Travis Kelce Exclusive Interview on ET

Travis Kelce is in awe of Taylor Swift’s ability to dissect and draw from various music genres — and that talent has made a lasting impression on the three-time Super Bowl champion.

The Kansas City Chiefs superstar opened up about how the Midnights singer’s taste in music has influenced him since he’s been dating the pop star, telling ET’s Nischelle Turner that watching a musical genius at work has been nothing short of an eye-opening experience for the self-described music junkie.

“It’s definitely been fun to experience her taste in music, for sure,” Kelce tells ET. “She’s so amazing at what she does. And to find that creativity to see where she likes to pull things from and just, really, how she listens to music is very eye-opening for me. It’s been fun to hear her take on it.”

Her music has rubbed off on him, there’s no doubt about it, and his friends know it all too well.

Just last week, while out playing a round of golf, his pal and former NBA star, Chandler Parsons, blasted Swift’s “Bad Blood” as he was getting ready to tee off on the golf course. But the stunt failed, because instead of throwing off his game, Kelce perfectly executed his swing. So much so, someone off camera joked, “Oh, no. This backfired.” Then, using his golf club as a guitar, Kelce faced the camera and then sang and danced along to the track.

This level of fandom and love is just one of the many ways Kelce has endorsed the Eras Tour. He’s marveled at her ability to deliver flawless performances hours on end in front of packed crowds night after night.

“Man, I’ll tell you what. The London shows, I think she’s at Wembley eight times, which is mind-blowing that she can do that many shows in one stadium and fill that thing up,” Kelce gushed. “I played at Wembley once and I don’t even think we filled that thing up.”

It’s true.

Swift, who later this month is dropping her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, will perform at London’s 90,000-seat-Wembley Stadium on June 21-23 and then again on Aug. 15-19. Every show is sold out. Meanwhile, Kelce and the Chiefs played the Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium in November 2015. But while the Chiefs trampled the Lions, 45-10, in that London showcase, they couldn’t sell out the game, drawing only 83,624.

“She’ll be all over Europe,” Kelce added. “There won’t be a bad show, I promise you that.”

While Kelce’s already soaked up the Eras Tour in Argentina, Sydney, Australia and Singapore, inquiring minds wanted to know if he’ll pack his bags and make the trek across the pond.

“Oh, you know I gotta go support,” he tells ET. “You know it.”

He’s proven that time and again, showing her support. What’s more, it’s a two-way street, regardless of their exhausting schedules.

“We’re both very career-driven. We both love what we do, and any chance that I can show my support to her — and knowing that she’s showing me all the support in the world throughout the season — it’s just been an amazing experience getting to know Tay,” Kelce said.

It’s been a fun offseason for Kelce — from celebrating a Super Bowl win to going on vacay with Swift in the Bahamas and then Los Angeles. Following those trips, a source told ET that “Taylor and Travis are soaking up their downtime together. They are appreciating the here and now and the love they share with one other. When they’re able to just chill out, they love to hang out with their friends and family, travel, see new things together, and enjoy their privacy.”

The source added, “They are grateful to have each other along for the ride and advocate and support each other across the board. While they’re enjoying this moment, they’re looking forward to what the future holds too. They want to continue to grow together and be happy and healthy. Their friends and family are still as supportive as ever.”

And the fun continues for Kelce, who very soon will host yet again his already legendary Kelce Jam, Presented by Jim Beam. Pre-registration for Kelce Jam tickets is now open, with Friday’s pre-sale tickets beginning at 11 a.m. ET.

The festival goes down May 18 at Azura Amphitheater in Kansas City. Some of this year’s featured artists include hitmakers like Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz and Diplo.

Of course, with music always at the forefront of the future Hall of Fame tight end’s mind, people have wondered about his own Super Bowl playlist.

“I’ll tell you what, I’m a real music lover and it goes all over the place, especially when it comes to a game day playlist because I go all over. Things from my childhood. My high school pep band used to play ‘SpottieOttieDopaliscious’ from Outkast,” Kelce shared. “On top of that, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz back in the day had a song called ‘Duffle Bag Boy’ and I loved that. I play everything, from the old school jock jams from being a little kid. It goes all over the place. It’s definitely a variety of music. I just can’t pick one thing.”

But what about a Swift track?

“That’s my everyday playlist,” he gushed. “Not just my game day.”
