Both general manager Brett Veach and president Mark Donovan also extended their stay at Arrowhead.
The Kansas City Chiefs fans would not have to fear losing Andy Reid any longer. On Monday, the Chiefs announced that the veteran head coach had agreed to a new contract extension with the franchise.
Besides Reid, both general manager Brett Veach and president Mark Donovan extended their stay at Arrowhead.
KMBC first broke the news that Coach Reid had agreed to a contract that would keep him with the team until 2029.
This was later confirmed by NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.
Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt told Andy Reid he wanted to make him the NFL’s highest-paid coach, and now he is, on a deal that runs through 2029, per sources. GM Brett Veach is also under contract through the end of the decade as KC launches its quest for a three-peat.Tom Pelissero wrote on X
With these extensions, the Chiefs have made sure that their thinking brains of the past Super Bowl wins stay the same. Now the focus will move on to the player signings.
Social media reacts to the Chiefs making Andy Reid the highest-paid head coach in the NFL
While the Chiefs have yet to release the details of the contract, Sportico last November reported that the 66-year-old earned around $11.5 million annually, making him the eighth-highest-paid coach in the NFL. Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was at No. 1, earning $25 million a year.

If Andy Reid is indeed the new highest-paid coach, then he would most likely earn more than $18 million, which the Denver Broncos are paying Sean Payton. Check out how the netizens reacted to this development:
