At the Time100 Gala, Brittany Mahomes shows off her ribs and abs while wearing a crystal crop top beside Patrick Mahomes

Patrick is one of the honorees on the 2024 Time100 Most Influential People list

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes take their date night fashion seriously.

On April 25, the couple stepped out in coordinating looks for a glamorous night in New York City at the Time100 Gala.

The event is partially in honor of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, who was selected as one of the 2024 TIME100 Most Influential People. In his cover story, the NFL star spoke about balancing his career and his role as dad to his and Brittany’s daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III, 16 months.

Brittany, 28, wore a Sau Lee gown with a crystal crop top that bared her abs and rib tattoo. She paired the top with a simple black floor-length skirt. She finished the look with sparkly Kwiat bracelets, rings and pendant earrings that complemented her top. Her outfit and updo were somewhat reminiscent of the pearl Schiaparelli dress Kim Kardashian wore to the 2023 Met Gala.

Patrick, 28, kept things simple in an all-black tuxedo with no tie and his own sparkling necklaces.

Earlier in the day, the three-time Super Bowl champion marked the seventh anniversary of being drafted to the Kansas City Chiefs by reposting the announcement on his Instagram Stories.

While it’s rare for fans to see Brittany and Patrick together on the red carpet (their last was at the 2023 ESPY Awards), the pair have shown off their couple style during multiple sports outings.

Earlier this month, they attended a Sporting Kansas City game and turned the soccer match into a fashionable affair. Brittany served ‘90s Sporty Spice vibes in a cinched track top and cargo pants with oversize shades. Patrick made his navy jersey cool by pairing it with distressed skinny jeans with paisley patchwork and futuristic shades.

They also channeled couple style at a recent Dallas Mavericks vs. Denver Nuggets basketball game, where they took courtside fashion to the next level in designer looks, she in Prada and he in Louis Vuitton. And on the football field, we usually see Patrick in his jersey, but Brittany always knows how to pull off 𝓈ℯ𝓍y Chiefs red outfits to match with her man.

  • Bill Russell and Michael Jordan, the greatness of two eras of NBA basketball Who would be greater if compared together?

Bill Russell and Michael Jordan, the greatness of two eras of NBA basketball Who would be greater if compared together?

Bill Russell and Michael Jordan, the greatness of two eras of NBA basketball Who would be greater if compared together?

Comparing the greatness of Bill Russell and Michael Jordan in the context of NBA basketball is a challenging task due to their distinct eras and playing styles. Both players have left an indelible mark on the sport, shaping its history in profound ways.

Bill Russell, a dominant force in the 1950s and 1960s, was renowned for his defensive prowess, shot-blocking ability, and unmatched winning mentality. He led the Boston Celtics to an unprecedented 11 NBA championships, a record that still stands today. Russell’s impact extended beyond statistics, as he was the epitome of teamwork and leadership, elevating the performance of his teammates and revolutionizing the concept of team defense.

On the other hand, Michael Jordan emerged as the face of the NBA during the 1980s and 1990s, captivating audiences with his unparalleled scoring ability, athleticism, and competitive fire. Jordan’s six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, coupled with his five MVP awards, solidified his status as one of the greatest players of all time. His ability to take over games in crucial moments, combined with his unmatched work ethic and relentless drive to win, set a new standard for excellence in the sport.

When comparing the two legends, it’s essential to consider the context of their respective eras. Russell’s era was marked by fewer teams and a different style of play, where defense and teamwork were paramount. In contrast, Jordan competed in an era characterized by heightened athleticism, globalization of the sport, and increased media scrutiny.

In terms of individual statistics, Jordan often outshines Russell, boasting higher career scoring averages and numerous scoring titles. However, Russell’s impact extended far beyond statistics, as evidenced by his championship success and defensive prowess.

Ultimately, determining the greater player between Bill Russell and Michael Jordan is subjective and depends on various factors, including personal preferences, playing style preferences, and the criteria used for evaluation. While Jordan may be considered the more dominant individual player, Russell’s unmatched championship success and leadership qualities cannot be overlooked. Both players have left an enduring legacy on the NBA, cementing their status as two of the greatest to ever grace the hardwood.

  • The True Amount Rihanna Earned For Her Show-Stopping Super Bowl Halftime Performance

The True Amount Rihanna Earned For Her Show-Stopping Super Bowl Halftime Performance

On February 12, 2023, global superstar Rihanna captivated millions with her show-stopping performance at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show. Known for her electrifying stage presence and chart-topping hits, Rihanna’s return to the stage was one of the most anticipated events of the year, especially since it was her first major live performance since 2016. The performance not only garnered critical acclaim but also sparked widespread curiosity about the financial details of such a high-profile appearance.

