BREAKING NEWS: Andy Reid agrees new Kansas City Chiefs contract to become NFL’s best-paid coach..

Andy Reid has been the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013 – winning the Super Bowl three times – and has now agreed a new long-term contract with the team

Andy Reid, the head coach of Kansas City Chiefs, has become the best-paid NFL coach after signing a new long-term contract.

The 66-year-old, who has been leading the Chiefs since 2013 following a 13-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles, has guided Kansas City to three Super Bowl victories, the latest being in February against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Chiefs are now aiming for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl victory and have secured Reid’s services. Mark Donovan, the team’s president, and Brett Veach, the general manager, have also agreed on new long-term contracts.

According to the NFL Network, Reid’s contract will run until 2029, beyond his 70th birthday, while Veach’s deal extends till the end of the decade. It’s claimed Reid is now the best-paid coach in the NFL.

“Mark, Brett and Andy have achieved historic success together, and we are thrilled that they will continue in their roles for many years to come,” said Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt.

“Individually, Mark, Brett and Andy each represent the best in the National Football League at their respective positions, and together, they make up one of the finest leadership teams in all of professional sports. They have been tremendous leaders for this organization on and off the field, and we look forward to their continued success in the years ahead.”

Reid added: “I’m incredibly grateful to Clark and the entire Hunt family for giving me the opportunity to lead this historic franchise. Over the last 11 years, Tammy (his wife) and I have enjoyed calling Kansas City our home. The community has embraced us, we’ve watched our family grow, including having all 12 grandkids during our time here.

“On the field, there have been so many people that have contributed to our success and Super Bowls, and I’m grateful to the players, coaches and staff that have all invested their time into this process. I’d also like to thank my agent, Bob LaMonte. Chiefs Kingdom is a special place and I’m blessed to have the opportunity to be here.”

With Patrick Mahomes leading the charge, Reid is poised to establish a lasting legacy in Kansas City. The three-time Super Bowl MVP, widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of his era, is only 28 and expected to dominate the field for many more seasons.

Donovan noted: “It is a privilege to help lead this organization’s business operations, and I want to thank Clark and the entire Hunt family for their continued support and trust in the work that we’re doing off-the-field and in the community.

“I’m thankful to have an incredibly talented staff across numerous departments that are all key pieces to the organization. I’m proud to be a part of a team that has had unprecedented success and look forward to creating and experiencing more historic moments with the Kingdom.”

As well as Mahomes, the Chiefs boast one of the most famous players in the NFL in Travis Kelce – the tight end who’s dating pop superstar Taylor Swift. Kansas City has also just signed former rugby union winger Louis Rees-Zammit as a running back.

Veach concluded: “I’d like to thank Clark and the entire Hunt family for the support I’ve received these past seven seasons. I am blessed to work alongside very talented people and am proud of the work we’ve done to bring three Super Bowls to Kansas City.

“I am excited to continue my career in a city that’s embraced me and my family the way it has and look forward to more opportunities to bring more championships to Chiefs Kingdom.”

  • BREAKING NEWS!! The Mayor’s Decision Could Send Travis Kelce into Limbo Between Continuation and End of Career!!!

BREAKING NEWS!! The Mayor’s Decision Could Send Travis Kelce into Limbo Between Continuation and End of Career!!!

Travis Kelce has claimed he won't play for any head coach other than Andy Reid

Travis Kelce has hinted he could remain in the game for another five years following a decision by the Kansas City Chiefs. The NFL team secured head coach Andy Reid with a new contract, which may encourage Kelce to stay on.

Andy Reid can now boast the title of top-earning coach in the NFL, thanks to winning consecutive Super Bowl titles and securing his place in the sport’s history. He will lead his team in an attempt to win an unprecedented third victory in a row.

Reid’s new deal runs until after 2029, signalling he has no intention of retiring soon. Even though there had been speculation that he might retire if his team won another championship. Keeping Coach Reid is already seen as a significant achievement by Chiefs fans to maintain their high performance. It could also mean that tight end Kelce stays with the team for a longer time.

Kelce has previously suggested he would stay with the Chiefs while Reid remains as head coach. He doesn’t want to play for any other NFL team. In post-Super Bowl remarks on his ‘New Heights’ podcast, Kelce confessed: “I love Coach Reid, Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him, how much I love to be a product of his coaching career.

“I’m not playing for anybody else but Big Red. If he calls it quits this year I’m out of there with him, man.”

He later added: “I’ve got a certain relationship with him. He’s checked me a few times and I just wanted to let him know that I wanted this thing, and he can put it on me and I got him.”

