After becoming the first team since the New England Patriots in the early 2000s to win consecutive Super Bowls, the Kansas City Chiefs have another mountain to climb, and that’s Mount Three-peat. That’s why the offseason is an especially important one for the Chiefs’ front office, as it provides the franchise an opportunity to get their roster better talent. One way to do it, according to Jarrett Bailey of Touchdown Wire, is for the Chiefs to trade for Washington Commanders wideout Jahan Dotson.
Patrick Mahomes made chicken salad out of chicken you-know-what with the likes of Kadarius Toney and Richie James. Dotson had a down year after a very promising rookie season in Washington. It wouldn’t be the only move Kansas City would need to make at receiver, but trading a Day Three pick for Dotson is a low risk, high reward scenario that could result in the Chiefs having a reliable slot receiver.
Is Jahan Dotson A Worthy Offseason Trade Target For The Kansas City Chiefs?

Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesDotson isn’t a splashy name and he’s someone unlikely to move the needle very much for a team like the Chiefs, but he’s an intriguing target because of his potential. He’s never played for a high-powered offense so far in his young NFL career. Perhaps teaming up with a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes will unlock the true potential of the former Penn State Nittany Lions star. Dotson was taken by the Commanders in the first round (16th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Through two seasons in the pros, Dotson has amassed 1,041 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 84 receptions and 144 targets.
