her newfound fame.

The Diesel is said to have advised Hailey to get a team to manage her, as she would encounter many people looking to take advantage of her.

According to said publication’s sources, Welch showed Shaq some of the nasty and hateful comments she got after her “Hawk Tuah” moment went viral.  In turn, he told her not to pay attention to her haters as none of them know her.

The pair also partied together at Jon Bon Jovi’s new spot in Music City.

Hailey had gotten on stage for a performance with Zach Bryan the night before, and once Shaq saw her, he had his team contact her so she could come to his DJ gig at Bon Jovi’s joint.

TMZ claims they spoke for around an hour before the four-time NBA champion brought her up to the DJ booth, prompting lots of excitement from the crowd. It wasn’t all fun, though, as he stepped on her foot at one point.

Shaq is the last person anyone wants stepping on their foot, but the “Hawk Tuah” girl didn’t break any bones.

It’s said she now considers him a friend and someone who has her best interest at heart.

Teammate: Scottie Pippen was better defender than Michael Jordan

Three-time NBA champion Bill Cartwright told Chicago sports historian Jack Silverstein that Scottie Pippen was a better defender than Michael Jordan.

Cartwright won three titles with Pippen and Jordan on the Chicago Bulls in 1991, 1992 and 1993.

“I think it was Pip because Pip could play more positions,” Cartwright said. “He was taller. Both pretty darn good. But Pip could guard the whole floor.”

Pippen is one of the best defenders in NBA history. He made 10 All-Defensive teams and won the 1994-95 steals title.

“Pip was a great worker,” Cartwright said. “When I first saw Pip in ’88 and ’89, he couldn’t shoot. I’m not even sure if he could make a 15-foot jump shot. But what he was was a really special athlete. He would lope up the floor and then all of sudden he’s past you and the guy who’s guarding him, he’s over the top of him dunking the ball. Extraordinary long. Great instincts. Probably became our best defender and offensively made his game better.

“Worked during the summer. Worked, worked, worked. Got stronger. Became a 3-point shooter. Pretty amazing story for a kid from from Arkansas. Pip was great. Great teammate.”

Jordan, arguably the greatest player of all time, made nine All-Defensive teams. He won the 1987-88 Defensive Player of the Year Award and three steals titles.

Pippen is seventh all-time in steals and 14th in steals per game, while Jordan is third in NBA history in steals per game and fourth in steals.

In two stints with the Bulls, Jordan averaged 31.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.9 blocks. He won MVPs, six Finals MVPs and 10 scoring titles.

Pippen also had two stints with the Bulls. He averaged 17.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.9 blocks. Pippen won the 1993-94 All-Star Game MVP Award.

The Bulls went 6-0 in the NBA Finals in the Jordan-Pippen era. They defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, Seattle SuperSonics and Utah Jazz (twice).

The Heat have a history of making the most of their mid-first-round selections, and this year they picked Kel’el Ware at No.15 in the NBA Draft. The rookie recently stirred controversy even before starting his NBA career by snubbing Michael Jordan from his NBA Mount Rushmore.

Ware shared his NBA Mount Rushmore during a recent appearance on ‘Miami Mic’d Up’ with Jeremy Chandler Tche. Unexpectedly, the rookie’s list did not include Michael Jordan.

Instead, Ware named Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, Anthony Edwards, and Bam Adebayo as his top four NBA players. The surprising moment came when Ware explained why he left Jordan off his list.

I would say MJ, but I heard that some of his stats were false,” Ware said.

Jordan’s 1988 Defensive Player of the Year Award has come under scrutiny. Scottie Pippen recently made a startling claim that NBA scorekeepers fabricated statistics to favor Jordan for the title.

It was completely unexpected from Pippen, especially considering they won six league championships and established themselves as one of the greatest duos in basketball history.

Kel’el Ware Signs a Four-Year Deal With Miami

Per Spotrac, Kel’el Ware signed a four-year, $22.5 million deal with the Heat. His contract includes a guaranteed $9.5 million at signing, with an average salary of approximately $5.6 million per year.

This deal currently makes Ware the sixth-highest-paid player on the Heat, which aligns with the rookie scale for the 15th overall draft selection.

After his standout season at Indiana, the star rookie earned the Heat’s trust. He averaged 15.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in his sophomore year, which helped him secure a spot on the second-team All-Big Ten.

