Travis Kelce is so back! He was having a less-than-good regular season. Many wondered if he was on the decline. Then in the two playoff games, he really shined. The Ravens vs Chiefs game was his crowning glory. Travis inaugurated the scoreboard. And the Chiefs ended the day with a resounding victory. In the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, he revealed more.
He sure was happy with the win, but not too much. Travis felt that they could’ve done much better. And you can trust him to never get too complacent. Even after defeating a team like the Ravens!
Travis Kelce gives props to Spags’ defense
Jason Kelce dove right into the topic. “Felt pretty good, huh?” he asked his brother. Beating the best team in the AFC is no small feat. That too by a margin of 7 points. But Travis doesn’t like getting complacent. “Wish we could have scored more points in the 2nd half,” he lamented. Not to say that he wasn’t happy with the win. But he felt they could’ve done more.
Baltimore held KC to just 17 points and pulled off a second-half shutout. Talk about a defensive spectacle! With a season like theirs, losing this home game was not in the cards. However, unfortunately for the Ravens, a mix of bad penalties, a lackluster rushing game, underwhelming QB play, and crucial turnovers sealed their fate.
But credit where it’s due – both teams brought their A-game defensively. Travis acknowledged the hard-fought victory. He even gave a shout-out to DC Steve Spagnuolo’s stellar defense. Despite being a frontrunner for the league’s MVP, Jackson didn’t dominate in this showdown. Now as they prep for the Super Bowl, will it again be a defense-centered Chiefs? Or will the offense led by Mahomes and Kelce finally dominate?
