Taylor Swift attending Travis Kelce’s games is a ‘positive’ for the NFL, says commissioner Roger Goodell… as he brands the couple ‘wonderful young people’ ahead of this weekend’s Super Bowl: ‘It’s great to have her a part of it’

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell insists the relationship between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift has been a good thing for the NFL.

Goodell made his comments, which could well irk a strong segment of die-hard football fans, while speaking to the media to kick off Super Bowl week in Las Vegas.

‘Having the Taylor Swift effect is also a positive. Both Travis and Taylor are wonderful young people, they seem very happy,’ he said.

‘She knows great entertainment and I think that’s why she loves NFL football. I think it’s great to have her a part of it. Obviously, it creates a buzz, another group of young fans. Particularly young women.’

The Kelce-Swift romance has been the bane of existence to many hardcore NFL fans, despite  spiking engagement across social media and increased merchandise sales for the league.