Toni Kukoc On How Phil Jackson Punished Power Forwards And Centers Who Shot 3-Pointers

Toni Kukoc On How Phil Jackson Punished Power Forwards And Centers Who Shot 3-Pointers

Toni Kukoc played under Phil Jackson from 1993 to 1998 on the Chicago Bulls and he revealed that his former head coach used to put in place quite an interesting rule for big men on his team.

“When I tell this to people, they laugh because they think I’m not telling the truth,” Kukoc said. “Phil Jackson had his rules. Before every season, we got a book of rules and there it was written – if a power forward or center shot a 3-pointer (and if it was not a last-second shot) and missed it, it was a $500 fine… I was the only one among power forwards and centers who could shoot 3-pointers.”

Considering Kukoc was a solid three-point shooter, it wasn’t a surprise that he was exempt from this rule. The Croatian struggled from beyond the arc in his first two seasons under Jackson, but in his last three, he shot 37.0% from three, which was pretty good for the time.

If you look at the other bigs on the roster during that second three-peat for the Bulls, it isn’t too surprising that Jackson did not want them shooting from outside. You had the likes of Dennis Rodman, Luc Longley, and Bill Wennington in there and to say they were bad shooters would be an understatement.

Their job was to rebound, defend, and set screens for the likes of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. To their credit, they did that fairly well.

These rules by Jackson also show just how different the game was in the 1990s, compared to today. Now, if you are a big man who can’t/won’t shoot, it is a bit of a problem.

We see it with someone like Zach Edey, who has had a phenomenal college career, but scouts don’t hold him in high regard because he can’t shoot and wouldn’t be great at defending the perimeter. Had he been entering the league in the 1990s, he might have been viewed as one of the top prospects.

Toni Kukoc Called Michael Jordan The GOAT

The 55-year-old Kukoc has seen many great players in action over the years. As for who is the best, Kukoc hailed Jordan as the GOAT.

“Jordan is the best basketball player of all time. There is nothing that can be compared to him. Pippen is a great player. He did a lot of work. I’m sorry to see the state he’s in today. Steve Kerr is probably the best ‘three-pointer’ in history.

“When you don’t have anyone to pass the ball to, you pass it to Kerr and he hits a 3-pointer. What can I say about Rodman? He got angry with the opposing players when they didn’t play well enough, so after the game, he rode that exercise bike to tire himself out.

“Even Jordan needed a team to win rings, and the team needed a coach. I think only Phil Jackson could have worked with that group.”

I am not sure if Jackson was the only coach who could have worked with that group, but he certainly was an ideal fit. He knew how to manage those massive egos and had tremendous success as a result. As for Kukoc’s take on Jordan being the best, it wasn’t all that surprising considering the success they had together.

While Kukoc has a lot of respect for his former head coach and teammate, it hasn’t stopped him from being a bit critical of them. Kukoc said that Jordan and Jackson were not successful as Charlotte Hornets owner and New York Knicks president respectively and that is certainly true.

Billionaire Kylie Jenner Loves Not Paying for Things: Everything Is an ‘Opportunity to Make More Money’

She may be filthy rich, but Kylie Jenner still loves a good freebie. “She went to Paris recently, and it looked like she spared no expense,” a source says of the reality star, who’s worth close to a billion dollars, according to Forbes magazine.

“But she actually didn’t have to spend a dime on anything,” the insider adds. “In fact, she made a profit! She got paid to go to events, show up at trendy restaurants, wear specific pieces of jewelry — she was even paid to wear a certain nail polish. So while it looked like the trip cost her a fortune, she actually made money from it all.”

Everything to them is an opportunity to make more money, even a vacation that regular people pay for themselves. It’s a little sickening but, hey, more power to them.”

EXCLUSIVE: Jason Kelce and his spouse Kylie intend to “scale back” the amount of pictures they share of their 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren

Jason Kelce has no qualms about getting personal in public, from admitting online he doesn’t wash his feet to going shirtless at a playoff football game.

The former Philadelphia Eagles center was even the subject of a documentary, “Kelce,” spotlighting his family life and his high-profile decision over whether or not to retire after the 2022-2023 football season.

But his level of exposure has only increased since brother Travis Kelce struck up with Taylor Swift, a relationship they went public with in September 2023.

Now, devoted fans of the singer have adopted an interest in the Kelce family, especially Jason, his wife, Kylie, and his mom, Donna.

With so many new eyes watching, Jason Kelce tells TODAY.com that he and his wife are changing the way they approach posting online about their family life.

