Jason Kelce has revealed that he has started listening to Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s audiobook after interviewing the A-list actor on his New Heights podcast with Travis.

Just a day after having Schwarzenegger, 76, as a special guest on his show, Jason tipped the Terminator actor’s advice in ‘Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life’ barely three minutes into the audiobook’s introduction on Thursday.

‘I was going to read the hard copy of the book, but when I found out I could listen to @Schwarzenegger read his own book, it was a no brainer to hear it from the man himself!!’ the 36-year-old, former Philadelphia Eagles center shared on X.

‘Getting pumped as we speak!!’

Audible – a subsidiary of Amazon – thanked Jason for sharing his rec’ by replying to his post: ‘You might have some more free time to listen to audiobooks now! Thanks for spending time with us, Jason, and congrats on such a successful career.’

On Wednesday, Jason and Travis revealed to Schwarzenegger that they are both respectively lining up careers in Hollywood, as they told the Austrian superstar that they were actually in Los Angeles interviewing for parts.

Travis also admitted to Schwarzenegger that he tried to adopt his ’80 percent vegan diet,’ but gave up after a week.

Back in November, Schwarzenegger appeared on the ManningCast during an NFL game between the L.A. Chargers and New York Jets, as he appeared to bizarrely feed his pet donkey, Lulu, live on air.

The former Governor of California also owns a pet pig called Schnelly, a mini pony who goes by Whiskey, and four puppies: Cherry, Noodle, Dutch and Schnitzel.

The animals and their owner live in a six-acre estate in Brentwood – one of L.A.’s most affluent neighborhoods.

‘I’m very fortunate that I can afford animals like that, or have the space for animals like that, or have the time now because of the coronavirus where I can stay home most of the time,’ Schwarzenegger once told Fox 5 Atlanta during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.

LeBron James is very honest when it comes to his NBA future, hinting it may not stretch as far as some might think, especially after his stellar 40-point performance against the Brooklyn Nets.

“Not very long. I’m on the other side. I’m not gonna play another 21 years, that’s for damn sure. But not very long. I don’t know when that door will close as far as when I’ll retire. But I don’t have much time left.”

Shooting lights out at 13-17, with a stunning 9-10 from downtown, James served up a TS% of 101.6% for the night.

Historically, NBA legends often stage farewell tours ahead of their retirement seasons, allowing fans nationwide to pay homage. From Michael Jordan to Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki to Dwyane Wade, and even Paul Pierce, they’ve all had their curtain calls.

But will James follow suit? That’s a question only time can answer.

“I don’t know how many seasons I have left. I know it’s not that many. I also don’t know, I was asked this question a couple of days ago: ‘Will you take the farewell tour or just Tim Duncan it?’ I’m 50/50. I’ll be honest because there are times I feel like I owe it to my fans who have been on this journey with me for two decades plus, to be able to give them that moment. That seems cool. But on the other side, I’ve never been that great with accepting praise. It’s a weird feeling for me.”

Currently averaging 25.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.1 assists this season, James isn’t showing any signs of NBA retirement urgency. He’s still running with the elite, his body primed for more court conquests.

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night but it was not pretty. As one of the worst teams in the entire league, the Wizards should have been a relatively easy team to beat while the Lakers are looking to make a surge before the playoffs.

Instead, the Lakers had to give the entire fanbase a scare by allowing the Wizards to hang in the game and only lose by five. With the Lakers now just one game back of the Sacramento Kings for the eighth seed in the Western Conference, a loss would have been devastating (although it doesn’t seem like LeBron James would’ve cared much).

There is a pretty simple explanation for why this game was as close as it was and it is the same reason for all of the team’s previous struggles this season. It all boils down to head coach Darvin Ham as once again, he put together a poor coaching performance in a game that should have been a cakewalk.

Ham let the Wizards get back in the game late in the fourth quarter by prematurely pulling the starters and not keeping the foot on the gas to secure the win. This is not the worst part of the fourth quarter, though, as Anthony Davis and LeBron James had to check themselves back into the game to make sure that this didn’t get out of hand.

Darvin Ham doesn’t even seem like he is a real head coach for the Lakers

It is never a good sign when two star players have to override the coach and make lineup decisions before he could even think of making. While Lakers fans should be glad that AD and LeBron had a “fine, I’ll do it myself” attitude, it is jarring that it even got to this point.

This is not the first time fans have seen this exact example happen this season. LeBron recently admitted that he had to override Ham’s defensive coaching instructions against the Los Angeles Clippers because he knew what Ty Lue was going to run and how to counter it.

If LeBron and AD are calling the shots, and Ham has struggled with lineups and rotations, then what is even the point in having him around? It almost feels as if the Lakers are winning in spite of Ham, which is never a great position to be in as a head coach.

Wednesday’s game certainly felt that way and if the Lake Show is going to make a run at the NBA Finals then the team will need to keep winning in spite of Ham. If not, the season may end sooner than expected.

One former NBA player in Austin Rivers said that the Los Angeles Lakers have a shot at reaching the Western Conference Finals for the second year in a row if the team doesn’t cross paths with the Denver Nuggets at any point during the first two rounds of the playoffs.

