Dallas police have issued an arrest warrant for Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl winner Rashee Rice for causing a multi-vehicle car crash in Dallas in March.

 

The 23-year-old Rice faces eight charges in total – six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and one count of aggravated assault.

WFAA says that Rice has 24 hours to turn himself in before officers are sent to arrest him. Rice crashed his Lamborghini on a Dallas highway and police suspect that he was racing it.

Arrest warrants were also issued Theodore Knox, 21, who was driving the other speeding sports car, a Corvette, police said. Police said that arrest warrants have been issued for Knox for one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury.

Police said that the passengers in two speeding sports cars who left the scene will not be charged and that Rice and Knox were not currently in custody.

Last week, Rice posted a statement on social media taking responsibility for what happened.

‘Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident,’ Rice said in his statement.

‘I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.’

Passengers in the vehicles are not going to be charged but Theodore Knox, the man driving the Corvette that crashed into Rice’s Lamborghini, will be.

Police suspected Rice was racing the Corvette at the time of the collision. They have previously said the drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini were speeding in the far left lane when they lost control and the Lamborghini traveled onto the shoulder and hit the center median wall, causing the chain collision.

After the smash had happened, three men – including Rice – were filmed walking away from the wreckage without stopping.

The police report revealed that 10.8 grams of marijuana was found in the vehicle that Rice’s attorney has confirmed he was driving.

In Texas, possession of up to two ounces of marijuana is a Class B misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to 180 days in jail and fine of up to $2,000.

Rice was born in Philadelphia but grew up in the Fort Worth, Texas, suburb of North Richland Hills. He played college football at nearby Southern Methodist University, where a breakout senior season in 2022 put the wide receiver on the radar of NFL teams.

The Chiefs selected him in the second round of last year’s draft, and he quickly became one of the only dependable options in their passing game.

He recorded 79 catches and 938 yards with a team-leading seven touchdown receptions in 16 games (eight starts) after being selected by Kansas City in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

He also had 26 catches for 262 yards and a score in four playoff games to help the Chiefs secure their second straight Super Bowl title.

He set a franchise rookie playoff record with 130 receiving yards in January’s 26-7 playoff win over Miami Dolphins, earning huge praise from Travis Kelce.

‘I’m proud of him,’ Kelce said. ‘I think he’s come a long way, and I think he’s still ascending as a player in this offense. It’s just been fun to see him rise to the occasion and really just catapult us in a lot of ways both in the pass game and run game.’

Louis Rees-Zammit has revealed how Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce sent him a message of support after his blockbuster move to the Chiefs.

Rees-Zammit opened up on his new adventure after signing a three-year deal with the reigning Super Bowl champions following his shock switch from rugby.

‘So the plan we’ve got is obviously the new kick-off rules this year are absolutely massive,’ Rees-Zammit explained. Ahead of the 2024 season, the NFL has revamped the play in a bid to hike return rates by incentivizing players such as Rees-Zammit to run the ball back.

‘That’s where my main position is going to be, so I’ve got to fight to be a starter in that position this year.

‘And then within the offense, it’s about how quick I can learn the play because we’ve got a plan to put me in various positions, play out the backfield at running back, be a slot receiver and just being able to use me as much as possible and be creative with me.’

The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end compiled a series of adorable childhood clips to celebrate Jason Kelce in a TikTok video on Wednesday, April 10.

Patrick Mahomes is poking fun at his teammate and close friend Travis Kelce.

Mahomes, 28, snuck in a friendly jab at 34-year-old Kelce for being one of the Kansas City Chiefs’ oldest players on the roster during a public appearance at the 101 Awards in Missouri, where he accepted the Derrick Thomas Award on Friday.

In a video shared by Fox 4 KC reporter PJ Green on X (formerly known as Twitter), Mahomes singled out Kelce’s seniority when reporters asked him about the Chiefs’ signing wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown one week prior.

The Kansas City quarterback said he’s “been impressed by how hungry [Brown] has been” and “you can tell he wants to win,” while sharing his reaction to the addition of 26-year-old Brown.

“Obviously, he wants to do good and everybody wants to do good. But you can tell he wants to be a part of something that’s special, part of greatness,” Mahomes added, as seen in Green’s video o X.

Then, Mahomes added, “We’re trying to build that here and we believe that we’ve started it and we want to continue it. We still have a young team — other than Trav.”

The Super Bowl MVP smirked after the comment and continued, “If we can continue to build this with a lot of people who are hungry and wanna win, we can keep this thing going.”

The Chiefs currently have six players 30 years or older on their roster, including Kelce. Safety Deon Smith and offensive tackle Donovan Smith are both 30, tight end Blake Bell and defensive tackle Mike Pennel are 32, and guard Joe Thuney is 31.

The only player older than Kelce is long-snapper James Winchester, who was born on Aug. 6, 1989, just two months before Kelce’s Oct. 5 birthdate.

Mahomes and Kelce have undoubtedly found success on the football field together, winning three Super Bowls for Kansas City, and recently the NFL stars announced their joint ventures outside of the sport.
