Before the Astroworld catastrophe at Houston’s NRG Park, Travis Scott’s career was a frenzy of controversy and legal difficulties surrounding the safety of his concerts, where he urged fans to ailt the stage.
Jacques Webster, a 30-year-old Houston native, was reportedly convicted at least twice for disorderly conduct at previous shows: once in 2015 for allegedly encouraging fans to climb over security barricades and storm the stage at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival, and again in 2017 during a tour stop at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, where a crowd surge severely injured a police officer and security guard.
However, those instances were just preludes to what happened on November 5 at the Astroworld festival, which Scott launched in 2018 after his chart-topping album “Astroworld.” A crowd surge toward the outdoor stage during his sold-out performance injured hundreds and killed ten. Ezra Blount, 9, was medically placed into a coma before his еат on November 14.
In the face of massive civil claims against Scott and concert promoter LiveNation, as well as the possibility of criminal charges, the “Sicko Mode” musician is believed to be hiding in his Houston home, less than four miles from the deadly Astroworld festival.
Naturally, the mansion is tightly protected, with at least five security officers at all times, and sources say that his pregnant fiancée Kylie Jenner has been sighted there recently.
Scott quietly bought the modern residence in 2019, according to county documents. The home was recently advertised for $14.5 miℓℓio𝚗. Texas is notoriously tight-fistеd.
The 1.5-acre, gated property in Houston’s Museum District, built in 2005 by architect Christopher Robertson of Robertson Design for his deceased parents, philanthropists James and Carolyn Robertson, has walls of glass with views of Hermann Park, Mecom Fountain, and the Museum of Fine Arts.
The main residence features three bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms in 12,000 square feet of limestone, black steel, and glass. Two pools, an outdoor entertainment pavilion, and a guesthouse are available.
The house has a 600-pound pivoting front door and a landscaped circular driveway. All spacious rooms include double-height ceilings, Italian marble flooring, Venetian plaster walls, and arched glass windows.
A double-height living area with a mezzanine and a curved mahogany floor and ceiling stands out. A mahogany-paneled executive office with built-in bookcases and a sitting space with a washroom and sliding doors to an enclosed patio are also included.
The open kitchen has lacquered bespoke cabinetry, Thermador equipment, and a mahogany breakfast bar.
The master suite has a coffee bar, mahogany-lined closets, and a spa-like shower down a long hallway. The third floor has a gym and a rooftop patio, while the second floor has more bedroom suites.
A Baja shelf flanks a pool behind a lush garden and cascade. The design includes a pavilion with a large TV, seating area, summer kitchen, outdoor dining area, and fireplace.
Scott would likely flee Houston to his $23.5 miℓℓio𝚗 Brentwood property, which he bought in the summer. He bought the neighboring property for $5.8 miℓℓio𝚗 earlier this year.
In recent years, Scott has become a popular commodity in music. Nine of his 73 Billboard Һоt 100 songs since 2016 have reached the top 10, and four have reached No. 1.
Last year, Scott signed a $20 miℓℓio𝚗 deal with McDonald’s, bringing his 2020 earnings to $39.5 miℓℓio𝚗. Forbes reported that his 2019 global Astroworld tour earned $53.5 miℓℓio𝚗, excluding Cactus Jack goods.
