The Kansas City Chiefs tight end looks to be assuming the role of cheer captain in South America.

Taylor Swift has been on the sidelines rooting Travis Kelce on while he works, and now it’s his turn.

The Kansas City Chiefs star is expected to settle into his role as cheerleader in Argentina, where Swift will make her next stop this week on the Eras Tour.

A source close to the couple confirmed Kelce’s travel plans Wednesday.

Swift will resume her mammoth Eras Tour on Thursday in Buenos Aires. She’s set to perform her 3½-hour show at Estadio River Plate for three consecutive nights.

Kelce, who is fresh off a win against the Miami Dolphins in Sunday’s international NFL game in Frankfurt, Germany, is taking advantage of the Chiefs’ bye week to be Swift’s cheer captain.

It’s a recent role reversal: Not long after rumors started swirling about a possible relationship between the two, Swift started showing up at Chiefs games. She has been a frequent guest this NFL season in the VIP box dressed in Chiefs red.

It wouldn’t be Kelce’s first Eras Tour experience. He famously tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number when he saw the show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City over the summer, as he recalled on his podcast, “New Heights.”

In this week’s episode of the show — which Kelce co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles — he joked that he needs to “go somewhere nice” that is “south” and “closer to the equator” because his skin is so pale.

“South of the equator?” Jason Kelce joked, which was met with laughter from his brother.

Turns out Kelce’s older brother may not have been far off.

Jason Kelce can now add “wrestler” to his ever-growing résumé.

On Saturday, April 6, the recently retired Philadelphia Eagles player made a surprise appearance during Rey Mysterio and Andrade’s WrestleMania 40 match against Dominik Mysterio — Rey’s son — and Santos Escobar.

During the lively match, Rey and Andrade got some help from two mysterious masked luchadores, who jumped the ropes to join in the fight.

“Who the hell… look at the size of these guys!” one commentator said during the WWE broadcast.

“Those look like legends to me!” another answered.

 

One of the men ripped a metal folding chair out of Dominik’s hands, while the other masked man slammed him into the corner of the ring from the outside, and then tossed him into the center the ring. This lined up the perfect finish for Rey, who threw himself on top of Escobar to clinch the win.

After the announcer declared Rey and Andrade the winners, the two masked men revealed their identities — Kelce, 36, and 33-year old Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson.

WrestleMania 40 attendees could be seen going wild for Kelce and Johnson, especially because the two-night event is taking place at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, home of the Eagles.

Kelce — who was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft — recently announced his retirement during an emotional press conference on March 4.

“So this all brings us here to today, where I announce that I am retiring,” Kelce said through tears, nearly 40 minutes into his lengthy speech. “Where I announce I am retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and today, I must admit, I am officially overrated, vastly overrated.”

Kelce thanked his coaches, teammates and “cafeteria workers” along the way — too numerous to name, he said — in addition to his wife Kylie, mother Donna, father Ed and brother Travis.

The Eagles alum is widely considered to be among the greatest centers in NFL history. He was selected to seven Pro Bowls, was named first-team All-Pro six times and won one Super Bowl title throughout his accomplished 13-season football career.

Since his retirement, Kelce has been having some fun with his free time. He recently threw out the first pitch at a Philadelphia Phillies game against the Atlanta Braves, and PEOPLE reported on March 27 that ESPN was even recruiting the athlete to become a talking head on the Monday Night Football panel.

The Athletic was first to report ESPN’s interest in Kelce. NBC, CBS and Amazon Prime are also trying to land Kelce, per the outlet.

Kylie Kelce is in the house for this evening’s Women’s Final Four matchups, with the former Philadelphia Eagles WAG seen taking her seat ahead of NC State’s showdown with South Carolina.

Kelce, the wife of recently-retired NFL star Jason, has made the trip to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in her husband’s home city of Cleveland, where they own a property together, to take in the action on Friday night.

Footage on social media shows her walking into the arena prior to the first game of the evening, which sees NC State take on South Carolina for a place in the NCAA Championship game.

After watching the Wolfpack lock horns with the Gamecocks, Kylie will then get to watch college-basketball superstar Caitlin Clark and her Iowa team face UConn.

Clark, the all-time leading NCAA points scorer, produced an incredible 41-point haul to help Iowa get past LSU on Monday night.

Travis and his legendary Philadelphia Eagles center brother are also nominated in the Best Co-Hosts category.

Meanwhile, Swift shared an Instagram message encouraging her 283 million followers to register to vote was nominated in the best creator or influencer category. The website she directed her fans to – the nonpartisan Vote.org – recorded more than 35,000 registrations, according to the organization.

The NFL’s power couple aren’t the only famous couple with Michelle Obama getting a nod for her ‘The Light Podcast,’ while her husband, former President Barack Obama, was nominated for his work with LinkedIn.

The awards are selected by the Academy, while The Webby People´s Voice Award is voted on by fans around the world.

Voting for that award is open now until April 18. Winners for all awards will be announced May 13 at a ceremony hosted by “Late Night with Seth Meyers” writer and comedian Amber Ruffin.

Last November, the Kelces’ New Heights show was crowned Spotify’s No. 1 sports podcast in the world for 2023.

New Heights was also the top sports podcast in America and the top American football podcast in the US, per Spotify.

The show’s meteoric rise continued last month when the popular NFL duo scooped Podcast of the Year at the iHeart Radio Awards. It beat out the likes of My Favorite Murder and SmartLess to win Podcast of the Year.

Neither brother was in attendance at the ceremony in Austin, Texas, but they did record a video message for the audience, in which Travis joked: ‘Get the f*** outta here… people actually listen to this?’

