Jason Kelce has opened up on his move into broadcasting next season with the retired NFL legend set to join ESPN.
After months of speculation about his next move following his retirement in March, the Super Bowl winner’s next step was confirmed by New Heights earlier this week.
‘Monday Night Football just got even better, Congrats @JasonKelce’ read a statement on the official social media account of the Kelce brothers’ hit podcast.
It came shortly after The Athletic first reported that the former Eagles center was moving into the broadcasting booth.

Jason Kelce has opened up on his move into broadcasting with the retired star set to join ESPN
Asked about his next venture on this week’s episode of New Heights, Jason admitted he was thrilled to be stepping in front of the camera.
He said: ‘Yeah nothing has been officially inked or announced yet but there’s been a lot of reports out there about me going to ESPN and I think time will kind of take care of that.
‘It’s a tremendous honor to be even considered to potentially work there. That network was everything that Travis and I watched growing up. We talk about it all the time, had Rich Eisen on the show last year.
‘We talk about all these guys we grew up watching. We loved watching Sports Center. Before phones that was the only way to get all the coverage. We were glued to the TV each and every day so the fact I may, potentially, probably will be working there is pretty darn cool man.’
Travis added: ‘That’s awesome man. That’s some cool stuff to see come full circle because we used to live and die by ESPN on that TV growing up, man.
‘To see you up there with a microphone in your hand is going to be hilarious man. That’s awesome’
Jason continued: ‘I’m a talking head now. Well not officially. I do my due diligence. You want to make sure you’re really looking at things, talking to people in the industry, neither one of us has done something like this.
‘Throughout the whole process and meeting and talking to people at ESPN it became apparent that it was really the right fit and at the end of the day it’s something I’m really, really looking forward to in this next phase.

Kelce appeared on Amazon Prime’s coverage of Thursday Night Football last season
‘It’s a bit clearer now, which is something I’m excited about. I know, to some degree, who I’m working with and I think very, very highly of all of them.
‘I’m excited to learn. I know a lot about football but not a lot about this world so that’s jut another avenue to continue to expand your knowledge, create relationships because that’s what every business is about. It’s always about the people you interact with. I’m really excited.’
NBC, CBS and Amazon are said to be among those who were interested in hiring Kelce, who already offers his opinions on football on New Heights’ weekly episodes.
But ESPN has won the battle for his services, with Kelce expected to be part of the pregame show ‘Monday Night Countdown’.
That is despite Kelce previously appearing as an analyst on Amazon Prime’s Thursday night broadcast. He and his wife Kylie also filmed a documentary – ‘Kelce’ – on the streaming service in 2023.
It represents another coup for ESPN, following the news that former Patriots coach Bill Belichick will be joining the network as a weekly guest on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ during the NFL season.
Nick Saban will also serve as an analyst on ESPN’s ‘College Gameday’ following his retirement from Alabama.