“We were showing a lot of our kids early on on the show, not a lot, but a few clips. And Kylie and I have made a conscious effort that we want to scale back a little bit there,” he says.

Jason and Kylie share three daughters: Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1, who was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 just weeks after her dad and uncle’s 2023 Super Bowl matchup. (Famously in the words of Wyatt, “Uncle Travvy winned” that game.)

The family prides themselves on being “as authentic and open as possible,” Jason Kelce says. In “Kelce,” the softer side of the NFL star is on display, with scenes of the offensive lineman reading to his young daughters, playing with them through injuries and offering them comfort after his Super Bowl loss.

“I think there’s a point where you know, showing the kids is good. But there’s another point where you don’t want to do too much of that,” he says. “For us, we’ve come to the realization, let’s not put them out there that much at this young of an age.”

Promoting his partnership with charcoal company Kingsford, Jason caught up with TODAY.com about his family life after announcing his retirement from the NFL, the smash success of “New Heights” and what it’s like being a common thread between sports-following fathers and pop-culture-loving daughters.

Jason Kelce’s ‘golden rule’ for ‘New Heights’

One of the most reliable sources of information on the Kelce family is “New Heights,” a weekly podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, which combines updates about their lives with hot topics from the football world.

The brothers have leaned into the new audiences reaped from Swift. For example, after Jason, Kylie and Travis were spotted in London for Swift’s “Eras Tour” shows — and more specifically after Travis hopped up on stage himself to be one of his girlfriend’s backup dancers — the official X account for the podcast teased a debrief of the buzzy weekend in the June 26 episode.

The account posted a graphic of the “New Heights” logo surrounded by British symbols (or should we say Easter eggs?) like a Union Jack, a Buckingham Palace guard, Big Ben and a cup of tea.

With so many new eyes watching, Jason Kelce tells TODAY.com that the brothers use the “golden rule” to decide what’s fair game to talk about on the podcast, versus what’s not.

“Obviously, there are boundaries within anybody’s life,” he says.

“You’re always navigating that, between your personal lives … what you want to share from a team perspective, when it’s acceptable, interactions you have with teammates, with friends, with coaches. There’s a line to balance,” he adds.

That line can be summed up as a form of the “golden rule”: Only share information you would be OK with having shared about you.

“If somebody else was sharing this information about us, how would we feel?” Jason Kelce says.

They also ask themselves: “Is there any way this is going to upset somebody by sharing a story or an anecdote?” and “Is this going to upset us, if it’s potentially something that we don’t want to share about our lives?”

But after answering those questions, the goal is to be “open,” something he credits the show’s success to.

“Ultimately, the show, I think that’s what makes it enjoyable is that it’s authentic, and it’s true, and it allows people to really see into the lives of what were two NFL players, now one NFL player,” he says.

    Life post-retirement

In March, after 13 seasons in the NFL, Jason Kelce announced his retirement with an emotional 45-minute speech, touching on his career highlights at the University of Cincinnati, the Eagles and the family milestones in between, leaving Travis Kelce wiping away tears.

With the NFL season kicking off Sept. 5 in Kansas City, he says he’s still adjusting to his life outside of being an NFL player, though he’s actually “more busy that I’ve ever been.”

“You figure it was going to be the opposite when you retire, but because of all these different opportunities and there’s been a lot of decisions that have had to been made,” he says.

In May, ESPN confirmed Jason Kelce will join the football pregame show “Monday Night Countdown” as an analyst next season.

The football star was also recently in Cannes for a festival where he spoke about the success of “New Heights,” before jet-setting to London for two nights of the “Eras Tour.”

    Before, football kept him “grounded.”

“It used to be, ‘I can’t do any of that stuff because I have football practice.’ So, you can’t go to L.A. to shoot a commercial. You can’t go to this place to go do a charitable outing,” he says.

Even though his days were filled with practice, games and other responsibilities, he was still based near the team and more importantly, near his family.

“I’ve actually probably spent more time doing other things than I’ve ever done,” he says. “But we’re in a really, really fortunate situation as a family. And we’re trying to make sure that we’re enjoying it and being in a moment, and I’m kind of learning how to saying ‘no’ a little bit better for sure.”

His partnership with Kingsford is one of those opportunities. The charcoal company will follow his “grilling journey” throughout the summer as he embraces a mantra that applies to both his life now and outdoor cooking: “Slow is king.”

“I’m trying to get better at grilling,” he says. “If I’m being honest, I’m not great at it right now.”

