No one could have predicted how much of an impact wide receiver Rashee Rice would have on the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2023 season. Despite being a rookie in head coach Andy Reid’s complex offensive system, Rice rose to the occasion and has garnered attention with his impressive performance.

One of the first accolades for Rice is his inclusion on The Athletic’s All-Rookie Team for the 2023 season. This is just the beginning of what is bound to be a series of postseason honors for the talented rookie.

Out of the entire Chiefs team, only Rice made it onto the list, which is quite surprising considering the team’s already young and deep roster heading into the new year. The fact that Rice earned significant playing time and produced outstanding results speaks volumes about his abilities and dedication.

Other wide receivers who received recognition on the All-Rookie Team include Puka Nacua from the L.A. Rams, Zay Flowers from the Baltimore Ravens, and Jayden Reed from the Green Bay Packers.

During the 2023 NFL Draft, the Chiefs selected Rice in the second round, at No. 55 overall. He was part of a highly acclaimed group of receivers with a successful college career. In his final season at SMU, Rice had 96 catches for 1,355 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns over his last two years with the Mustangs.

Throughout the regular season, Rice made 79 catches for 938 receiving yards and scored 7 touchdowns for the Chiefs. In the current postseason run, he has added 12 receptions for 177 yards and another touchdown to his impressive stats.
