A heartbroken Daniel Ricciardo has claimed there is ‘no excuse’ for the accident that saw him retire from the Chinese Grand Prix.

The back of Ricciardo’s RB car was struck by Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll during the first safety car stint, causing significant damage to the Australian’s rear wing.

Ricciardo, 34, was on track to compete for a points finish, but instead had to retire as a result of the collision.

 

Stroll blamed Ricciardo for ‘brake checking’ him in the immediate aftermath of the incident, but the Australian is adamant that he was not at fault for what occurred in Shanghai.

Speaking to reporters after the race, Ricciardo hit out at his Canadian rival.

Ferrari president John Elkann recently took center stage to address all the shareholders. He discussed the F1 team’s disappointment in 2023 but used it only as an example to highlight the upward trajectory they’re on currently. He then also discussed the momentous 2023 Singapore GP win and the 1-2 in Australia earlier this season. Elkann then made it clear that it should be Scuderia Ferrari’s aim to work tirelessly to make these rare wins a common occurrence.

During the shareholders’ meeting, he explained how the fans can help the team achieve the same. As quoted by Gazzetta, Elkann said, “The passion of millions of fans around the world is what spurs us to constantly improve”.

After thanking the Tifosi for their continued support, Elkann also celebrated Ferrari’s recent historic win in Le Mans. The Italian outfit returned to the prestigious endurance racing series in the hypercar category with an emphatic victory.

Toto Wolff reignited his war of words with Christian Horner as he hinted Max Verstappen could still join his Mercedes team next year, claiming ‘other factors’ would be at play than just race pace.

Verstappen claimed an emphatic victory at the Chinese Grand Prix to extend his lead in the championship to 25 points and remains under contract with Red Bull until 2028.

There was speculation, though, over his future after Horner was accused of sexual harassment and controlling behaviour by a female employee. The Red Bull team principal, who has always denied the allegations, was later cleared in an internal inquiry.

 

Wolff has publicly engaged with the idea of bringing Verstappen to Mercedes and previously called it something that ‘needs to happen at some stage’. And the Austrian stoked the fires again in Shanghai.

‘There are so many factors that play a role for a driver joining,’ said Wolff, who has also previously conceded that ‘Red Bull is the quickest car so that will always be the priority’.

‘But I don’t think that this is the only reason you stay where you are. For, let’s say, simple minds, that might be the only reason you stay in a car and that’s it.

‘But maybe there is some more depth to some people that consider other factors too and I think Max has that depth.’

Horner fired back when Wolff’s comments on his star driver were put to him. ‘It is about how he (Verstappen) feels in the team, the relationship he has in the team and the way he is performing,’ said Horner.

‘I don’t think Toto’s problems are his drivers. He has other elements he needs to focus on, rather than focusing on drivers that are unavailable.

‘I don’t know how many more times Max can say he is staying? He has said it numerous times. Sometimes it is just designed to create noise.

‘Why on earth would you want to leave this team? Mercedes are behind at the moment. His time would be better spent focusing on the team than the driver market. I can assure you that there is no ambiguity as to where Max Verstappen will be next year.’

Meanwhile, a furious Daniel Ricciardo said Lance Stroll was ‘making my blood boil’ after their race was ended by the Canadian crashing into the back of Ricciardo’s RB following a safety car restart.

Stroll was handed a 10-second time penalty, though that did little to placate Ricciardo.

‘Maybe in an hour, when he sees it, he might take some accountability. But if he doesn’t, I can’t help him, nor can anyone here,’ said the Australian. ‘It’s so frustrating. Obviously, racing incidents happen, but behind a safety car, that should never happen.’

Stroll suggested the blame was on Ricciardo for the incident, something that only further incensed his rival, who is under pressure following his poor start to the 2024 season.

‘I’d slowly started to calm down and then I was told what Lance thinks of the incident,’ said Ricciardo. ‘Apparently, I’m an idiot and it was my fault. That made my blood boil.

‘I’m doing my best not to say what I want to say but f*** that guy. And I’m being nice, too!’

Taylor Swift Ends Kim Kardashian With thanK You aIMee & Uses North West As The Knife

Taylor Swift has long spoken about how her feud with Kim Kardashian affected her mental health, so it’s no surprise that “Tortured Poets: Anthology” features a song about it. Granted, we never expected her to use North West to cut even deeper — but that’s exactly what she did in “thanK you aIMee.”

It’s pretty clear from the get-go that “thanK you aIMee” is aimed at Kardashian. After all, the capitalized letters are hardly subtle, especially since Swift sings in the bridge, “I changed your name, and any real defining clues.” However, for anyone who missed that detail and found themselves asking who Aimee was and what she did, the lyrics are a pretty decent giveaway. For one, she references, ahem, “aIMee” writing mocking headlines about her. While the bully in question writes said headlines in their hometown paper, most of us will remember that at the height of their feud, Kardashian spoke directly to Swift’s beef with Kanye West over his mention of her in his song “Famous.” She did so in a GQ interview — and, of course, that was referenced in the article’s title. Headlines galore.