Jason Kelce holding a bag of Kingsford charcoal. (Courtesy Kingsford)

He associates grilling with his dad, Ed Kelce. Growing up, his dad would “grill anything” but his go-to was chicken wings, made specifically with his own sauce recipe.

“At one point he wanted to quit his job and go full time to try and make his chicken sauce popular and join that business,” he says. “My mom had to talk him out of spending millions of dollars and trying to make a barbecue sauce work.

“I think he always was a little bit upset that he never got to see that into fruition, but it was a necessary sacrifice where the family was at the time,” he adds with a laugh.

‘Being a father is the most important thing anyone can do’

Jason Kelce has witnessed his place in the spotlight change firsthand.

“For the beginning part of my career, the people that came up to me and tried to get pictures were these huge, fat, big, hairy guys, and now it’s 14 or 15 year old girls and women,” he says.

He attributes it to “pop culture” — read: Swift — and the documentary.

“Moms have also identified with Kylie very much,” he says.

The importance of family was something the Kelce brothers always tried to highlight, he says. They aim to make it clear on their podcast that “family is such an important foundation and part of our lives.”

He and Travis Kelce have since become the center of a Venn diagram between football fan fathers and Swiftie daughters. The phenomenon is visible through Cetaphil’s viral Super Bowl ad depicting dads and daughters watching a game together and Swift fans paying tribute to Jason Kelce’s career with emotional edits set to pop hits like “Long Live.”

Jason Kelce says the role and platform is “surreal.”

“For me, fatherhood is the most important thing in my life,” he says. “It’s really, really surreal to be in a position where you’re a unifying presence for that to take place and I think it’s it’s something that’s not taken lightly.”

He says he recognizes the stakes.

“We obviously realize the tremendous privilege and position we’ve been pressed in, and we’re trying to, you know, all we want is—,” he starts.

“I don’t know, I don’t know how to say that,” he adds, before reiterating, “Being a father is the most important thing that anyone can do, or any man.”

Travis Kelce shared how Taylor Swift reacted to his original plan to join her on the Eras Tour stage, and why his final cameo was perfect. ..

Travis Kelce saw a blank space in Eras Tour choreography, and he wanted to write his name.

Indeed, the Kansas City Chiefs football player shared that it was him who suggested he join Taylor Swift on stage during her show. But his original vision was slightly different than what he ended up doing during her June 23 concert in London.

“I initially mentioned it to Tay,” he revealed to brother Jason Kelce during the July 3 episode of New Heights. “I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 album. That era.’”

An avowed 1989 fan, it’s not surprising Travis would suggest joining his girlfriend for that section of the show, but Taylor acquiesced with a different idea.

“She started laughing,” Travis continued. “She was like, ‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’ And I was like, ‘What? I would love to do that. Are you kidding me?’ I’ve seen the show enough, might as well put me to work here.”

And while the duo ended up having Travis join later in the show for The Tortured Poets Department set, the tight end was happy with the final performance.

“She found the perfect part of the show for me to come in,” he gushed, noting the flaws of his original idea. “There was no bike in case I ran into someone else or hit one of the dancers or anything. It was the safest option.”

Travis also couldn’t help but rave over Taylor’s two backup dancers, Kameron Saunders and Jan Ravnik, who helped him during his cameo—which occurred right between Taylor’s performances of “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.”

“It was such a fun, playful part of the show,” he added. “It was the perfect time for me to go up there and be a ham and have some fun not only with her, Kam and Jan but the crowd. Really try and get everyone excited for the rest of the show. It was awesome. Had an absolute blast.”

And since his cameo took place during a sequence of trying to “revive” Taylor to finish the show, the 34-year-old also got to show off some of his own personality during his time on stage.

“I always wanted to pull out this move, but I never knew when I should pull it out—like an area where it made sense,” Travis recalled of his Dumb and Dumber-inspired tap move. “That’s one of my favorite moves of all time.”

Overall, Travis couldn’t say enough good things about his Eras Tour appearance.

“I had so much fun,” he emphasized. “It was an honor being on stage obviously with Taylor but even Kam and Jan.”

While Travis is the only star to get to go on the Eras Tour stage, Taylor has had plenty of celebrity guests rooting for her from the bleachers—or VIP tent. Keep reading for every star who has attended the tour so far.

After showcasing his impressive weight loss in France, Jason Kelce signs tushes at a charity event in remembrance of the Eagles’ infamous offensive play call

Jason Kelce has signed a lot of autographs throughout his NFL career… although he will surely remember the last few he dished out after signing a couple of fake butts at a charity event this week.