Interestingly, despite the magnitude of the event and the extensive viewership it attracts, the actual payment for performing at the Super Bowl halftime show is surprisingly modest. The NFL covers production costs, which can run into the millions, ensuring a spectacle that matches the grandeur of the occasion. However, the performers themselves are not paid a performance fee.

This practice might seem unusual, especially considering the global reach and commercial significance of the event. The Super Bowl routinely draws over 100 million viewers, providing unmatched exposure. This exposure is primarily where the value lies for artists like Rihanna. While they do not receive a direct payment for their performance, the indirect benefits are substantial. These can include spikes in music sales, streaming, and downloads, as well as increased visibility which can enhance their marketability and broader business ventures.

Moreover, Rihanna’s business ventures, including her beauty brand Fenty Beauty and lingerie line Savage x Fenty, likely received a boost in consumer interest and sales from her high-visibility halftime show appearance. Such brand interactions are often strategically timed to capitalize on the massive audience. For instance, advertisements and social media engagement spike around the time of the Super Bowl, aimed at leveraging the heightened attention.

In essence, while the direct financial compensation for performing at the Super Bowl halftime show might be zero, the real earnings for an artist of Rihanna’s caliber can be substantial when factoring in the increased sales of music and merchandise, along with the enhanced value of their personal brand.

This model of compensation highlights a modern approach to value exchange in the entertainment industry, where direct payments are often less significant than the strategic benefits of global exposure. For stars like Rihanna, the Super Bowl represents a unique opportunity to broadcast their artistic talents to one of the largest audiences in entertainment, while simultaneously boosting their broader business endeavors in a way that few other events could.

    Travis Kelce and his Nieces

Ed Kelce revealed that his younger son, Travis, happens to have a very soft spot for his three nieces.

    Jason Kelce and Family

While the Kansas City Chiefs star has become a household name due to his football prowess and high profile relationship with Taylor Swift, Ed shared how his nieces have ‘Uncle Trav’ wrapped around their fingers.

Ed was referring to Jason Kelce’s daughters with his wife Kylie. The pair share four-year-old Wyatt, two-year-old Elliotte and 11-month-old Bennett.

‘It all revolves around the girls, the granddaughters, as you can imagine,’ Ed said on Australia’s Today Show. ‘Who have, not surprisingly, both their grandfathers and their father wrapped around their fingers.

‘They can do whatever they want. And they have their Uncle Trav wrapped around their fingers when he shows up.’

After Ed mentioned how Jason’s household in Philadelphia is more family-centered, he pointed out the contrast with Travis’ lifestyle in Kansas City.

    Taylor Swift at Australian Concert

‘We’ve had some good barbecues out there and enjoyed it,’ Ed said. ‘He has a lot of friends that will show up. It seems like there’s always somebody from back home in Kansas City.’

Earlier this week, Ed shared that Travis was ‘keen’ to reunite with his popstar girlfriend in Australia as she resumes her record-breaking Eras tour. The 14-time Grammy winning artist flew from Tokyo to Las Vegas overnight to support Kelce at the Super Bowl on February 11.

‘Well, look, we spoke after the Super Bowl, and I asked him, ‘Are you going to take off for Sydney?’ and he seemed keen,’ Ed told the Sydney Morning Herald. ‘He said he’d really like to see Sydney and Singapore, but he wasn’t sure because he has commitments.’

Kelce’s week since winning their third title in five years has been split between Kansas City and Las Vegas. On Tuesday, he was spotted back in Sin City while participating in a charity golf tournament.

On Wednesday, however, TMZ reported that the Chiefs star boarded a private jet and was en route to the land down under for Swift’s tour.

Swift has four more performances in Sydney’s Accord Stadium before taking the show to Singapore in March. The tour will then make several stops in Europe before wrapping up in Toronto and Vancouver.

Tonі Kukoс аdmits Mіchael Jordаn wаs never the beѕt teаmmаte

Chicago Bulls legend Toni Kukoc is finally getting enshrined to the James Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday. It took quite a while for the Croatian national, but his legacy is finally being immortalized as part of the class of 2021.

Kukoc recently opened up about some of the most memorable aspects of his career, and naturally, he had to talk about the great Michael Jordan. Kukoc did admit that MJ was never the best teammate, but that this was also one of the reasons why Jordan made everyone around him better:

“In every way possible,” Kukoc said Friday, when asked how Jordan influenced him (h/t K.C. Johnson of NBC Chicago). “He wasn’t the nicest of teammates. But in a way, he was pushing everybody to practice good.”

