Leave it to Rihanna to make a newsboy cap look less “college literature professor” and more biker-chic.

The superstar took the controversial hat out for a spin in Shanghai this week to celebrate the launch of Fenti Beauty in China. Hers was not plaid and brownish, however, but was made from inky-black leather and pulled straight from Shanghai-based designer Mark Gong’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection. It was embellished with a little metallic silver M in the back, repping the brand.

The “Diamonds” singer wore the hat with other staples from Mark Gong’s most recent runway—namely, a matching black leather blazer and some baggy jeans. The blazer was smooth and shiny, and featured structured shoulders that jetted out to the sides. Adding to Rihanna’s biker look, the wide-leg pants had a vintage finish and geometric stitching details all along the legs.

On the runway, the look was worn without a shirt and with the jeans slouched down to the model’s hip, but Rihanna does things her way; the singer added a plunging black corset top and cinched the jeans up to her waist with a black belt featuring intricate silver hardware.
