Jason Kelce Says He Does Not Wear Underwear Because It’s ‘Unnecessary and Problematic’

Jason Kelce Says He Doesn't Wear Underwear

Jason Kelce often goes commando. On the latest episode of his and brother Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Jason revealed why he forgoes underwear most of the time.

“I do not wear underwear, and I don’t wear underwear based on comfort,” Jason said, after Travis revealed one of the podcast’s sponsors to be an underwear company. “The reason I don’t wear underwear is because I find it unnecessary and problematic to the freedom that my boys like to enjoy.”

As for if he’ll ever come around to underwear, Jason insisted, “I don’t think that’s going to change.”

Jason shared that there’s one exception to his no underwear rule, and that’s when he’s working out.

“My thighs chafe,” he said, “so I… do wear compression shorts when I’m running or doing physical activity.”

Also during the episode, Jason revealed that he lost the Super Bowl ring during a New Heights event in Cincinnati. During the event, teams faced off for a game in which they competed to locate Jason’s ring inside two inflatable pools filled with chili.

“This game existed because I continually lose my Super Bowl ring,” Jason explained. “And I don’t even know if Travis still knows this, but I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring in this event. They could not find it.”

At the Super Bowl, Jason Kelce meets with CBS, ESPN, Amazon, and Fox as he considers retirement

“We have still yet to find it,” he added. “All of the stuff has been thrown away, so I think we can safely assume that my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill someplace in the Cincinnati/Tri-State area. I didn’t think that would happen.”

Jason noted that he’s already put in an insurance claim for the ring, quipping, “I think the insurance company might have some things to say about whether they’re gonna cover that.”

Jason won the ring with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. Earlier this year, the beloved center, who’s a six-time All Pro honoree, seven-time Pro Bowl selection, and future Hall of Famer, announced his retirement from the NFL.

  • Jason Kelce Earns Emmy Nomination for ‘Kelce’ Documentary

Jason Kelce Earns Emmy Nomination for ‘Kelce’ Documentary

Jason Kelce better make some room in his trophy case. He may soon be adding a Sports Emmy.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on Tuesday announced that Jason’s Prime Video docuseries, Kelce, has been nominated for two Sports Emmy Awards for Outstanding Long Documentary and Outstanding Editing — Long Form. In the former category, Kelce is going up against Netflix’s The Deepest Breath, Vimeo on Demand’s Full Circle, Netflix’s The Saint of Second Chances and Showtime’s Stand.

In the latter category, Kelce is up against YouTube’s Freeride Skiing, HBO’s Hard Knocks: Training Camp with The New York Jets, Netflix’s Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team and Golf Channel’s Unredeemable.

According to Prime Video, the recently retired Philadelphia Eagles star “started documenting what he thought was his final year in the NFL. Instead, the film intimately captures the most epic year in Jason and Travis’ life, from starting a hit podcast together, Jason’s wife Kylie being pregnant with their third child, and ultimately meeting each other at the Super Bowl. All while Jason grapples with the decision of his retirement.”

Kelce became an instant hit for Prime Video, as it became the streaming service’s most-watched documentary film ever in the United States following its September 2023 premiere. Jason ultimately decided to retire following a marvelous career that included a Super Bowl win. He was also a six-time All-Pro honoree, seven-time pro Bowl selection, and he’s undoubtedly headed for Canton, Ohio, as a future Hall of Famer.

During his emotional retirement announcement in front of his parents, wife Kylie and brother Travis, Jason opened up about the “immense heartbreak” of losing Super Bowl LVII to his brother’s Kansas City Chiefs, a historic moment that saw for the first-time ever two brothers playing against each other for the Lombardi Trophy.

Neither Jason nor Travis addressed the Sports Emmy nomination when the latest episode of their popular New Heights podcast dropped on Wednesday, but it’s likely because the episode was recorded before the Academy announced the nominations on Tuesday.

    Either way, congrats!

  • Following Carlos Sainz Controversy, Fred Vasseur Argues Regulations Are Too ”Complicated” These Days

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has raised concerns regarding F1’s regulations after Carlos Sainz’s Chinese GP qualifying incident. The stewards permitted Sainz to continue in the session because they deemed that his car had not “stopped” on track. After the Spaniard made an error during Q2 and lost control of his SF-24, his car came to a halt momentarily. Since drivers are not permitted to carry on during qualifying if the stewards deem that a car has “stopped” on track, a controversy emerged about how the officials perceived the incident.