“I mean, this is exactly what we wanted to see,” Rivers said when asked how far the Lakers can advance in the playoffs. “We wanted to see the Lakers play this type of basketball early in the season. You look at their starting lineup. Numbers were spread out across the board, [Austin] Reaves, [D’Angelo] Russell, [Anthony] Davis, [Rui] Hachimura, LeBron James rounding it out.

“They were all dominant last night. I don’t wanna take too much from it. They played probably the worst defense that I’ve seen in 10, 15 years. The Washington Wizards are a team that you really go out there to get your confidence versus at this point. But this is what we wanna on the Lakers’ side. We wanna see this team compete and play at a high level. And they are dangerous. This is not a team you wanna play first round in the NBA Playoffs.”

Rivers explained to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg why he thinks the Lakers could be a dangerous team when the playoffs begin later this month.

“Listen, barring no injury, I agree with you,” Rivers said in response to Greenberg proclaiming that the Nuggets are the sole team in the Western Conference that the Lakers can’t beat in a playoff series. “This is a team that has vast playoff experience when we talk about even LeBron James and Anthony Davis alone. We’ve seen this duo go to the mountaintop and win a championship, even if it was in the bubble. We saw them last year get all the way to the conference finals.”

Furthermore, Rivers praised the complementary players that the Lakers have around James and Davis.

“They have a wide variety of good role players around them that have stepped up,” Rivers continued. “Look at last game — or last night for example. D-Lo, Hachimura, Austin Reaves, all these guys in double digits. They have guys who can come off the bench and score. When you look at the teams that are at the top of the West, when we talk OKC (Oklahoma City Thunder), Minnesota.

“These are young teams who don’t have that experience. These are teams that anybody and everybody I think sees the Lakers being able to compete, not only compete but beat. The only team ahead of them that we know they cannot beat is Denver. So as long as they don’t match up with them, and if they’re able to get out of this play-in, I think the Lakers could make a realistic run back to the conference finals.”

The Lakers have now won their last three games after taking care of business against the Wizards on Wednesday. Players up and down the lineup contributed from a scoring perspective for the team, considering five of them dropped 16-plus points for the storied franchise.

Davis spearheaded Los Angeles’ offensive attack with a team-high 35 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field and 15-of-15 from the charity stripe. He has now scored 20 or more points in each of his past eight games with the Lakers.

With a mere five games left to play in their regular-season schedule, the Lakers are 11 games above the .500 mark with a respectable record of 44-33. Despite the fact that the 2023-24 regular season will come to an end soon, Los Angeles still has the potential to put together a meteoric rise up the Western Conference standings before the campaign concludes.

The Lakers own the No. 9 in the conference currently but could realistically end up as high as the No. 5 seed if they finish the season off strong, considering the Dallas Mavericks are only two games ahead of the team in the standings.

Fortunately for the iconic organization, three of the Lakers’ final five games of the regular season will take place at Crypto.com Arena. Los Angeles has been a tough out at home this season, considering the team boasts a home record of 27-12 compared to a 17-21 road record.

The very last game of Los Angeles’ 82-game slate is a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on April 14.

According to The Athletic, the network is determined to add Jason to one of its most popular shows as part of a shake-up to its pregame coverage.

Just one year after Scott Van Pelt stewarded a makeover of the set, Robert Griffin III’s place is believed to be under threat, while Hall of Fame receiver Larry Fitzgerald’s part-time role on ‘Monday Night Countdown’ is in limbo.

Fitzgerald’s contract expired in February and has not yet been renewed after executives told him they wanted to see how the rest of their lineup shapes up before making a final decision.

NBC, CBS and Amazon Prime are also keen to snap up the New Heights podcast co-host, who featured on the latter’s Thursday Night Football when the Chicago Bears hosted the Carolina Panthers back in November.

Gilbert Arenas—the man who brought you “Get rid of all the Europeans” when asked how to improve NBA defenses, despite Rudy Gobert and Giannis Antetokounmpo combining to win four Defensive Player of the Year awards in the past six seasons—is at it again.

This time, Arenas said James’ legacy with the Los Angeles Lakers will never compare to players like Kobe Bryant or Magic Johnson, who spent their careers with the organization.

“LeBron was a rental for the Lakers’ greatness, and that’s just something he’s gonna have to accept,” he said on the Nightcap show. “His [scoring] milestones came in this uniform… but the legacy wasn’t built here.”

“LeBron’s Laker résumé doesn’t have a statue here,” he added. “LeBron James, the name—f–k yeah, has a statue.”

To a degree, this is a fair point. James’ two stints in Cleveland and his controversial time in Miami were more iconic than this Lakers’ run. By the time he reached Los Angeles, he was already one of the greatest players to ever live. His career has unquestionably been superior to players like Magic and Kobe, but they were lifelong Lakers and all of their titles and accomplishments came in one place.

Still, it would be surprising if James wasn’t ultimately remembered fondly in Lakers’ lore.

He won a title with the team, exactly as many as organizational legend Jerry West. He’s gone to the playoffs multiple times. He set the NBA record for points scored in purple and gold. If you don’t think Lakers fans will sit at the bar in the future and remind anyone who will listen that one of the greatest players who ever lived chose to finish his career with the team, you have another thing coming.

His legacy in Los Angeles will be different than that of Johnson and Kobe, sure. But players like Shaquille O’Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain also played elsewhere before joining the Lakers and are still considered franchise icons. Why would James be any different?