Jason then went on to thank Taylor Swift’s fans for voting for them to win – amid his brother Travis’ high profile relationship with the pop superstar.

“I think everybody’s kind of shocked on how it’s taken off the way it has. But we just started off by wanting to showcase our brotherhood and our similarities knowing that we’re really two different walks of life,” Travis explained during an exclusive interview with the Hollywood Reporter. “But when you get us around each other, you can see why we’re brothers, and you see how much love, and how much appreciation we have for each other for getting to where we are in our lives. And we wanted to showcase that.”

The two have always been each other’s biggest supporters, rooting for each other at every turn. The only time that might not have been the case is when the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs faced off in the Super Bowl.

But regardless, they always aim to show the unfiltered versions of themselves. And it’s safe to say they accomplished that.

“We wanted to give people a firsthand look at what it’s like to be at the lunch table or at the dinner table with Jason and Travis Kelce,” the younger Kelce brother said. “And I think it’s just been so cool to see how everybody’s appreciated that, let alone the Super Bowl that we had, and being able to showcase our family and that aspect. I think it’s just been just an unbelievable amount of support that I can’t be more thankful for.

Jason’s presence during the Chiefs Super Bowl was one that will never be forgotten. After the Eagles lost in the first round, Jason made sure to travel and catch all of Travis’ games.

He is most remembered for taking his shirt off at Highmark Stadium during Kansas City’s win over the Buffalo Bills, and then showed up in Chiefs overalls at the Super Bowl. Plus all of his antics at the after party were priceless.

The love the two have for one another is special and shows why their podcast is so successful.

In October, Kelce debuted at No. 1 in the U.S. and has held its spot in the Top 5 since it premiered on Sept. 12, according to Deadline.

On an episode of their podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Jason and Travis, 34, joked that the documentary’s success was in part thanks to Travis’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and their then-budding romance.

At the time, Swift, 34, had just begun making appearances at Kansas City Chiefs games to cheer for Travis.

“By the way, the number one documentary of all time [on Amazon Prime] — did you see that, how crazy is that?,” Jason said on the podcast in October. “All because of you and me, doesn’t have anything to do with this Taylor Swift drama,” poking fun at his family’s newfound attention from the singer’s fans.

“Everybody is just so interested in the family dynamic,” Travis said of the film’s success on the October podcast episode.

Travis continued, “I thought that was pretty cool man. That’s fun to hang your hat on that. For those of you who don’t know, it’s the most-watched documentary ever on Amazon Prime Video.”

Among the major storylines in Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles star opened up about grappling with retirement and the subsequent emotions of hanging up his cleats.

He also spoke candidly about his concerns as a father to three young daughters — Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 12 months.

“I am fearful about what the impacts of playing football are going to mean long-term,” he shared in an emotional scene with retired Eagles player Connor Barwin in Kelce. “I have two girls and … some people end up getting CTE and some guys live long, healthy lives. On March 4, he officially called it a career and delivered a tearful 40-minute speech in front of friends and family, including his wife, brother and parents.

The recently-retired Philadelphia Eagles center maintains his successful “New Heights” podcast with brother Travis, and he made waves on Sunday with an appearance at WrestleMania XL — held, of course, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Drew delivers a “golden title”

The WWE championship belt is becoming a bit of a fixture with the Kelce brothers. Most recently, Travis sported the belt back in February as his Kansas City Chiefs celebrated their second Super Bowl victory in as many years. It’s the third time this decade that the WWE has commissioned a special belt to a Super Bowl champion, as part of its partnership with the NFL — and in 2022, Travis donned the belt at Jason‘s expense, after the Chiefs defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

But actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore, making her own surprise appearance at WrestleMania, had a special gift for Jason and longtime teammate Lane Johnson backstage at the Linc: the golden championship belt, which Jason was delighted to receive.

Barrymore was among several celebrities on hand in Philly to watch the biggest event in wrestling. Rapper Lil Wayne performed at the event, while Druski, Snoop Dogg, Meek Mill, and San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle were all spotted over the two-day event.

It remains to be seen whether Kelce will become a WWE mainstay or whether this was simply a perfect confluence of events, but it is an interesting possibility now that his NFL days are at an end. He certainly was a popular figure at WrestleMania XL, and his affable nature makes his future in the sport one to watch.

Mercedes opted for a bold tyre strategy following the early red flag from Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciardo’s crash, as both Hamilton and George Russell attempted a one-stop strategy after the restart.

 

They switched back to two-stops after Hamilton sharply insisted over the team radio: ‘Change the strategy.’

After the race, a reporter asked if he was jealous of Ferrari – the team he will drive for next year – after they finished third and fourth with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

Hamilton was not impressed with the question as he retorted: ‘Do you have any better questions?’

The reporter apologised but before they could ask a further question, Hamilton walked away and his press officer simply said: ‘Thank you.’

In an another interview, Hamilton revealed that he suffered damage after the restart following contact with Leclerc.

He said: ‘The car is never what I hoped it would be. It’s never what we hoped it would be.

‘I got some damage I think in the first stint at the restart with Charles [Leclerc] and I had massive understeer, like huge, huge understeer.

‘So that’s why I decided to let George [Russell] by, because he seemed quicker and I just couldn’t turn the car.

 ‘It took us two stints to finally dial more and more wing in to make up for that loss. Last stint, I was better, but it was too late, I had 10 seconds to regain.’

Russell didn’t fare much better, though he capitalised on a late mistake from Oscar Piastri to snatch P7 on the final lap of the race.

Hamilton has won six of his seven championships at Mercedes, but has not won a race since the 2021 season.

His P9 finish maintains his worst ever start to a season with just ten points in four races – 67 off championship leader Max Verstappen.