On the one hand, Aston Martin believed that the stewards should not have let Sainz carry on. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Ferrari argued that Sainz’s SF-24 never came to a complete halt.

Ultimately, the stewards permitted Sainz to carry on. Although the decision went in Ferrari’s favor, Vasseur believes he is yet unsure if the regulations are clear.

When asked about the same, Vasseur said (as quoted by Junaid on Twitter (now X)), “I don’t know if it’s clear, but for sure we need to have some understanding what happened yesterday. We asked the director if we can restart. He said yes, and it was the end of the story”.

Vasseur then added how over time the regulations have become more and more complicated. The Frenchman believes that when he started in F1, the number of pages of the regulations was only 20. However, they have increased to over 75 today.

Moreover, Vasseur believes that since teams have now hired more lawyers, F1 cannot afford to have any loopholes in the regulations. He believes that they need to clearly define the regulations to avoid any confusion. With the stewards having permitted Sainz to continue, Aston Martin decided to appeal their decision.

Aston Martin wanted stewards to disqualify Carlos Sainz’s Q2 lap time

Since stewards permitted Carlos Sainz to carry on in Q2, the Spaniard registered a good enough lap time to move to the third and final part of qualifying. With Sainz moving ahead, it meant that Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll was knocked out after registering only the 11th fastest time.

Consequently, Aston Martin decided to appeal the stewards’ decision post-qualifying, with the hope that they would then disqualify Sainz’s Q2 time. Had the stewards disqualified Sainz’s Q2 time, then Stroll would have moved into the top 10 instead of the Spaniard.

Soon after Aston Martin launched an appeal, the FIA released a detailed statement to explain why they permitted #55 driver to carry on. Their reply read (as quoted by racingnews365.com),

It is clear that the plain language of Art. 39.6 suggests that so long as a car “stops” on the track during a qualifying session, that car should not be permitted to take further part in the session.

However, it was clear from the examples cited by a number of the team managers present and the FIA, that this was not how this rule was applied by the teams and the FIA in the past. In the FIA’s view, what was crucial was that the car would not receive any outside assistance in order to restart (e.g. from marshals)“.

Because of the nature of the FIA’s reply, there is a possibility that their response would add to the confusion among not only F1 fans but also the teams themselves. This is perhaps the reason why Fred Vasseur has urged the FIA to clarify their sporting regulations.

Jason Kelce Reveals Why Wife Kylie Teased Him About His Wrestlemania Appearance

The Philadelphia Eagles star also opens up about connecting with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson at the event.

Former NFL player Jason Kelce reacts following a match during Night One of WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field on April 06, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Jason Kelce’s time in the gym is paying off — even though he took some heat from his wife in the process. The Philadelphia Eagles alum addressed his recent surprise appearance at Wrestlemania on Wednesday’s episode of New Heights, admitting that wife Kylie Kelce couldn’t resist teasing him while he prepped.

Speaking with his brother and podcast co-host, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Jason couldn’t help but marvel at his physique in the ring.

“I’m not gonna lie, my biceps are looking good,” Jason happily gushed over an image of himself at the event. “Look at that picture.”

Travis agreed and asked what kind of weights Jason has been lifting these days.

“We were using a lot of bands,” Jason shared. “And Kylie kept making fun of me because I was really obsessed with how my biceps looked.”

“I’m proud of you,” Travis replied. “They look great, man. They look like my thighs.”

Jason explained that since he was planning to “go in there with a cutoff” he needed to “get those things poppin’.” The moment of body positivity comes amid a transformative time for the former NFL center, who has said that he hopes to lose weight since announcing his retirement from the Eagles last month.

Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce surprising fans during Night One of WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field on April 6, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“I’m in the process right now, I’m retired. I played my whole career 295. I’m trying to get down to 250, 260,” Jason said on a previous episode of the podcast. “My goal is two pounds every week, lose it. I want to lose it, but maintain my muscle mass. I’m trying to monitor my protein, my carbs, my fats, make sure that I’m hitting at least one pound per body weight.”

