Travis Kelce’s Favorite Offseason Getaways
Travis Kelce may be one of the NFL’s top tight ends, but when the football season ends, he likes nothing more than escaping to some tropical paradise destinations around the world. As the star player for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce spends his winters working hard on the field.
But come the offseason, he enjoys relaxing and recharging by international travel. In interviews, Kelce has shared some of his favorite places to visit when he has time off from football. Let’s take a closer look at some of Travis Kelce’s top travel spots.
Cabo is also known for its lively nightlife scene. Along the famous Medano Beach, many bars and clubs pump music late into the night. Some of Kelce’s favorite spots include the Mango Deck, where DJs play dance music as the sun sets over the ocean, and the Sandbar, a large beach club that gets packed on weekends.
For dining, Kelce recommends fresh seafood restaurants right on the water as well as upscale steakhouses in town. He also enjoys day trips from Cabo, such as exploring the old fishing village of La Cabana or swimming with whale sharks in the nearby town of La Paz.
With its combination of beautiful natural scenery and fun party atmosphere, it’s no wonder Cabo is a place Kelce returns to again and again. The laidback Mexican vibes provide the perfect escape after a long NFL season. As Kelce said, “There’s nothing like sitting on the beach in Cabo, having a few drinks, and just relaxing.”

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
One of Kelce’s go-to destinations is the beach resort town of Cabo San Lucas, located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. “Cabo is always a good time,” Kelce said. “The weather is beautiful, the beaches are amazing, and there’s no shortage of things to do.” Indeed, Cabo offers a perfect tropical escape. Its coastline features dramatic rock formations meeting the sea and stretches of powdery white sand beaches. The ocean water stays warm year-round, making it an ideal place for water sports like swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and boating.

Paris, France
While Cabo offers relaxation in the sun, Kelce’s other favorite destination could not be more different – the historic and culturally rich city of Paris. According to Kelce, visiting Paris was a “bucket list” trip for him. “The food, the art, the history – Paris has it all,” he said. Naturally, Kelce took full advantage of all the city has to offer during his trip.
He started with the top tourist attractions like the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, marveling at the iconic landmarks. But Kelce also enjoyed diving deeper into Parisian culture. He took in world-class art by visiting the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay museums. To learn about French history, Kelce walked through the Palace of Versailles and Notre Dame Cathedral.
For food, Kelce indulged in classic Parisian dishes like croissants, crepes, cheese and charcuterie plates. He dined at cozy bistros as well as upscale restaurants with Michelin stars. And no trip to Paris is complete without wine – Kelce sampled bottles from all over France.
In the evenings, Kelce explored the lively neighborhoods of Montmartre, Le Marais and Saint-Germain. He strolled along the Seine river after dark, taking in the romantic atmosphere. Overall, the cultural immersion left quite an impression. As Kelce put it, “Paris is a city with so much soul. It really is the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited.” His whirlwind tour of Paris highlights showed how much the city has to offer curious travelers.
Tulum, Mexico
While Cabo offers partying and Paris presents culture, Tulum on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula provides a bohemian tropical vibe that Kelce enjoys. Located on the Caribbean coast, Tulum features stunning beaches with tranquil turquoise water. It’s also home to impressive ancient Mayan ruins, nestled among palm trees. But perhaps most attracting to Kelce is the laidback atmosphere.
While Mexico provides Kelce with beach escapes in the Americas, he also loves traveling much farther for paradise islands. One of his most unique getaways so far was a trip to the tropical nation of Fiji located in the South Pacific. As Kelce describes it, “Fiji was like being on another planet, in the best way possible.”
He started his Fijian adventure on the main island of Viti Levu, taking in the lush rainforests, waterfalls and volcanic scenery around Nadi. But it was the smaller outer islands that really captivated Kelce. He spent time on beachfront resorts in the Mamanuca Islands, known for stunning white sand and turquoise lagoons. Snorkeling there, Kelce was awestruck by the colorful coral reefs and abundance of tropical fish.
Further afield, Kelce visited the remote Yasawa Islands for a true castaway experience. He went hiking through jungle trails, swam with manta rays, and relaxed in traditional bures – wooden huts built directly over the water. The slow pace of life and beautiful natural surroundings provided a unique cultural immersion. As Kelce sums it up, “Fiji felt like I was on a permanent vacation.
The people were so friendly, the scenery took my breath away on a daily basis, and I was constantly surrounded by crystal clear ocean.” Its combination of seclusion, natural wonders and tropical charm gave Kelce an adventure unlike any other. It’s clear why he counts Fiji among his most special travel memories so far.
Future Travel Plans

He has his sights set on destinations like Bali, Indonesia known for its beaches, temples and friendly culture. Kelce also wants to check out Australia and New Zealand to experience the natural beauty of the South Pacific from a new perspective.
Closer to home, Kelce is interested in road trips around the American southwest, taking in national parks in Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. He has talked about sailing in the Caribbean as well. With a lifelong curiosity and sense of adventure, it’s clear Kelce will continue packing in new global adventures for years to come.