It’s no secret that MJ was not a nice guy. However, as Kukoc revealed in his statement above, Jordan’s no-nonsense attitude was what was needed for the Bulls to succeed. And they absolutely did.

Be that as it may, Kukoc also admitted that MJ wasn’t his favorite teammate. That honor belonged to another Bulls icon in Scottie Pippen:

“I always say Michael probably was the best player,” said Kukoc when asked who his favorite teammate was, via Sam Smith of NBA.com. “Scottie, to me, was as important as Michael. Because of that idea that Scottie was taking care of the whole team and was guarding people. He would bring the ball up and would find the right people and then for Michael it was, ‘OK, take us home.’”

There will perhaps be no other team like the Chicago Bulls of the 90s. Their unique make-up as a unit is what makes them stand out as one of, if not the greatest team in NBA history. The fact that they had Michael Jordan as their centerpiece also has a lot to do about it. What cannot be denied, however, is that Toni Kukoc was a key piece to the Bulls dynasty as well.

Can LeBron James, Lakers make history facing 2-0 deficit in NBA playoffs?

Can LeBron James, Lakers make history facing 2-0 deficit in NBA playoffs?

    (NBAE via Getty Images)

For the second straight year, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are staring down a 2-0 series deficit against the Denver Nuggets, who are once again favored to win Game 3 on Thursday.

And history says even The King will be hard-pressed to dethrone the defending champions.

Entering the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs, teams trailing 2-0 in a postseason series had won just 33 times in 449 tries. That’s a 7.3% win percentage for teams that lose the first two games of a series, which drops to 6.6% for those down 2-0 in the first round.

Incredibly, James helped lead three of those 33 comeback efforts, though his Lakers went down in four games in last year’s Western Conference Finals – just the third time he’d been swept in his postseason career.

A year later, the NBA’s all-time scoring leader needs another miracle after falling down 2-0 to the Nuggets on Monday, when Los Angeles blew a 20-point lead in Game 2 and ceded a shot at the buzzer in a crushing 101-99 loss.

    — NBA (@NBA) April 23, 2024

It’s the first time James has ever faced a 2-0 series deficit in the first round and just the 10th time overall in 54 career postseason series.

Here’s a look at how he’s fared in those previous nine series:

What is LeBron James’ all-time record down 2-0 in NBA playoffs?

Entering the 2024 NBA playoffs, James has won three of nine postseason series (3-6) when his team loses the first two games.

The first such series came in his first playoff run in 2006, when the Cleveland Cavaliers rallied from a 2-0 series deficit before losing Game 7 to the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

A year later, those two met in the second round once again, and the Cavaliers dropped the first two games by three points apiece to the top-seeded Pistons.

That’s when James announced himself as an eventual all-time great. The 22-year-old averaged 31.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists over the next four games – including a 48-point masterpiece in Game 5, when he scored Cleveland’s final 25 points – to survive the second round and eventually reach his first NBA Finals.

The Cavaliers were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2007 NBA Finals, and they couldn’t erase a 2-0 deficit against the Boston Celtics in the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals.

James wouldn’t face another 0-2 hole until eight years later, when he engineered the greatest postseason comeback in NBA history.

Cleveland lost the first two games of the 2016 NBA Finals and was staring down a 3-1 series deficit against the Golden State Warriors, who had won an NBA-record 73 games in the regular season.

No matter for James and Co., who promptly won the next two games before outlasting the Warriors in a Game 7 for the ages.

The Cavaliers lost to the Warriors in a similar spot in the 2017 NBA Finals, though they erased a 2-0 deficit against the Celtics a year later before getting swept by Golden State in the 2018 NBA Finals.

He didn’t face another such deficit until last year, when he was swept for the first time prior to the NBA Finals in that conference finals loss to Denver.

While James owns a losing record when his team drops the first two games of a series, that isn’t so bad when compared to the 30-407 series record for every other team in that spot across NBA history.

For comparison? Michael Jordan was 0-5 in his postseason career when his team lost the first two games of the series, including an 0-2 record in best-of-seven matchups.

Has LeBron James ever been swept in the NBA playoffs?

James has been swept three times in his postseason career, most recently against the Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Finals.

That was the only time that James has ever lost the first three games of a series – let alone four – outside of the NBA Finals.

James was swept by the Spurs in his first championship appearance in 2007, and his Cavaliers lost in four games to the Warriors in 2018 – the fourth consecutive NBA Finals matchup between those two teams.
