Harrison Butker told Fox News Digital that he has ‘always been drawn to dressing well’
This weekend in Las Vegas for Sunday’s Super Bowl, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is certain to be looking sharp when he arrives at the stadium.
Butker is one of the four co-founders of the new menswear brand Shepherd’s. He told Fox News Digital in an email exchange that he’d been interested in menswear, and in particular its impact on elevating society, for “quite a while.”
“For the last few seasons I’ve enjoyed dressing more formally for games and I guess I’ve gotten a bit of a reputation for it,” he said.
Anyone who scrolls through Butker’s Instagram account can see that at the start of the 2020-2021 NFL season, his postings began to shift from mostly game-day and practice action shots to — well, a bit of a fashion show.
“Pregame photos are going to look a little different this year,” he wrote as the caption for a photo taken prior to the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Houston Texans. In the photo, Butker is wearing a suit.
Shepherd’s showroom is in Kansas City, and each client is measured either in person or virtually for his clothing. Here, Nathan Price measures NFL kicker Harrison Butker. (Shepherd’s)
The pre-game suit pictures have continued ever since — with Butker wearing a variety of suit cuts, colors and patterns in each shot.
“I’ve always been drawn to dressing well, but not necessarily ‘fashion,’” Butker said.
For him, his clothes are part of a season-long process that begins once the team’s schedule is released.
“We plan out everything together and go through a lot of fabric options to select ones that fit the weather, the location and the time of year,” he told Fox News Digital. “Once we have the fabric picked, we’ll select everything else about the suit — things that don’t stand out to the casual observer but make a difference when they come together.”
Butker cited the dark green double-breasted suit he wore at the recent playoff game against the Buffalo Bills as an example of the small details that otherwise go unnoticed.
“We picked a dark green Prince of Wales flannel, which is a very English fabric, and gave it a more British styling with strong shoulders and double-breasted peak lapels and a nod to the countryside with pockets that were originally designed for hunting jacket,” he said via email.
While he acknowledged that these touches “wouldn’t stand out to most people,” he appreciates how it “all fits together.”
Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs recently launched a clothing line, Shepherd’s. He told Fox News the brand is an attempt to “elevate” menswear through made-to-measure, tailored clothing. (Shepherd’s)
“It’s been a fun experience and has allowed us to showcase the great work that Shepherd’s can offer,” he said.
Shepherd’s other co-founders — Chris Cottrell, Nathan Price, and Austin Wright — said the company was a way for them to elevate men’s style, as well as live out their Catholic faith.
While the company’s founders are practicing Catholics, they reject the label that Shepherd’s is a “Catholic company.” Its products, they said, are for all men seeking to elevate themselves and the world around them.
The company’s showroom is in Kansas City. Each garment is measured for the purchaser, and the clothes are made in Portugal.
Price told Fox News Digital the four co-founders have very different skill sets, which he believes help the company mesh together well.
“I’ve spent a lot of my career in menswear, from a corporate retailer in high school to working at one of the biggest menswear voices in the world,” said Price by email.
Every garment by Shepherd’s is made to order — and takes about a month from fitting date to arrival. (Shepherd’s)
Butker’s professional football career means that he is used to being able to move in a garment, Price said.
“Whenever [Butker] tries on something new, the first thing he does is start to move in it — and that pushes us to ensure everything we make is fit to be lived in and moved in,” he said.
Additionally, Butker’s athletic talents mean that Shepherd’s clothes are “on such a big stage,” said Price.
“And that’s an honor for us.”
Cottrell and Wright are both military veterans, said Price, which “brings a lot of attention to detail and an eye for quality” — and “a few Army vs. Navy jokes.”
At Shepherd’s, however, faith is paramount.

“Being Catholic is central to everything I do and everything I am,” Butker told Fox News Digital. “I love being able to bring Catholic virtues into any business that I am involved in.”
Price offered similar sentiments, saying, “My Catholic faith has shaped how I approach every part of our business.”
Dressing well, said Price, “shows respect for ourselves and for others, reflecting our belief in the dignity of human life.”
That commitment to human dignity extends to the companies that Shepherd’s uses to source their materials.
“Since the day we founded Shepherd’s, we’ve prioritized working with manufacturers who treat their workers well,” he said.
Price continued, “I am proud that all of our garments and materials are made in mills and tailoring houses that have been around for centuries. The workers there are paid fair wages, and can afford to buy homes and cars, and go on holiday.”
Additionally, the act of making something, even something like a suit jacket, is participating in God’s creation, said Price.

