Michael Jordan and LeBron James have both established themselves as contenders in the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) debate. As recent discussions in the NBA world intensified over who deserves the title more, Michael Beasley shared his honest opinion, siding with LeBron.
During an appearance on “The OGs,” Beasley expressed his thoughts on the debate, throwing a subtle dig at Jordan fans by emphasizing James’ superiority.
“I feel like people that say Michael Jordan is the GOAT, like no disrespect, but y’all just holding on to old feelings,” Beasley said.

While Jordan won six rings during his NBA career, LeBron has won four so far. James may never surpass Jordan in terms of championships, but his level of athleticism at 39 years old strongly supports Beasley’s viewpoint.
“He’s got 40,000 [points] right now and counting. You’ve seen his résumé. We think we take care of our bodies, but he treats himself like a machine. He’ll be playing cards with us, and somebody will be there stretching him. How are you gonna sit here and say he’s not the best ever?” Beasley added.
The Majority of NBA Players Still Consider Michael Jordan the GOAT
The debate between Michael Jordan and LeBron James will never cease. To address this ongoing discussion, The Athletic conducted an anonymous poll to seek players’ opinions.
The Athletic surveyed 142 NBA players in the poll. The results revealed that the majority of players consider Michael Jordan the GOAT.
During his career, Jordan earned more MVPs, and received more All-Defensive Team honors compared to LeBron James. Despite trailing Jordan in these areas, the Lakers star has scored more points than Jordan.
In terms of longevity, James, who is on the way of a lucrative deal, continues to play at an elite level. This past season, he averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game. By contrast, Jordan’s averages at the same age were not as impressive.
