Offset and Quavo pay tribute to Takeoff on 1-year anniversary of former Migos rapper’s ԀеаtҺ
Offset and Quavo are remembering their late Migos group member, Takeoff, one year after he was fatally shot at a Houston bowling alley.
“Can’t forget it won’t Forget It NEVER Forget it 🚀♾️ I Remember!,” Quavo, 32, captioned a black-and-white Instagram photograph of his nephew smiling on Tuesday.
Offset, 31, also shared a heartfelt tribute on social media.
“The times we spent is priceless what we built in this game they never wаnted to give us our flowers we influenced the world…I Love you Take you still here with us I just know you are!!!! Migo 4Life!!!!!!” he said Wednesday.
Included in the post was a video of the late “MotorSport” artist. Portions of the clip showed the trio performing onstage together.
Takeoff was killed in the early hours of Nov. 1, 2022.
At the time, he and Quavo were attending a private event together around Halloween weekend when gunshots rang out after an altercation. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner later stated that Takeoff was not the intended target.
“This morning at 2:34 a.m., officers received a call of a shooting in progress. Officers arrived there shortly thereafter — a downtown location, Billiards & Bowling Alley. They came upon a male who was deceased. That male has been identified as Kirsnick Ball, better known as Takeoff. He’s a member of the Migos rap group out of Atlanta,” Finner said at a press conference.
“I got many calls from Houston and outside of Houston. And everyone spoke of what a great young man this is, how peaceful he is. What a great artist.”
Takeoff’s record label, Quality Control, also confirmed the tragedy.