“We’re taking the incredible gift of God’s creation and making beautiful fabrics and high-quality garments from it,” he said.
With Shepherd’s, the goal is to “elevate what guys usually wear while staying approachable and authentic,” Cottrell told Fox News Digital.
“For us, that means clothing that fits incredibly well and is genuine to who a guy is and what he does in life,” he said.
“We’ve done our job if we make a piece for a guy that is a notch above what he normally wears and it fits so well that he really wants to wear it.”
Men’s clothing, said Wright, provides an opportunity to elevate the culture.
“There’s a certain feeling when you put on a suit or a sports jacket, and you know you’ve put care into how you’re presenting yourself in the world, and we want more guys to have that feeling and get in that habit,” he said.
As a made-to-measure brand, Shepherd’s is the opposite of “fast fashion.” Clothes take about a month to arrive after they have been fitted.
Butker told Fox News Digital that this suit, designed by Price, was his favorite of the season. (Shepherd’s)
“I think a lot of guys perceive made-to-measure clothing as a luxury, when actually it’s how clothing has been made for most of history,” said Price.
At Shepherd’s, “we want to make clothes that a guy can throw on and forget, that he can be a husband and a father in, and that he can feel proud to wear, maybe even that he’d feel like standing up a little taller when he puts on something from us,” he said.
Cottrell concurred, telling Fox News Digital the brand aims “to be approachable and make elegant garments that are easy to wear, not garments that feel like a costume.”
Butker did not reveal which of the suits he plans on wearing on Sunday in Vegas before the big game — but he told Fox News Digital that “all of the suits and sports jackets from this season have been exceptional.”
His two favorites, however, were a “brown-on-brown striped suit last week from Baltimore that definitely stood out a bit,” he said — as well as a brown houndstooth suit designed by Price.
“I wore [that suit] the last time we played in Las Vegas,” he said.
With the 2024 NFL Draft only being a few weeks away, the Kansas City Chiefs should try signing these four free agents before they head to Las Vegas.
April is an exciting time to be a football fan because the 2024 NFL Draft is right around the corner. The Kansas City Chiefs head into this year’s draft with a handful of holes to fill with seven draft picks to address them, leaving time to tell if the defending Super Bowl Champions can find the right personnel to help with a three-peat.
But even if most of the league’s focus is on the draft, that doesn’t mean the Chiefs can’t add help from elsewhere. There are still several noteworthy available free agents and Kansas City general manager Brett Veach has over $24.6 million to play with, per Spotrac.
With that in mind, here are four more free agents that the Chiefs can sign ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
1. Tyler Boyd, WR
The AFC received a shake-up last week when the Houston Texans acquired All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills. The Texans were already one of the top up-and-coming teams in the league and Diggs’ presence will likely help put them over the top.
Houston’s trade also means Kansas City must figure out a way to remain competitive in the AFC, hence why they should target free-agent WR Tyler Boyd.
After eight (mostly) productive seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, Boyd is exactly the type of wideout the Chiefs need. The ex-Pittsburgh product has a wealth of experience, having racked up 6,000 yards and 31 touchdowns on 513 receptions across 120 games. Although he’s never been the NFL’s best pass-catcher, it’s worth noting that he is a two-time 1,000-yard producer.
Boyd’s prime years might be behind him, but playing with Patrick Mahomes be rejuvenating. If the 29-year-old wideout was producing 600-800 yards with Joe Burrow over the last four seasons, I could see Boyd reaching those heights — if not surpassing them — with Mahomes as his quarterback.
Considering how Kansas City’s WR options outside of Marquise Brown aren’t exactly reliable, it’d be wise for the Chiefs to pursue Boyd.
Whether the Chiefs make a move or not, there’s still time to claim DraftKings Sportsbook’s $150 guaranteed sign-up bonus! New users who bet $5 or more (with a $10 deposit) will instantly receive $150 in bonus bets just for placing the wager. Click here to sign up for DraftKings now!
2. Michael Thomas, WR
If the Chiefs want to target a wideout and Boyd isn’t there, guy there’s always Michael Thomas.
There was a time when Thomas was seen as one of the NFL’s best wide receivers. He took the world by storm in 2019 when he led the league in both receptions (149) and receiving yards (1,725) en route to being named the Offensive Player of the Year.
Unfortunately, injuries have been an obstacle for the veteran playmaker. A series of ankle injuries have limited Thomas to just 20 games over the last four seasons, which includes when he sat out of the entire 2021 campaign. But even if he’s no longer the self of old, I still see him being a solid option for the Chiefs.
