Chiefs and Ravens NFL 2024 season opener has extra spice after bust-up between three players

The Kansas City Chiefs now understand that the Baltimore Ravens will be coming to Arrowhead Stadium to kick off the 2024 season.

Chiefs fans will watch as they unveil the traditional Super Bowl banner, making it their third reveal in five years.

Moreover, the banner will serve as a painful memory for the Baltimore Ravens. They entered the 2023 playoffs as the number-one seed and had the MVP spearheading their offense.

The Chiefs destroyed the Ravens’ dream of a Super Bowl appearance

However, the Chiefs never left the driving seat throughout the game and stuffed the AFC North champions in their own backyard.

The Ravens have not made it to a Super Bowl since 2013 and there was optimistic hope they would return to the holy grail once more.

Patrick Mahomes and his unit crushed their hopes of Super Bowl success with a 17-10 victory at M&T Bank Stadium.

This week, the NFL revealed that the Chiefs are set to welcome back the Ravens to mark the opening of the 2024 season.

Some analysts suspected the Houston Texans could have been the team to make the journey to Missouri. The Ravens defeated the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round in 2024. Therefore, the league has opted for the biggest blockbuster headline; there will be fireworks.

Justin Tucker annoyed the Chiefs after encroaching on their space

NFL reporter James Palmer has revealed inside information about a pre-match exchange between a Baltimore Raven and Travis Kelce before their AFC title clash.

Kicker Justin Tucker decided to perform his drills in the Chiefs End Zone where they were warming up. Disgruntled by his position, Travis Kelce decided to chuck his helmet and kick away the balls he was practicing with. The tight end resorted to this after asking Tucker to give Patrick Mahomes space to practice.

“I was told in the #Chiefs locker room after the game that this exchange between Patrick Mahomes / Travis Kelce and #ravens kicker Justin Tucker actually lit a fire in the team for the AFC Title game. Can’t wait to see what goes down to start the 2024 season,” Palmer posted on X.

Tucker motivated the Chiefs and their defense dominated Jackson

Reportedly, Tucker motivated the Chiefs in the locker room, which would have helped determine the outcome.

The Chiefs’ defense dominated the Ravens, registering four sacks, forcing two fumbles with recoveries and an interception.

Furthermore, the MVP winner Lamar Jackson was held to just 272 passing yards and a mere 54 yards rushing.

The Ravens will be looking to avenge their devastating defeat back in January and there is no better place to do it than at Arrowhead Stadium.
