According to Forbes, which published a series of 2024 billionaire reports on Tuesday, Swift is the first musician to reach 10-figure status solely based on songwriting and performing (rather than brand deals or business ventures).

Swift’s vast fortune is primarily thanks to her valuable discography and earnings from streaming deals, music sales, concert tickets, and merchandise.

Representatives for Swift did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment regarding the Forbes report.

The pop star’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, propelled the singer to billionaire status.

Swift’s five-continent Eras Tour has been nothing short of a sensation. It’s the first tour ever to gross over $1 billion in revenue and is on track to become the highest-grossing tour of all time.

In October 2023, after Swift toured 56 dates across the US and Mexico, The Eras Tour had already generated $780 million and added $4.3 billion to America’s gross domestic product, according to Bloomberg Economics.

She has since made stops in Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, with plans to continue in Europe and North America throughout 2024 following the release of her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

The movie version of the tour broke box-office records before it was even released. It grossed more than $261 million worldwide.

Worldwide ticket presales had already exceeded $100 million before the film was released (a day early) on October 12, 2023, AMC Theatres reported.

According to ticketing service Fandango, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” set a new record for the highest first-day ticket sales in 2023. It has also become the highest-grossing concert movie of all time, surpassing “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.”

Swift, who bypassed movie studios to personally fund the concert movie, will receive half of the box office earnings for the film, which grossed $261 million worldwide.

Swift cashed in on her blockbuster Eras Tour movie again by selling the streaming rights to Disney for more than $75 million.

Once “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” had left theaters, Swift struck a deal with Disney+ to release the film’s extended version on streaming.

According to Puck News, Disney paid upwards of $75 million for the exclusive rights.

Citing anonymous sources, the outlet reported that Disney’s Bob Iger outbid Netflix and Universal Pictures (which handled VOD distribution for the film in December) for the streaming rights by offering the huge sum, which the other two streamers couldn’t match.

Swift has endorsement deals and partnerships with high-profile brands.

These partnerships include Capital One, AT&T, Stella McCartney, Elizabeth Arden perfumes, American Express, Keds, Diet Coke, Walmart, and Apple.

But touring has long been Swift’s biggest money maker. The 1989 World Tour grossed more than $250 million in 2015.

That figure is according to the Los Angeles Times.

She earned even more during her Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018.

At the time, the Reputation Stadium Tour broke the record for the highest-grossing US tour ever, according to Billboard. Swift earned an average of $7 million per show, more than double the US per-concert average during the “1989” tour.

But her tours don’t just bring in ticket sales. Swift also makes a huge sum of money from merch.

Last April, Forbes estimated that Swift’s coveted on-site merchandise — which she sells at an average price of $80 —could add an estimated $87 million in proceeds to her fortune.

Swift amassed an estimated $230 million in record sales following the release of her 2022 album “Midnights.”

According to The Guardian, Swift’s massive album sales for “Midnights” brought in $230 million for Swift’s label Universal.

With more than 1.5 million equivalent album units earned in the US in its first week, “Midnights” landed the biggest week for an album in seven years (since Swift’s own album “Reputation”).

Swift made $52 million in 2021 after rerecording earlier work that was acquired (and then sold) by Scooter Braun.

Swift embarked on a mission to rerecord her first six albums after Scooter Braun, whom she accused of “incessant, manipulative bullying,” purchased the legal rights to her back catalog in 2019. (He later sold the master recordings to a private-equity company.)

Swift needs a way to travel among all these homes. She reportedly owns a Dassault private jet.

The Dassault 7X is registered to Island Jet Inc., a holding company listed under the same address as Taylor Swift Productions, Business Insider previously reported.

With possibly their biggest opponent coping with an injury to one of its key players, the Eastern Conference’s path to the Finals is also clear for them.

Although it seemed inevitable that the Celtics will win the NBA championship, that isn’t actually the case. The Celtics still have a lot of opportunities to lose this postseason.

And for the following three main reasons, the Celtics’ quest for Banner 18 will end in failure:

Late-game incompetence

Boston left a lot to be desired in terms of their game-ending performance. Does anyone really think that Joe Mazzulla or Jayson Tatum will make the perfect play in the closing seconds?

During the regular season, the Celtics struggled with a stagnating offense with Tatum simply dribbling the ball into the floor in the closing minutes of games. Boston, which finished 13-11 this season in games decided by six points or less, appears to focus more on isolations than on its amazing ball movement, an issue that is prevalent in the NBA.

Tatum has also not fared well in certain circumstances. It seems as though he hasn’t made a game-winning basket since defeating the Brooklyn Nets a few postseasons ago by making a layup at the buzzer. Since then, he’s had many more opportunities that have merely fallen flat.