Jason was back on his luchador business on April 6 when he made a surprise appearance with teammate Lane Johnson at WWE Wrestlemania 40. It was a star-studded affair in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with Snoop Dogg, John Cena, and even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson all showing up.

After the event, Jason took to Instagram to share a collection of pics and videos including one with Johnson. “WHAT A NIGHT,” the caption reads.

On Wednesday, Travis asked Jason about his time with The Rock.

“I’ve met him before, actually,” Jason revealed. “He came to the Eagles facilities training before one of the WWE events earlier in my career. He probably doesn’t remember that, but I remember it because I think everybody remembers when you meet The Rock for the first time.”

He continued, “But it was awesome to see him again, obviously under different pretenses this time. I’m just happy he’s back involved in WWE in a more meaningful way. He’s been such an explosive personality for the wrestling world and obviously he’s gone on to, I don’t want to say bigger and better things, but I mean, to become the superstar that he is outside of the wrestling world — I think selfishly everybody in the wrestling world is happy to see The Rock back.”

For his part, Travis was deep in his nostalgic feels after seeing his brother in the ring.

“God damn, that just took me back to all those f**king sleepovers when we were 10 years old,” he marveled. “I can say that it was fun as hell watching you up there, knowing that we used to f**k around as WWF/WWE f**king jabronis as kids. It was cool to see you up there having some fun.”

At one point during the show, Jason ripped his shirt off in what is becoming something of a habit for the 36-year-old. On New Heights, he explained why he’s trying to not make it his thing in the long run.

“I was trying to keep my shirt on because I’m really developing this, I feel like I’m stealing Bert Kreischer’s bit,” he said, referencing the comedian and 2 Bears, 1 Cave co-host. “I don’t want to steal your bit, Bert, but I feel like this was an acceptable time to have that shirt off.”

Travis joked, “You’re just a big bear. That s**t’s hilarious.”

Elsewhere on Wednesday’s New Heights, Jason revealed how he “legitimately lost” his Super Bowl ring and Travis addressed his headline-making appearance at Coachella with girlfriend Taylor Swift over the weekend.

The episode comes after Travis spoke exclusively with ET about the upcoming return of his iconic Kelce Jam music festival next month.

“This is gonna be a whole bunch of fun. You know I’m down to bring down the electricity,” he said of the event, which will include performances from Lil Wayne, Diplo and 2 Chainz.

“It’s gonna be an absolute blast this year,” he said. “… We’re keeping it fun, we’re keeping it lighthearted. We got some new things in terms of entertainment, might have a drone show or something like that. It’s gonna be extremely exciting.”

As for whether Jason will be “out of the house” for the festivities, Travis said, “I’m tugging on his arm to try and get him out to KC for it… I know a familiar face will always get somebody excited, so hopefully we can get my brother and everyone there.”

Toto Wolff reignites war of words with Red Bull chief Christian Horner over Max Verstappen’s future… as the Mercedes boss claims ‘other factors’ could woo the world champion to the team

Toto Wolff reignited his war of words with Christian Horner as he hinted Max Verstappen could still join his Mercedes team next year, claiming ‘other factors’ would be at play than just race pace.

Verstappen claimed an emphatic victory at the Chinese Grand Prix to extend his lead in the championship to 25 points and remains under contract with Red Bull until 2028.

There was speculation, though, over his future after Horner was accused of sexual harassment and controlling behaviour by a female employee. The Red Bull team principal, who has always denied the allegations, was later cleared in an internal inquiry.

Wolff has publicly engaged with the idea of bringing Verstappen to Mercedes and previously called it something that ‘needs to happen at some stage’. And the Austrian stoked the fires again in Shanghai.

‘There are so many factors that play a role for a driver joining,’ said Wolff, who has also previously conceded that ‘Red Bull is the quickest car so that will always be the priority’.

  • Jason Kelce Clarifies Comments About ‘Video Evidence’ Surrounding Super Bowl Ring Loss

Jason Kelce Clarifies Comments About ‘Video Evidence’ Surrounding Super Bowl Ring Loss

The Philadelphia Eagles star offers an update on an episode of ‘New Heights’ with his brother, Travis Kelce.

There may be more to the story when it comes to Jason Kelce’s lost Super Bowl ring.

On Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason offered a brief update on the situation while receiving some light ribbing from his younger brother and co-host, Travis Kelce.

First, Travis joked about Jason’s apparent lack of remorse for losing the priceless item in a pool of chili during the New Heights live event at the University of Cincinnati.

“He doesn’t give a f**k that he just lost his Super Bowl ring,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end told podcast guest Andrew Santino as they referenced the incident.

“I care,” Jason shot back. “It’s not like I’m, like, happy I lost it.”

    He continued, “Yeah, I care.”

Santino then asked how it happened, noting, “That seems like such a hard thing to lose.”

Travis chimed in first, declaring, “Dude, you don’t lose it. Somebody steals it.”

Jason seemingly confirmed the theory, adding, “We have some video evidence,” before trailing off.

UPDATE: Jason took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify that the “video evidence” he was referring to appears to confirm that the ring was, in fact, tossed in the trash.

“I do not think it was stolen,” he wrote. “Based on the video evidence we do have I think it was accidentally thrown in the trash while cleaning up.”

In a police report of the incident, obtained by ET, the value of the lost ring is estimated to be $100,000.

Last week on the podcast, the legendary Philadelphia Eagles center said he suspected that his ring “is now in a landfill” after he loaned it out for use during the New Heights live show. Jason’s habit of misplacing his ring over the years has been so well documented, producers created a competition titled “Jason Lost His Ring” during the first annual “Lombaby Games.”

During the event, teams competed to locate Jason’s Super Bowl ring among decoys hidden inside two inflatable pools filled with chili. After watching a clip of the game, Jason told Travis that his real ring was never found.

“There was an unfortunateness,” he began. “As you guys know, this game existed because I continually lose my Super Bowl ring. And I don’t even know if Travis still knows this, but I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring in this event. They could not find it.”

Jason said that producers went back to scour the pools again the following day to no avail. They even tried using a metal detector to locate the missing item, but the strategy failed due to “traces of iron” within the chili itself.

“We have still yet to find it,” Jason said. “All of the stuff has been thrown away, so I think we can safely assume that my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill some place in the Cincinnati/Tri-State area. I didn’t think that would happen.”

Jason won the Lombardi Trophy in 2018 when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. In the years since, he has cemented his status as the greatest center in the history of the NFL. The 36-year-old is a six-time All Pro honoree, seven-time Pro Bowl selection, and future Hall of Famer.

Last month, he announced his retirement after playing 13 seasons — his entire professional career — with the Eagles.

“Yes, the Super Bowl ring is officially gone,” he said last week. “We have already put the insurance claim in, which, I think the insurance company might have some things to say about whether they’re gonna cover that.”

Showing their brotherly bond, the siblings went on to squabble about the legitimacy of the entire situation.

“One-hundred percent they’re gonna have — especially if you’re gonna tell the entire world how you lost it,” Travis said.

“Well, I didn’t lose it, first of all, I knew exactly where it was,” Jason fired back. “It’s the same as if I left my house and somebody came in my house and took it. It’s the exact same scenario.”

“Jason,” Travis replied, “you didn’t put that Super Bowl ring in a sock and put it in the pool. You didn’t do that.”

Jason reasoned, “It doesn’t matter where I put it! I can put it wherever I want as long as I know where it’s at, and I knew where it was at. Somebody at some point messed with my Super Bowl ring, which I’m fine with. I mean, it’s just a hunk of metal. I’ll just have another one made. I think. They can do that, right?”

Travis, playfully annoyed, conceded. “I don’t know, Jason. Probably.”

“I guess we’re gonna find out,” Jason added.

There was no mention of Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on the latest episode of New Heights, despite speculation that Travis — and his family members — may have inspired lyrics for two of her heartwarming love songs.

On “So High School,” which is featured on the second half Taylor’s surprise double album — The Anthology — the 34-year-old songstress sings about the joy of a new romance that has her feeling like a teenager. The lyrics hint at a lover with a wicked sense of humor, not unlike her current boyfriend.

“I feel like laughing in the middle of practice again / To that impression you did of your dad again,” she sings on the song’s second verse. For his part, Travis has been known to deliver impressions of his dad, Ed Kelce, on New Heights.