On Wednesday, the 36-year-old retired Super Bowl champion was spotted inscribing his name on the rears of two Philadelphia Eagles fans in a moment they won’t forget anytime soon during the fourth annual ‘Jason Kelce Beach Bash’ at the Ocean Drive in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. The butts were on display to honor the Eagles’ ‘tush push.

For football fans who are unfamiliar with the play, the ‘tush push’ is a variant of the quarterback sneak created by the Eagles under Jalen Hurts, where the team’s O-line and other offensive players ‘push’ Hurts further than a normal QB sneak usually for a touchdown. Also known as the Brotherly Shove.

Jason played an integral part in the move over the course of his last two seasons on the Eagles, as the former center would snap the ball to Hurts near the end zone for his teammates to score.

He would even yell ‘F*** my life,’ during each ‘tush push,’ seconds before expecting to be squished by several big-bodied opponents, according to several reports from last season.

The ‘tush push,’ also known as the ‘Brotherly Shove’ due to his its Philly roots was popular while Jason was still on the team

‘Man, all the weight and everything lying up on top of you…’ Jason said about the play in an interview with NBC. ‘And you’ve got to wait for everybody else to get up before you can get up… It’s a grueling play, for sure. And, you know, if you do it right, you’re at the bottom.

[…] If, if you’re not at the bottom, it usually didn’t go well…’

Jason’s charity event was held to raise funds for the Eagles Autism Foundation, which he and his wife, Kylie, are proud to be a part of.

The former NFL’er’s wife was even seen belting out Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’ track at the event while impressively holding three full jugs of beer.

He also chugged a beer with event attendees — a common sight since last season’s playoffs

The Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast shared viral footage of the moment to its X account, with the caption: ‘Sing it Ky!!!’

Swifties went wild over the video, with many praising Kylie for the move.

We love a supportive sister in law,’ one fan posted, as another added, ‘Supportive in-laws >>>>>.’

‘She’s going to be the best sister-in-law (well, she already is),’ a third added, hinting at a potential future wedding between Kylie brother-in-law and the songstress.

‘Just two princesses supporting each other,’ one user chimed in, hailing both Kylie and Taylor as royalty.

Jason, who weighed 295lbs during his football days, also showed off his dramatic weight loss recently while in Cannes, France, with his brother and Chiefs star, Travis.

Tom Cruise was nowhere to be seen when daughter Suri Cruise graduated high school. The teenager got her diploma from New York’s LaGuardia High School on June 21 with mom Katie Holmes by her side, but the Top Gun star did not appear to be in attendance.

One day later, Tom, 61, popped up at Wembley Stadium in London, England, where he attended Taylor Swift’s Eras tour. He sat in a VIP section of the stadium and danced along to the pop star’s hit songs with Travis Kelce and other A-listers, including Hugh Grant, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

In her graduation pamphlet, Suri was reportedly listed as Suri Noelle, without her famous father’s last name included in the moniker. In May, her name was listed the same way on a casting sheet for her school’s theater production of Head Over Heels.

Tom and Suri have not been photographed together since January 2012. He and Katie separated that June and finalized their divorce the following month. Katie and Suri have been living in New York City while Tom keeps busy around the world with his movie career.

Ahead of her high school graduation, Suri revealed that she will be attending Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh this fall. She was also photographed heading to her high school prom on June 18, looking all grown up in a patterned dress and gold heels for the occasion. She appeared to have a date for the event, as photos showed a brown-haired male with his arm around her waist at one point in the evening.

While Tom keeps details of his relationship with Suri private, he appears to still be close with his older two kids, Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise, whom he shares with ex Nicole Kidman. Tom and Nicole, 57, were married in 1990 and adopted their two children during the relationship. They divorced in 2001.

In 2023, Tom was photographed attending a hockey game with Isabella, 31, and Connor, 29. The sighting shut down speculation that Bella was estranged from her famous father, which began after he did not attend her 2015 wedding to Max Parker. Nicole was also not there.

At the time, Bella insisted to the Daily Mail, “Of course [we talk]. They’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of s–t.” However, her husband also weighed in on whether it was difficult not having Tom there to walk Bella down the aisle, adding, “Yeah. It is what it is.”

Despite all the controversy surrounding his personal life, Tom looked at ease while attending the Eras tour. He had a big smile on his face throughout the evening and was seen chatting with Travis, 34, as they both showed off their dance moves to songs like “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off.”
