Forbes has released its annual list of the most successful female entrepreneurs, executives, and entertainers in the United States, which includes big names such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey and many more.
Rihanna is the most successful self-made woman in music on the list, beating Swift to land at the overall 20th spot with a net worth of $1.4 billion, whereas the ‘Karma’ singer is the second most successful musical artist on the list, ranking at an overall number of 34 with a net worth of $740 million.
The ‘Diamonds’ singer has made most of her fortune through her makeup line Fenty Beauty, which was launched in 2017. She released her first new music in five years in 2022 for the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Her song ‘Lift Me Up’ was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song.
The singer recently stepped back into the spotlight for her first live performance in more than five years, taking the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show in February that gained more than 121 million viewers.
Swift, on the other hand, after releasing her album Midnights in October 2022, became the first artist in history to claim the top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 song list. She also had her record-breaking Eras tour this year.
The list is divided into various categories, however, among celebrities Oprah Winfrey tops the chart with a $2.5 billion net worth in the TV show category, following Rihanna from the music and cosmetic category.
The rest of the musician list includes Madonna, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Dolly Parton and Barbra Streisand.
Legally Blonde actor Reese Witherspoon is the only artist in the entertainment category with a net worth of $440m. The former television host, Ellen DeGeneres, also made it to the list with a $380 million net worth.
It also includes reality stars and business moguls Kim Kardashian with a $1.2 billion net worth and Kylie Jenner with a $680 million net worth. Kardashian is the third richest celebrity due to the several businesses she owns, such as private equity firm SKKY Partners, skincare line SKKN and shapewear label Skims.