Elsewhere on the album, Taylor drops a slew of football references on her song, “The Alchemy.” Fans were quick to hail it as a love song for Travis, taking note of one particularly detailed lyric.

“Shirts off, and your friends lift you up, over their heads / Beer stickin’ to the floor, cheers chanted ’cause they said / ‘There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league’ / Where’s the trophy? He just comes, running over to me,” she croons.

Notably, Jason stole the show by ripping off his shirt during Travis’ game against the Buffalo Bills in January. Jason later revealed that was the very first time he had ever met Taylor.

A source told ET on Monday, “Travis is so supportive of the entire album and loves that he is a part of Taylor’s story. He is a Swiftie through and through and is very proud of her.”

Football is a family sport, whether you love to watch it with your kids or play it with your siblings at family get-togethers. In fact, many of the sport’s biggest names got into it alongside their family members.

The most recent, popular example is Kansas City Chiefs tight-end, and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce – and his brother Jason Kelce, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles. Fans may even be familiar with their New Heights podcast.

But the Kelce brothers aren’t the only siblings to have success in the NFL – they might not even be the most famous.

Here are some of the best known brothers of the NFL.

Hailing from the Manning family dynasty, Peyton and Eli respectively took the NFL by a storm. The former, nicknamed ‘The Sheriff’, is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of all time, who played for 18 seasons – mostly at the Indianapolis Colts.

Eli also made a name for himself as New York Giants quarterback for 16 seasons. He led the team to victory in two underdog Super Bowl victories against the New England Patriots during its strongest era, when Tom Brady and coat Bill Belichick were working together.

Travis and Jason may be well known for their New Heights podcast and close brotherly relationship, but the brotherly duo also went head-to-head in 2023’s Super Bowl LVII.

The Chiefs may have beat the Eagles, but there were no hard feelings for the Kelce brothers who hugged it out after the match. Notably, as Jason retired from football, Travis could be seen tearing up over his brother’s departure.

Over the last three seasons, Lewis Hamilton’s frustrations have been evident because of Mercedes’ poor performance. This season, however, the seven-time world champion looks a lot happier. Per team principal Toto Wolff, Hamilton is content because he doesn’t have to think about driving for Mercedes next season as he moves to Ferrari- a team that is in a much better place.

While speaking to Servus TV in a recent interview (as quoted by Formula Passion), Wolff said,

Lewis is in a surprisingly good mood. I don’t know if it’s the knowledge that he will go somewhere else next year. But it’s not like him at all“.

Hamilton, who is usually a visibly unhappy figure in the paddock when his team underperforms, seems to be okay with Mercedes’ recent struggles. This per Wolff, is very unlike the Stevenage-born driver.

Hamilton does not seem to have much expectations from Mercedes this season. The Briton is currently ninth in the championship and has managed to score just 19 points, seven of which came during his P2 finish at the Chinese GP Sprint.

It is not just Hamilton who has been suffering. George Russell in the other Mercedes has performed only marginally better. The 26-year-old is currently seventh in the standings and has scored 33 points.

While Mercedes is struggling massively at the moment, Ferrari has had a decent start to the 2024 season. The team has already registered a few podiums, including a race win. In terms of the gap to Red Bull, Ferrari is much closer than Mercedes who arguably, has the fifth fastest car on the grid.

Lewis Hamilton frustrated with repeated Ferrari questions

Soon after Lewis Hamilton announced his decision to move to Ferrari in 2025, he made it clear that he remains completely focused on delivering the best possible results for Mercedes this year. However, Hamilton grows increasingly frustrated because most of the questions aimed at him are Ferrari-related.

The 39-year-old also lashed out at one reporter during the Japanese GP weekend for the same reason. When asked if he is looking forward to joining Ferrari because they are quicker than Mercedes, Hamilton replied, “Do you have any better questions?”

Hamilton could be more annoyed with Mercedes’ underperformance than he is about the repeated Ferrari-related questions. Considering how Hamilton and Mercedes have begun the 2024 campaign, it could be the third year in a row when the seven-time champion fails to win a race.

The Briton is currently far from winning as he has not even finished in the top five in a Grand Prix race so far this year, let alone a podium. On the other hand, since Ferrari has had a strong start to the 2024 season, Hamilton could be eager to move to Maranello with the hope that he will be able to end his wait for a race win.
