OLD FATHER: LeBron James gets trolled mercilessly by NBA fans after third consecutive loss to the Nuggets

In all three first-round playoff games against the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Lakers have led by ten points or more, but they have lost all of them.

The most recent heartache occurred on Thursday when Denver upset the home team Lakers 112-105 in Game 3, nearly sending L.A. out of the playoffs. In Game 1, L.A. had a 12-point lead but ultimately lost 114-103. In Game 2, L.A. had a 20-point lead but ultimately lost 101-99. And then, in Game 3, Los Angeles had a 12-point lead before losing again. Denver hung on after outscoring Los Angeles 60-42 in the second and third quarters.  The Lakers’ inability to muster much, if any, productive play outside of Anthony Davis (33 points, 15 rebounds), LeBron James (26 points, 9 assists), and Austin Reaves (22 points, 4 steals) was a major factor in their defeat.

Just 5 of 27 threes were made by Los Angeles. Despite missing all seven of his shots, D’Angelo Russell, who averaged 18.0 points in the regular season, failed to score. With the exception of Davis, James, and Reaves, all of the Lakers scored 24 points on 10 of 30 shots.

Denver has now defeated the Lakers 11 times in a row, including in the playoffs. During that run, Denver defeated the Lakers in four games during the Western Conference Finals the previous year.

Following that, both fans and pundits made fun of the Lakers, who are almost definitely going to return home soon.LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 25: Nikola Jokic #15 of the Denver Nuggets handles the ball while LeBron James #23 of the Los Angeles Lakers plays defense during the game during Round One Game Three of the 2024 NBA Playoffs on April 25, 2024 at Crypto.Com Arena in Los Angeles, California. NBA analyst argues Lakers feel the heat as Jokic becomes West’s new kingpin

LeBron James must be tired of the Denver Nuggets. Nikola Jokic and his boys have dominated James’ Lakers, winning their last 10 matchups. That includes a sweep of last year’s Western Conference finals and the gut-wrenching Game 2 win in the first round earlier this week. Jokic is an unstoppable force tormenting the league and his Nuggets seem even more inevitable against James and the Lakers.

FOX Sports NBA analyst Rachel Nichols said on “Undisputed” that James should be all too familiar with the Nuggets’ domination in the Western Conference due to his past domination of the East.

“LeBron James is getting a taste of his own medicine,” Nichols said. “All of those years he played in the Eastern Conference when he played for Cleveland and Miami we kept calling the Finals the LeBron James invitational because no one else had a shot in the conference, no one else is getting there. That is what is happening with Nikola Jokic right now.”

Jokic is primed to win his third MVP. He is the straw that stirs the drink for the Nuggets. However, the pieces around him complement him perfectly in ways that James’ Cavaliers teams never did for James. Nichols acknowledged Jokic’s supporting cast in her take.

“The team that is built around him and the way they function, especially as games continue, they all know what they are supposed to do at the end of games,” Nichols added.”Jamal Murray obviously knows what he is supposed to do. Nikola Jokic cleared out the rest of those players on that last shot by Jamal Murray. Jokic had a hand in that play as well. This is exactly what LeBron used to do to everyone else.”Expand TweetLeBron James explains mentality going into Game 3

LeBron James is no stranger to heartbreaking postseason losses. Nothing could be worse than J.R. Smith’s scoring error in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals.

In Game 2 against the Nuggets, however, the 21-year-old veteran found it difficult to digest Jamal Murray’s buzzer-beating shot.

He and his Lakers squad will need to bounce back quickly to stay in this series. James explained his mindset going into Game 3.

“Protect home. That’s where my mindset goes,” James said. “Obviously the only game that matters now is Game 3 and how we can get better, how we can figure this team out. So Game 3 is where my mindset is.”

It will take a short memory, although the final scene of Game 2 may never be erased from the minds of the Lakers players after they controlled most of the game.

The Lakers will go back home for Game 3 to try and end the 10-game winning streak for Denver in the series. The game tips off at 10 pm ET on Thursday, April 24.

  • LeBron James rants at NBA’s replay center for calls after Lakers’ buzzer-beating defeat in Denver

LeBron James rants at NBA’s replay center for calls after Lakers’ buzzer-beating defeat in Denver

James’ anger boiled over after the Lakers’ latest loss to the Nuggets

LeBron James was seeing red after the Los Angeles Lakers watched a golden opportunity slip away.