The pressure in the playoffs will increase exponentially at game’s finish. During these thrilling finishes, execution must be nearly flawless, and the Celtics have demonstrated that they become overly eager and frequently crumble under such strain.

Turnover defect

The Celtics’ two most recent postseason runs have been wrecked by turnovers, which come at the worst possible time for Boston. The Celtics committed 23 turnovers when the Golden State Warriors finished the Finals on the parquet floor in 2022, and Jaylen Brown had eight turnovers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals the previous year.

It makes sense that the Celtics frequently want to get the ball into the hands of Brown and Tatum. They are the two top players on the team and have a wide range of scoring options. But the Celtics will have difficulties if they haven’t entirely resolved their ball-handling troubles.

The biggest star in the NBA is the most visible.

Sometimes, a team’s only option is to tip its hat to the top player on the floor. If the Celtics face the Denver Nuggets in the Finals, there is a scenario that could come to pass.

Tatum and Brown are not on the same level as Nikola Jokic. The two-time MVP ate up Kristaps Porzingis near the rim with a gorgeous variety of post moves in their two regular-season encounters, and the Celtics have no answer for him. Are we certain Porzingis can even survive the grueling postseason grind in good health? The idea that Luke Kornet or even Al Horford would have to try to protect Jokic is unsettling.

In Denver’s two victories over the Celtics, Jokic averaged 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists while shooting 60.1% from the floor. This is probably what he’ll do in the Finals.

Nobody else compares to Jokic. He’s an incredible individual talent who makes those around him feel better. He also possesses championship mettle. Even against a team as talented as Boston, trying to defeat him when he understands what it takes to win a championship is an extremely difficult challenge. Thus, Celtics, good luck with that.

Calvin Harris’ wife, Vick Hope, is a secret Swiftie!

On Monday, the 34-year-old British media host admitted during an episode of her BBC 1 Radio show, Going Home With Vick, Katie and Jamie, that when it comes to playing Taylor Swift’s music, she waits until her husband is out of the house, given his romantic history with the “Lavender Haze” singer, 34.

Swift and Harris, 40, dated for over a year from 2015 to 2016. The “This Is What You Came For” hitmaker ultimately tied the knot with Hope in September 2023 in an intimate ceremony at Hulne Priory in Northumberland, England.

During the episode, Hope and her fellow co-hosts were discussing what they like to do when their significant others are away, which is when she made the confession about her listening habits when her Scottish DJ husband is gone.

“As soon as my husband goes away, I listen to Taylor Swift,” Hope told Katie Thistleton and Jamie Laing. “That’s just when I get my little fill — just a little fill. Just a couple of songs, get it out of my system and then it’s done.”

The admission comes on the heels of the DJ and radio host brushing elbows with Swift at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards in February. An insider told ET that Harris — whose real name is Adam Wiles — supported the “You Belong With Me” crooner who was nominated for six awards. The source said the newlyweds looked happy and relaxed at their table and even clapped for Swift.

It’s not surprising as the pair appear to have kept in touch and stayed friendly following their breakup in March 2016. Around that time, Harris gave his ex credit for helping to write his song with Rihanna, “This Is What You Come For.” Swift was credited under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.

He later took to social media platform X — formerly Twitter — to comment on Swift quietly contributing to the track, saying it was her idea to fly under the radar using a very Swedish moniker.

“And she sings on a little bit of it too. Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual,” Harris shared at the time. “I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym.”

As for Harris’ relationship with Hope, they were first romantically linked by The Sun in January 2022 when a source shared they had been dating for several months.

“She has been talking to her friends about him but has wanted to keep it quiet until now. Those who know them think they make a lovely couple,” the outlet reported at the time.

The pair had previously met in 2007 and she said she rejected his advances. In a January 2023 interview with You Magazine, Hope said that back when Harris produced “Acceptable in the 80s,” she told him she was not interested in going out on a date.

“It’s something that we laughed about on our first proper date. We still laugh about it now,” she said.

It’s a good thing he gave it another go, however, as they have now been happily married for seven months.

“Just another swiftie tryna [sic] learn football, or a kid tryna avoid a nap. Who Knows?” the NFL wife jokingly captioned the pictures, shouting out her husband’s team with a “#GoBirds”…

 

As the sharp-witted repeatedly asked “who’s that,” pointing to the screen when a player would pop up, Kylie obligingly answered, further explaining their roles.

The caption referred to the phenomenon following pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce’s budding romance, whereby Taylor’s devoted fanbase, who call themselves “Swifties”, started studying up on the NFL.
