Outfielder Giancarlo Stanton recently signed a record-breaking contract extension lasting up to 13 years, worth $325 million, with the Miami Marlins Club in the American Major League Baseball.

This new deal surpasses two previous record signings in baseball. In March 2014, Miguel Cabrera reached a $291 million contract for ten years with the Detroit Tigers Club. Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez won a ten-year contract worth $275 million with the York Yankees in 2008.

Stanton’s new contract is also worth more and lasts longer than the huge deals of some athletes in other sports. Boxer Floyd Mayweather pocketed $206 million thanks to a six-fight agreement over a 30-month period.

Earning a contract that broke many records, Stanton did not think he had won the lottery as some public opinion believed.