Andy Reid and Travis Kelce have three Super Bowl's together - and will aim to do more after the coach signed a new contract

Kelce reflected on the moment he was seen shouting at Reid on the sidelines during the Super Bowl when they were trailing against the San Francisco 49ers, expressing regret but acknowledging it wouldn’t impact their bond.

He said: “It came at a moment where we weren’t playing very well – I wasn’t playing very well – and we had to get some s*** going. And sometimes those emotions get away from me, and that’s been the battle of my career. Everybody else? I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says.”

With two years remaining on his contract, Kelce has consistently accepted less pay to stay with the team that drafted him in 2013. Both Kelce and Reid joined the Chiefs in the same off-season – after Reid had spent two years coaching Travis’ older brother Jason Kelce with the Philadelphia Eagles.

  • Tyreek Hill felt ‘disrespected’ when Chiefs gave his No. 10 jersey to Isiah Pacheco!!

Tyreek Hill felt ‘disrespected’ when Chiefs gave his No. 10 jersey to Isiah Pacheco!!

The Kansas City Chiefs’ back-to-back Super Bowl victories have placed them in elite company in NFL history. The players involved in the triumph, along with those who battled Kansas City throughout the period, have had plenty to say this offseason.

Tyreek Hill Thrown Painful Questions by Stephen A. Smith After Chiefs Win Another Super Bowl | Yardbarker

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill began his career in Kansas City and played against his former teammates during those two seasons. He appeared on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast to share his thoughts on the last two years and Isiah Pacheco’s taking jersey number ten after his departure.

“Yeah, man, Kansas City [has] got a [really] good running back today. You can hear and see every step he takes, [they are] so hard,” Hill said of Pacheco. “I did feel disrespected when they gave him ten, tho I didn’t like that. There should be only one ten in your heart, man.”

Hill had many great seasons in Kansas City, with the No. 10 jersey becoming a popular item at games at Arrowhead Stadium. He spoke about not wanting to watch Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVII victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

“The first year that they went [to the Super Bowl], my wife and I took a trip to Tokyo because it was kind of hard for me,” Hill explained. “I don’t want to look at no game. Oh, well. Let’s just go to Tokyo. Let’s get away from it. Right, and let’s do our thing. So we went to Tokyo for the first year. And when they won, I reached out to all the guys.

“I’m like, ‘Man, I’m happy for y’all. I’m proud of all of you.’ But the second year, this year, when they won, like I watched the whole game, I’m like, ‘Y’all, we gotta win this thing, you feel me?’ I’m cool. Nah, but the first year it was kind of hard, I’m saying, trying to get over that hump of seeing the guys, do they thing out there.”

Hill’s departure before the 2022 season appeared sudden when the trade was announced with the Miami Dolphins. He reiterated in the interview that he desired to remain with the Chiefs during contract negotiations.

“I wanted to be in KC 100 percent. Yeah, 100 percent,” said Hill. “Before we even knew about the Dolphins. Yeah, I wanted to be in Kansas City, I told them that.”

The Chiefs defeated Hill’s Dolphins twice last season en route to the Super Bowl LVIII title. He ranks as one of the best wide receivers in franchise history.

COOL SHARING!! “1000% Baseball Was My 1st Love”: Patrick Mahomes Admits Idolizing MLB Legend Alex Rodriguez’s Work Ethic

Patrick Mahomes, fresh off his second consecutive Super Bowl triumph, steps into the spotlight once again. This time, it’s not just the end zone he’s dominating. But the pages of TIME magazine’s TIME 100 Most Influential People list, for the second consecutive year. Being featured among this elite roster signifies more than just glory. It solidifies Mahomes’ status as one of the globe’s most impactful individuals.

It’s not just the Kansas City Chiefs‘ victories that are stacking up. Mahomes just proved that his impact stretches far beyond his athletic prowess. And as the QB reveals in his conversation with TIME, his aspirations and inspirations reach as high as his passes.

Patrick Mahomes’ blueprint for sporting greatness

Alex Rodriguez recalls giving Patrick Mahomes the 'worst advice ever' before NFL stardom | Fox News

Patrick Mahomes’ journey is as much about diamond dreams as it is about pigskin prowess. Growing up in the shadow of major league clubhouses, Mahomes didn’t just inherit athleticism from his father, Pat Mahomes Sr. Rather a dual-sport legacy that transcends generations. Mahomes revealed the impact baseball had on shaping his character, work ethic, and approach to sports as a whole. “One thousand percent, baseball was my first love,” he says.

Reflecting on his father’s tenure in the MLB, particularly with the Texas Rangers alongside legends like Alex Rodriguez. Mahomes recalls the lessons learned. Witnessing Alex’s relentless dedication to the fundamentals, even amidst towering achievements, left an indelible mark. It was a lesson in humility, in the relentless pursuit of excellence, even when standing atop the pinnacle of success.