So, how does North come into this? After all, even with all of North’s memorable media moments, she’s still just a kid and can’t really be linked to the feud. As it turns out, her TikTok career probably played a role.

Back in January 2023, Kim Kardashian and North West took to their TikTok account to share a video of the two dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Shake it off.” It seems that served as inspo for Swift when writing “thanK you aIMee,” because, during the song’s bridge, she speaks about her hometown nemesis’ child singing along to the diss track she’d put out in response to all the bullying. “And one day, your kid comes home singin’ / A song that only us two is gonna know is about you,” she croons. Yikes.

 

While the dig is certainly unexpected, it’s not at all a far-fetched idea that West would sing along. After all, she’s already taken a liking to some of Swift’s other songs. However, something tells us West will figure out the song is about her mother. After all, we’ll say it again, the name change Swift sings about is far from under the radar. What’s more, West is known to be a pretty savvy kid.

Not that a diss track about West’s mom would ever stop her from belting it out, though. West’s trolling of her mom is pretty well-documented, with the youngster calling Kardashian out for claiming to love Olivia Rodrigo despite not listening to her and telling her mother her house is ugly when she’s upset. In other words, Swift may have just contributed to some serious tension in Kardashian’s household.

North West reference aside, “thanK you aIMee” makes it clear that the beef between Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift is far from over. In fact, while Kardashian has hinted that she’s long moved on from the feud and even claimed to be a fan of Swift’s music, the latter rubbishes that in the song. “And maybe you’ve reframed it / And in your mind you never beat my spirit black and blue / I don’t think you’ve changed much,” she sings.

Well, with Swift seemingly bringing West into the dialogue, something tells us we’re about to see for ourselves if that’s the case. After all, while “thanK you aIMee” doesn’t say anything unkind about West, Kardashian is known to be very protective over her family. In fact, she told GQ that the only reason she called Swift out at the start of their feud was because she wanted to protect her then-husband.

Of course, not everything in the song is a diss against Kardashian. Kinda. At the end of “thanK you aIMee,” Swift thanks her bully for motivating her to become who she is today. “Screamed ‘Thank you, Aimee’ to the night sky, and the stars are stunnin’ / ‘Cause I can’t forget the way you made me heal,” she belts out. Hey, maybe that counts for something. All we’ll say is that we’d love to be a fly on Kardashian’s wall as she dissects the lyrics.

Fans have taken aim at Disneyland California for allowing Bianca Censori to walk through the theme park with no shoes on Tuesday.

The Australian architect, 29, raised eyebrows this week after she made a surprise appearance at the Californian amusement park alongside her rapper husband Kanye West, 46.

While Bianca was covered up far more than usual, she did manage to cause a stir by partially wrapping up her bare feet and ankles with bandages.

Critics have since questioned how Bianca was able to enter the park, given that Disneyland’s official rules prohibit guests from wearing ‘inappropriate’ clothing.

‘Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times,’ Disneyland’s Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies state.

‘I got told off by a member of staff in Disneyworld Florida for walking barefoot in a rainstorm (trying to save my leather sandals). One rule for some…’ another raged.

Yet another questioned: ‘Why is [Bianca] allowed in there with no shoes? I think others should take their shoes off today and see how many get escorted out,’ another added.

They continued: ‘I’ve seen articles of girls getting escorted out because their shorts were too short or they were wearing a tank top. Why aren’t people confronting these two and making their own stand?’

Others questioned why Bianca would choose to go barefoot in the first place.

Disney suggest you dress comfortably, wear good walking shoes and check the local weather report before you leave for the parks.

Ensuring that the parks are family friendly is an important part of the Disney experience. In that spirit, guests are asked to use discretion and common sense.

Attire that is not appropriate for the theme parks (and which may result in refusal of admittance or ejection) includes but is not limited to:

– Costumes may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older Masks may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older (unless they are for medical purposes)

– Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics Excessively torn clothing or loose fitting clothing which may drag on the ground and create a potential trip hazard

– Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment

– Clothing with multiple layers are subject to search upon entry

– Visible tattoos that could be considered inappropriate, such as those containing objectionable language or designs

– Bare feet

Videos capturing Kanye and Bianca strolling around Disneyland showed him swapping out his now-standard all-black outfit for a brilliant white hoodie and baggy eggshell pants and didn’t appear to feature any of his four children from his marriage to ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Bianca meanwhile wore an unusually modest, beige sleeveless bodysuit hat exposed her toned legs and arms, and she draped it with a thick strip of tan fabric.

Although she still flashed plenty of flesh, her outfit was far more modest than some of the sheer ensembles she has worn in public with her husband, including sheer stockings with no underwear underneath.

Despite being celebrity guests, the two stopped at many of the standard attractions for visitors.

They were in the park into the evening, taking advantage of Disneyland’s extended nights in April and May, and they dropped by the park’s Star Wars Nite celebrations, according to TMZ.