Despite his injuries, Thomas has still tallied 95 receptions for 1,057 yards and four TDs across his last 20 games. He also posted a 39-448-1 stat line in 10 games with the New Orleans Saints last year. Even though that was far from his best output, he was still on pace for 761 yards, which would’ve only trailed Rashee Rice when it comes to Kansas City WRs.
Thomas also hasn’t been playing with a quality QB since he was paired with Drew Brees. I’m not saying that Mahomes would turn him into a 1,700-yard receiver again, but I think the duo could catch a lot of people off guard and that makes it an option worth exploring.
3. Mekhi Becton, OT
With Donovan Smith leaving town, the Chiefs are in dire need of a new left tackle. Internal options are limited outside of Wanya Morris, leaving GM Veach looking for a more experienced option to bring in or at least to provide competition for the former 2023 second-rounder.
Having said that, Mekhi Becton could be the solution.
Becton is one of the more intriguing free agents out there at the moment. He’s a former 11th overall selection by the New York Jets in 2020, however, his career hasn’t progressed as expected. Just when he was looking solid following his first two seasons, the Highland Springs, VA native’s development came to a screeching halt when he was forced the miss the entire 2022 campaign with a knee injury.
Becton returned to the Jets’ lineup last year, but his play wasn’t on the same level as it was before. He surrendered a whopping 50 pressures across 644 passing downs while also being hindered by a lack of discipline, being called for 18 penalties — the second-most in the league.
At the same time, the Jets’ offensive line was a mess for the majority of 2023, so I wouldn’t blame Becton entirely for his shortcomings. Sure, his pass protection could improve, but it was only in 2020 that Pro Football Focus gave him a 76.0 pass-block grade. He was also graded a 78.7 for run-blocking in 2021.
Playing for a contender can bring out the best in a player, so perhaps joining the Chiefs would help Becton turn his career around. Whether it’s competing for the starting job or provide Morris with a solid backup, I see a contract being mutually beneficial for the team and player.
4. Justin Simmons, S
The Chiefs’ secondary took a hit this offseason when they traded star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans. If they’re looking to fill a void while hurting a divisional rival in the process, management must target veteran safety Justin Simmons.
Simmons has been one of the NFL’s top defensive backs ever since the Denver Broncos drafted him 98th overall in 2016. He’s game has only improved with each passing campaign, resulting in two Pro Bowl nods and four All-Pro nominations since the start of the 2019 season. That’s a résumé that puts most available defenders to shame.
Even though Simmons’ 63.4 coverage grade in 2023 was his second-lowest mark, it doesn’t mean he isn’t an effective defender. He still found ways to get involved outside of stopping the pass, proven by his 77.6 run defense and 71.3 pass-rush grades. He’s also an accurate tackler, meaning that even if he can’t break up a pass, chances are that his man isn’t getting very far.
Considering how important Sneed was to Kansas City’s defensive success, it’s clear that the Chiefs need someone like Simmons to fill his void. Stealing away a fan favorite from the Broncos is only a bonus.
Getty Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas.
It’s not too late for the Kansas City Chiefs to add a receiver via the free-agent pool. That’s why Devon Platana of KC Kingdom believes the Chiefs should add veteran wide receiver Michael Thomas before the 2024 NFL Draft.
“Thomas also hasn’t been playing with a quality QB since he was paired with Drew Brees. I’m not saying that Mahomes would turn him into a 1,700-yard receiver again, but I think the duo could catch a lot of people off guard and that makes it an option worth exploring,” Platana wrote on April 8.
What to Know About Michael Thomas
Thomas, 31, was a second-round pick — 47th overall — of the New Orleans Saints in 2016.
Early in his career, Thomas — who stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 212 pounds — was a dominant force in New Orleans’ passing game with Brees under center. He started his NFL career with four straight 1,000-yard seasons and two All-Pro nods.
His best season to date was in 2019 when he set career-highs in targets (185), catches (149), and receiving yards (1,725), according to Pro Football Reference. He was named the Associated Press’s Offensive Player of the Year for his production that season.
Unfortunately, injuries have derailed Thomas’ football career. Since 2020, he has missed 46 regular season games, which includes missing the entirety of the 2021 season.
The 2023 season was the first season that Thomas managed to play in double-digit games since 2019. With Derek Carr as his QB, Thomas managed 39 receptions for 448 yards and 1 touchdown in 10 games played.
