In a recent statement to Billboard, the rapper clarified that her comments during an Instagram Live session were “taken out of context.” Cardi B’s team sent a full statement to Billboard, expressing that the IG live session did not accurately represent the situation, stating, “This IG live was taken out of context and there is no trutҺ to this story. Apologies for any cоnfusiоn.”

Cardi B recounted a distressing encounter with the Los Angeles Police Department over the weekend during the Instagram Live session early Monday (March 25). She claimed that officers accused her of trafficking fentanyl and possessing a weapon in her car.

During the session, Cardi mentioned, “You don’t even know what happened to me yesterday, like, y’all don’t even know. I got stopped by the cops and everything. I got stopped by the cops yesterday. You gon’ see, it’s gonna Һit TMZ real soon. They thought I was trafficking. Yeah, they thought I was trafficking fentanyl. And they thought I had a gu𝚗 in my car.”

The Grammy-winning rapper alleged that she was detained outside for “three hours” and expressed her intention to sue the LAPD. She claimed that the situation felt like a movie and insisted that she would take legal action against the LAPD.

Cardi B also speculated that one of her rivals may have prompted the police action, as the officers reportedly mentioned receiving a tip about her. She asserted, “It was, like, some white cops or something. They didn’t know who I was so they was really tough on me and everything. They said that somebody gave them a clue. I already feel like it was one of my opps and s–t. They really trying to ruin my life.”

However, when contacted for comment, the LAPD refuted Cardi B’s allegations, stating, “We don’t have any record of any traffic stop.”

As Cardi B continues to work on her highly anticipated sophomore album, her latest single “Enough (Miami)” has debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Hоt 100, marking her 12th top 10 entry in her career.
