Conversations with fellow directors made him realize that the sleepless nights and constant concern for capturing every shot were common experiences. Despite these challenges, Washington found the journey enjoyable, even expressing eagerness to embark on it again.

“It was the most frightening thing I’ve ever done in my life. I was so scared. It was like once I got going, I was fine. But when I talked to other directors I was like “do you get sleep when you’re directing? Cause I didn’t get any.” They said, no that never goes away you jump up in the middle of the night like “did I get that shot?” I had a lot of fun, a lot of fun. I would definitely do it again.”

Antwone Fisher is a compelling biographical drama that follows the journey of a young sailor, portrayed by Derek Luke. With the guidance of a Navy psychiatrist, played by Washington, the film delves into themes of healing, resilience, and the profound impact of human connections.