“I hated when my dad made me hit off a tee,” says Mahomes. “I’m like, ‘I just want you to throw it to me.’ I go watch Alex Rodriguez, he’s leading the league in home runs, and he’s hitting off the tee every single day. It taught me that even whenever I get to where I want to get to, I can’t let the fundamentals slip. I can’t stop working and doing the little things. That’s what makes people great.”

As Mahomes strides down the path paved by his idol. It’s evident that he’s not just achieving greatness; he’s embodying it.

Alex Rodriguez’s tribute to Mahomes’ prowess

Just like Mahomes, Alex Rodriguez also reserves high praise for the QB. Rodriguez reminisced about young Mahomes with TIME. “Patrick Mahomes has always had the heart of a champion. I remember Pat as a young kid, coming to practice with his dad to tee up baseballs for me and my teammates. I distinctly remember giving him the worst advice ever. ‘Don’t play football. The money’s in baseball.’ I’m happy to be wrong and glad he didn’t listen… Patrick’s legacy will live on far beyond his playing days. And—as evidenced by his back-to-back Super Bowl wins—he’s not done yet!”

With back-to-back Super Bowl triumphs on his resume, Mahomes emerges as the undisputed titan of his realm. His mantle gleams with two Super Bowl rings, twin Super Bowl MVP honors, and the coveted NFL MVP crown. In the grand theater of professional sports, few can rival the meteoric rise and sustained excellence of Patrick Mahomes.

  • BAD NEWS! Best-case scenario for Rashee Rice suspension is still awful news for Chiefs! How will Chiefs face this challenge?

BAD NEWS! Best-case scenario for Rashee Rice suspension is still awful news for Chiefs! How will Chiefs face this challenge?

Best-case scenario for Rashee Rice suspension is still awful news for Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice had the ideal rookie season. He was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft by a team amid a dynastic run league’s next dynasty. He caught passes from quarterback Patrick Mahomes on routes schemed up by head coach Andy Reid, both of whom will wind up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And a thin depth chart allowed him to become the most reliable wide receiver en route to a Super Bowl championship.

After whiffing on multiple wide receivers in the second round of the NFL Draft, it seemed Chiefs general manager Brett Veach had finally found a great one. Now, Rice’s bright future is looking a bit more dim. Rice is facing eight felony charges for his involvement in a six-vehicle crash on a Dallas highway in March.

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice could face multi-game suspension
Over the past week, there has been increasing speculation about a potential suspension looming for the Chiefs wideout. ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio speculated last Monday that Rice would likely miss “all or part” of the 2024 season, whether from being included on the Commissioner’s Exempt list or being suspended without pay.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggested that Rice is likely facing a multi-game suspension.

“He is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury,” Schefter wrote. “He turned himself into police last week at the Regional Jail in DeSoto, Texas, before being released on bond. On top of the legal issues and lawsuit he is facing, Rice is expected to be disciplined by the NFL, resulting in at least a multi-game suspension.”

Rice is likely to be disciplined in accordance with the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Although “multi-game suspension” could mean as few as two games, the league could opt for a more significant suspension. There has been an increased focus on players involved in street racing and excessive speeding since Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs caused a fatal crash in 2021. Although Rice’s actions didn’t result in death, the crash left at least seven people injured.

In the meantime, Rice has taken part in Kansas City’s offseason training program. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid clarified that Rice would continue to participate in the team’s voluntary offseason virtual meetings with coaches. It was unclear if that extended to his on-field workout, but Rice posted a video of himself catching passes during Mahomes’ informal offseason workouts hosted in his home state of Texas.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid showed why he's so great by making a great decision in the

There was some talk leading up to this past February’s Super Bowl that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was contemplating retirement.

That never came to fruition. Reid is set to run it back with the Chiefs in 2024 as they attempt to three-peat as Super Bowl champions.

Not only that, but he’s also now going to coach the Chiefs through the 2029 season. Kansas City announced on Monday that it has signed Reid to a contract extension. General manager Brett Veach and president Mark Donovan have also been extended.

“Mark, Brett and Andy have achieved historic success together, and we are thrilled that they will continue in their roles for many years to come,” Hunt said. “Individually, Mark, Brett and Andy each represent the best in the National Football League at their respective positions, and together, they make up one of the finest leadership teams in all of professional sports.

They have been tremendous leaders for this organization on and off the field, and we look forward to their continued success in the years ahead.”

Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said in a press release on Monday

NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero noted that Reid is now the NFL’s highest-paid head coach. There have been no reported numbers.

