Oklahoma City Thunder Acquire Lakers Superstar Anthony Davis In Blockbuster Trade Proposal That Actually Makes Sense For Both Teams, Colin Cowherd Suggests

Colin Cowherd is renowned for making claims and statements that most sports fans and fellow analysts don’t agree with.
But this time, Colin Cowherd offered a fascinating trade proposal centering around Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis that feels like a win-win for all the parties involved.
The Lakers could lose franchise star LeBron James to free agency this offseason, as the 39-year-old is expected to opt out of his contract. Even if James stays, it’s obvious that the Lakers need a roster shake-up if they’re to compete next year.
Speaking on the latest edition of his “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” show, the veteran sports media personality proposed a trade in which the Lakers would send Davis to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace, and four first-round draft picks.
“23-year-old Jalen Williams, averaged 19 a game, his ceiling is probably closer to 25-26….he can defend. Cason Wallace, tremendous young defender, only 20. High ceiling…LeBron will get him up and running quickly. Four first-round picks…this is a lousy draft, try to get the next draft.”

The Thunder finished with the best record in the Western Conference (57-25), but were eliminated by Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks in the conference semis. The Lakers also endured a disappointing playoff elimination, having been easily dispatched by the defending champion Denver Nuggets in five games.
In adding Davis, the Thunder would have a “big three” with the future Hall of Famer, Chet Holmgren and young superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. And as Colin Cowherd pointed out, a young team like OKC needs another veteran star if they’re to compete with top teams like the Nuggets and Boston Celtics for a championship.
Colin Cowherd’s Trade Proposal Works For Both Sides
The Lakers’ championship window is quickly closing, whereas OKC’s is just opening. So for Davis, he’d be a big winner here if Los Angeles were to theoretically send him to a Thunder squad loaded with young talent.
The Purple and Gold, meanwhile, would be getting two young pieces to help now and in the post-LeBron era. And if they were to land a bundle of picks, the Lakers could always package some (or all) of them to make another blockbuster deal.