His frustration wasn’t so much centered on blowing a 20-point lead. Or his late missed 3-pointer that rimmed out with the game tied. Or Jamal Murray’s fadeaway buzzer-beater that gave the Denver Nuggets a 101-99 win over the Lakers in Game 2 of their first-round series Monday night.

James’ anger was more distant — the NBA’s replay center in Secaucus, New Jersey. At the heart of his wrath was a second-half foul of Michael Porter Jr. that was overturned with the league saying MPJ had made only marginal contact on D’Angelo Russell.

“I don’t understand what’s going on in the replay center, to be honest,” said James, whose team heads back to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday facing a 2-0 deficit. “D-Lo clearly gets hit in the face on the drive. What the (expletive) do we have a replay center … it doesn’t make sense. It makes no sense. It bothers me.”

James wasn’t his usually expansive self in his postgame interview after the Lakers watched Murray and the Nuggets storm back from a 68-48 hole to capture their 10th straight win over the Lakers.

James had a chance to give the Lakers a lead with around 16 seconds left on a wide open 3-pointer.

“Rimmed out,” lamented James, who finished with 26 points and 12 assists.

Porter grabbed the rebound, setting up Murray’s game-winner, a fadeaway jumper over Anthony Davis as time expired.

James got right to the point after the game.

    — On Denver’s comeback, which included being outscored 32-20 in the fourth: “We missed shots. We still got great looks and we just missed them. And they made it.”

    — On Russell hitting seven 3s after going 1 for 9 from deep in the series opener: “We never lost confidence in him. D-Lo is D-Lo.”

    — On if the Lakers can take anything from this game into Game 3 in L.A.: “Every game is its own challenge.”

    — On the challenges after a heartbreaking loss: “Of course it’s a heartbreaking game and you don’t want to lose in that fashion.”

That’s when James began voicing his frustration with the replay center. Earlier in the game, Murray was called for a foul when James drove to the basket, only to have the Nuggets successfully challenge for the foul to be waved off.

In his replay-center rant, James referenced Monday’s earlier game, when the New York Knicks rallied in the final 30 seconds of a chaotic 104-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks got the go-ahead 3-pointer from Donte DiVincenzo with 13 seconds left, a possession that started when they stole the ball from Tyrese Maxey. Joel Embiid said Maxey was fouled, and also that coach Nick Nurse and some players had attempted to call timeout before the Knicks got the ball.

“What are we doing?” James said as he ended his postgame interview

LeBron James Touch The Highest Peak in NBA: Scoring The Most Points in NBA History – Breaking the Record Set by Kareem Abdul Jabbar

American professional basketball is considered a sport of giants. “Giant” here means both literally and figuratively. It is the sport played by the biggest and tallest athletes in team sports and is also the sport with the most… millionaires in the world. And in it, American basketball legend LeBron James has just become “the biggest giant of giants”.

During his official tournament career, LeBron James scored 40,000 points, breaking the record set by Kareem Abdul Jabbar two years ago, becoming the highest-scoring pitcher in NBA history.

What’s more important is that in this match that marked LeBron James’ personal mark, Lebron’s Los Angeles Lakers team won the championship and turned Denver into a former champion.

After the match, Denver coach Darwin Ham even had to exclaim: “It was Lebron James who turned us into former champions. He alone “balances” the entire team’s play. At the age of 39, LeBron James is in very high form.”

  • Lebron James Beyond Selfish Doesn’t Care About Being Swept By Nuggets “Its Just A Basketball Game”

Lebron James Beyond Selfish Doesn’t Care About Being Swept By Nuggets “Its Just A Basketball Game”

Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ surprising sweep by the Denver Nuggets, LeBron James has offered a nonchalant response, indicating that he isn’t overly concerned about the outcome. In a statement that some may interpret as dismissive, James suggests that losing to the Nuggets is simply part of the game and doesn’t weigh heavily on his mind. In this article, we delve into LeBron James’ perspective on the sweep by the Nuggets and explore the implications of his attitude towards the loss.

LeBron James’ response to the Lakers’ sweep by the Nuggets may be perceived as a display of either extreme selfishness or a detached indifference to the outcome. However, it’s essential to consider James’ perspective within the context of his career and mindset as a professional athlete. For James, who has achieved unparalleled success in the NBA, a single loss, even in the playoffs, may not carry the same weight as it does for others. His focus on the bigger picture and long-term goals may lead him to prioritize resilience and determination over dwelling on individual defeats.