During his NFL career, Thomas has earned $72.5 million from his contracts, according to Spotrac.
Should the Chiefs Pursue Michael Thomas Before the Draft?
When healthy, Thomas still has the size and ball skills to be a WR3/WR4 for an offense even if he lacks the explosiveness he had earlier in his football career. But based on the current layout of Kansas City’s receiver room, there are a couple of things I think Thomas would need to agree to before the Chiefs offer him a contract.
First, Thomas would need to take the veteran minimum. At this point, it’s been several years since he has remained healthy for an entire season. If Kansas City general manager Brett Veach wants to bundle some per-game roster bonuses into the team’s offer to Thomas, that’s fine. But the guaranteed money needs to be minimal to ensure this is a potential low-risk signing.
Next, Thomas would have to agree to sign with the Chiefs after the draft. May 2 is when free-agent signings no longer impact the compensatory formula, which makes some of the long-standing free agents more attractive to teams still looking to fill roster holes post-draft.
Signing Thomas to that type of deal after the draft would make him as low risk a signing as possible, and would give the former All-Pro a chance to compete for a Super Bowl ring. Thomas has never played in a Conference Championship let alone a Super Bowl during his nine-year career, so the idea of potentially playing deeper in the playoffs with the two-time defending Super Bowl champions could be of interest to him.

Nicki Minaj continues to reach milestones in her longstanding career, as she recently dethroned Cardi B with the highest certified single ever released in the United States by a woman rapper.
According to Chart Data, as of today (March 29), Minaj’s 2010 hit “Super Bass” has been certified 12 times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Cardi B held that spot prior with “Bodak Yellow,” which is 11 times platinum as of 2022.
“POW!!! thank you to Republic Records for always having my back. barrrbz!!!!!!” Minaj celebrated her newest accolade on X.

Additionally, her latest LP, Pink Friday 2, has just been certified platinum, now joining the same caliber of her prior albums Queen, The Pinkprint, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, and the original Pink Friday.
Minaj’s latest accomplishment is most likely one of her favorites as she gets to reign over her rival in rap, Cardi B. The two have spent years subbing each other online following their big blow out in 2018 during a Harpers Bazaar ICONS party for New York Fashion Week.
Prior to the incident, the two collaborated on the Migos song, “Motorsport.”
“I’ve let a lot sh*t slide!” the Bronx star took to Instagram at the time. “I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f**k up the way I eat! You’ve threatened other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f**kin with them!! I let you talk big sh*t about me!! I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!!”
“But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f**kin off!!” Cardi added. “I’ve worked too hard and come too far to let anybody f**k with my success!!!! Bit**es talk all that sh*t in they raps but in real life they pu**y!! This shit really is for entertainment!!”
Since then, the two haven’t directly exchanged words, but clearly still have a disdain for one another.
Despite their differences, the two talented rappers have continued to show their s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 and talents tthrough their music.
On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced they signed two exclusive rights free agents. The Chiefs are putting together their roster ahead of their first offseason workout. The Chiefs will add up to 90 players for their roster in free agency and via the draft before OTAs.
The Kansas City Chiefs have tried to keep most of their 2023 roster
The Chiefs have kept most of their roster the same this offseason as they compete for a threepeat during the 2024 campaign. Chris Jones was the biggest extension they made this offseason. They added running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and defensive lineman Mike Danna last week.
They signed two familiar faces to the roster this week.
The Chiefs signed two players
Per a statement by the Chiefs, the team signed offensive lineman Mike Caliendo and safety Nazeeh Johnson.
Caliendo has been with the Chiefs since he signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s appeared in eight games for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs drafted Johnson in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Johnson suffered a torn ACL during training camp last July. He made eight tackles during the 2022 season.
Initial reactions to the signings
Here were the initial reactions of Chiefs fans on the signings.

Playing alongside Michael Jordan came with a steep price. As a teammate, Jordan would use harsh words and attempt to undermine the confidence of others. In a 2007 interview with GQ, he defended this approach, claiming it was necessary for his teams to succeed. He expected his teammates to work tirelessly and led by example.
Jordan referred to his criticism and aggressive behavior as a form of leadership. He also addressed the negative portrayal of his actions in Sam Smith’s book “The Jordan Rules,” attributing it to a lack of understanding of their championship journey. Jordan believed that his strict approach was necessary for the team’s success. He emphasized the importance of setting an example and never taking shortcuts.
Despite criticisms of his behavior, Jordan’s achievements speak for themselves, as he remains a successful billionaire, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
