In conversation with content producers this Wednesday (13), the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, and the president of SPTuris, Gustavo Pires, announced a negotiation for another NFL game in SP in 2025 and also that there will be two games per year in the city from 2026.

Furthermore, an event has been confirmed for this year’s NFL Draft in the SPTuris auditorium, on April 25th, with a big screen for fans to watch the first round.

Other than that, Ricardo Nunes and Gustavo Pires also confirmed that the NFL, NFL Brasil, the city of São Paulo and SPTuris will hold a series of events and activities throughout the year and in the week that the match will take place, which will also feature some historic players from the Philadelphia Eagles, just as it was in NFL in Brasa with the Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame members.

Regarding announcements of the Eagles’ opponent, ticket opening date and ticket prices, both the mayor of São Paulo and the president of São Paulo Turismo commented that this depends exclusively on the NFL, both in terms of publishing the teams’ calendars and the date start of sales. But the announcement of the second team will be in São Paulo.

This week, a league committee is visiting the city and has already been to the Neo Química Arena for inspections and preliminary analyses. With this, the city hall and SPTuris formalized their desire to host a league game in 2025, in addition to proposing an increase to two games in 2026 and 2027, as the expectation of success is high for the event.

The NFL will play its first game in Brazil on September 6, at the Neo Química Arena, during week 1 of the 2024 season. The Philadelphia Eagles will be the “host” of the match, with no opponent defined yet.

The match in São Paulo will be one of five regular season games to be played internationally in 2024. Three of them will be played in London, two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the third with the Jacksonville Jaguars as hosts, at Wembley. In addition to Brazil, the list is completed by the NFL’s return to Germany for the third consecutive year, returning to the Allianz Arena, in Munich.
