Her offbeat and often innovative sense of style has previously won her plaudits, but good taste appeared to abandon Rihanna on Thursday as she stepped out in a pair of garishly coloured socks.
The 26-year-old singer made an appearance outside her West Hollywood hotel, where she caught the eye in a sleeveless T-shirt decorated with a bold graphic print.
Rihanna matched the loose fitting top with a pair of cut off denim shorts that exposed her toned legs, but the multi-coloured socks, visible above her Converse boots, appeared to mar an otherwise seasonal ensemble.
The songstress completed her look with a jaunty baseball cap, while the flesh revealing nature of her outfit exposed some her numerous tattoos – amongst them the large henna inspired design on her right hand.
Her appearance followed an outing the previous night, when she traveled to the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica looking rather like Barbie.
She also put those famous legs on show as she wore a sports vest as a mini dress – the baggy number showed off a hint of sideboob as it skimmed her cleavage.
The hitmaker slipped her feet into a pair of sky high black suede court shoes, but added her own-twist by wearing them on top of a pair of transparent striped black and white socks.
Rihanna must be a huge fan of the restaurant as she dined there once again on Monday and once again turned heads for her choice of attire.
The superstar sported a black clutch embellished with the pattern of the weapon as she stepped out of her car.
Rihanna is no stranger to guns; the singer was seen at a shooting range in 2012, where she was spotted practicing her aim with a number of different firearms.
Next up for Rihanna, the chart-topper’s upcoming film Home is slated to hit US theatres on March 27.
Rihanna voices Tip, while fellow chart-topper Jennifer Lopez portrays Lucy.
The film focuses upon the relationship between a human named Tip and the alien Oh, who belongs to a planet-hopping alien race called the Boov, who are in search of a safe new planet to live on.
Tying her long locks into pigtails, Rihanna continued the sporty theme by wearing a black baseball cap, but there was no disguising the singer in that bright pink number.
Dressed to impress in a hot pink faux fur coat, the singer made sure all eyes were on her as she left the upmarket eatery.