By characterizing the Lakers’ loss to the Nuggets as “just a basketball game,” LeBron James may be attempting to downplay the significance of the defeat and maintain a level-headed approach to adversity. While acknowledging the disappointment of falling short in the playoffs, James may seek to remind himself and his teammates that setbacks are an inevitable part of the journey towards success. By framing the loss in this way, James may be encouraging resilience and a forward-looking mentality among his teammates, emphasizing the importance of bouncing back and staying focused on the ultimate goal.

LeBron James’ response to the Lakers’ sweep by the Nuggets could have significant implications for team morale and dynamics moving forward. While some may interpret his attitude as a lack of concern or investment in the team’s performance, others may see it as a rallying cry to regroup and refocus in preparation for future challenges. As a leader both on and off the court, James’ demeanor and approach to adversity can have a profound influence on his teammates, shaping their collective response to setbacks and guiding their mindset as they strive for success.

In conclusion, LeBron James’ response to the Lakers’ sweep by the Nuggets offers insight into his approach to adversity and resilience as a professional athlete. While his attitude may be interpreted in different ways, it ultimately reflects James’ commitment to maintaining a level-headed perspective and focusing on the bigger picture. As the Lakers regroup and prepare for future challenges, James’ leadership and mindset will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the team’s response to setbacks and guiding their pursuit of success on the basketball court.

Earlier this year in February, news broke out that Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner was under investigation by Red Bull GmbH for “inappropriate behavior” towards a female employee. Ever since the season began in March, this particular controversy has slowly died down. However, according to ex-McLaren mechanic, Marc Priestley, the allegations and its consequences will rise to the surface once again.

“Stuff around Christian Horner is still bubbling away in the background. I absolutely believe it’s going to come to the surface again in a fairly big way,” said the 47-year-old on his YouTube channel. Priestley also revealed that from what he understands, there are a lot of “disgruntled personnel” within the Red Bull camp after this entire fiasco.

One such consequence that could happen from the trouble brewing within the team is Max Verstappen’s exit. Priestley has predicted a big shockwave emerging within the team once the details of the reported appeal against Horner’s acquittal come out.

After the saga against Horner intensified in March, Verstappen was trying to focus on his racing and avoid commenting on the matter. However, when rumors came out about Helmut Marko’s suspension in relation to the reported internal politics, the Dutchman was having none of it. He clearly cited that Marko’s exit could cause a “big problem” for Red Bull, indirectly hinting at leaving the team.

Since then, Verstappen has pledged his loyalty to the team again, as Red Bull retained Marko. The three-time world champion had revealed that only a “peaceful environment” within the team would make him stay. But, with a storm on the horizon, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has now tried exploiting the situation at Milton-Keynes to lure the 26-year-old away and into his team.

Christian Horner fumes as Toto Wolff looks to exploit Red Bull turmoil to poach Max Verstappen

According to The Race Wolff suggested that Verstappen wasn’t shallow enough to only stick with Red Bull because they were winning. Hinting at the inner turmoil within the team, the Austrian hinted at a possible coup to get the Dutchman to drive for the Silver Arrows as Lewis Hamilton’s replacement.

In response to Wolff’s comments, Horner blasted the 52-year-old. He said, “Mercedes are the third team behind their customers at the moment, so I would think his [Toto’s] time would be better spent perhaps focusing on the team rather than the driver market.”

Having Verstappen at the team could be a huge boost in morale and performance for the Brackley-based team. After having dominated for over eight years, Mercedes are in a dire slump since the ground-effect cars era started in 2022.

On the flip side, the 2026 engine regulation overhaul could be the ace up their sleeves that Wolff could use to actually make Verstappen jump ship.

Red Bull mastermind is ‘set to leave’ after Christian Horner sexting scandal engulfed the team – and ‘could join Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari next season’

Lewis Hamilton has been offered the chance to finish his career at Ferrari with the greatest car designer in history, after Adrian Newey plunged Red Bull into further chaos by apparently leaving the scandal-stricken team.

It remains unclear whether Newey, 65, will join Ferrari, the team Hamilton will move to from Mercedes next year.

But despite desperate moves at Red Bull as dusk fell to keep hold of Newey, the game there appears to be up — a massive blow to team principal Christian Horner as he clings to his job after accusations of sending sexually explicit messages to a female member of staff.

Mail Sport understands Newey is disillusioned with the political upheaval at Red Bull. There is a power-play taking place behind the scandal that has convulsed the team in recent months.

It is also believed, though unconfirmed, that Newey and his wife Amanda have been looking to move to Italy.