Prior to Monday’s news, Sean Payton of the Denver Broncos was NFL’s highest-paid head coach at $18 million annually. New Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh came in second at $16 million per season.

For his part, Reid was making $12 million per season prior to signing this extension. The 66-year-old head coach came over from the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2013.

All he’s done in 11 seasons with the Chiefs is lead them to four Super Bowl appearances and three Lombardi Trophies. This extension was well earned. That’s for sure.

  • Patrick Mahomes Once Credited Andy Reid for Doing the Best Possible ‘Kermit the Frog’ Impression

Patrick Mahomes Once Credited Andy Reid for Doing the Best Possible ‘Kermit the Frog’ Impression

Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes made waves in the NFL as soon as he took over the starting role. However, generally, there was a chance one could get a little cocky with fame pouring in. Fortunately, Mahomes had a locker room that wouldn’t hesitate to bring him back down to Earth. And with memes circulating about Mahomes’ voice sounding like Kermit the Frog, a bit of good-natured ribbing was inevitable.

During an interview before Super Bowl LVII, a reporter asked Patrick Mahomes about who he felt made the best impression of his voice in the locker room. Surprisingly, Mahomes revealed that it was someone not many would have guessed: Coach Andy Reid.

“Andy Reid has the best impression of my voice. He doesn’t do it in front of a lot of people, thankfully. But Andy Reid for sure has the best impression of my voice.” Patrick said, per FOX Sports.

After hearing this hilarious revelation, who wouldn’t want to hear Andy Reid’s take on Patrick’s voice? The reporters wasted no time in asking Reid about it. However, he skillfully deflected those requests with a grin on his face.

“You gotta let the voice crack just a little bit, but you know, that’s a unique voice he has,” Andy quipped. “I know what the next question is: Am I going to do it? I’m not doing it.

A Texas native, Mahomes’ voice carries a raspy tone and easily catches everyone’s attention. It has become a long-standing meme as well, but the two-time MVP doesn’t let people get too comfortable with it.

Patrick Mahomes Declines to Do Kermit the Frog Impression

Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, the Chiefs’ QB faced a request to do his best Kermit the Frog impression during a press conference. And a visibly frustrated quarterback shut down the request immediately.

Furthermore, given the magnitude of the upcoming Super Bowl game, it’s understandable that he had other things on his mind. Asking him to mimic a cartoon character at that moment was met with a deserving reply.

“I’m talking right now, and that’s it,” Mahomes responded.

This, however, wasn’t the first time Mahomes had been compared to Kermit the Muppet, and he was well aware of the similarity in their raspy voices. However, Mahomes showed that there’s a time and place for such discussions.

While he previously joked about Andy Reid’s spot-on impression of his voice in a lighthearted manner, this time, he had his sights set on building a dynasty, not creating more memes for himself.

Mahomes, 28, has made Time’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

The Chiefs quarterback was also featured on the magazine’s cover, which he posted on Instagram.

Fans rushed to compliment the three-time Super Bowl champ in the comments.

Among those was Brittany, 28, who then shared Mahomes’ post to her Instagram Stories with the caption, “My hottttttt hubbby.”

Her words come after the Chiefs star went viral for his supposed dad bod.

Brittany fueled some of the mocking of her husband’s flabby physique after revealing he can’t help himself when he’s near mini ice cream cones.

Last month, she posted a picture of herself holding a tiny chocolate-dipped ice cream cone with Mahomes in the background.

“Anyone else eat 10 of these a night…” she wrote in the post. “Cause he does.”

The jokes didn’t offend Mahomes, who himself has been poking fun at his slightly protruding belly.

In an interview with Time, the quarterback joked that the extra few pounds actually help him on the field.

“I definitely have the dad bod a little bit,” he said.

“I’ll also say I have a great body for a quarterback.

“You’ve got to have some padding in there to take the hits that we take.”

Mahomes vowed to get rid of the dad bod, though.

While discussing his future, the Chiefs star said he’s got to live a healthier lifestyle if he was to play for as long as Tom Brady.

“Tom’s skewed people’s brains on how hard that is to do because of how well he took care of his body,” he said.

“So I’m about to make sure that I get rid of this dad bod if I want to play to 45.”

However, Mahomes said he might not stay in the league for as long as Brady if his career gets in the way of fatherhood.

“I’ve looked, if I played until Tom’s age, my daughter would be 19, 20 years old,” he said.

“I would love to play that long.

“At the same time, I want to be there for my daughter.

“If I can do that, I’ll continue to play. But if I feel like it’s taking away from my family time, that’s when I’ll know it’s time to go.”
