While the main subject ESPN’s 10-part documentary series “The Last Dance” is the 1998 Chicago Bulls and, especially, Michael Jordan, the project dives deep into the background of the team and how it came to be.

This means a lot of talk about Jordan’s rivalries with the likes of Magic Johnson’s Los Angeles Lakers and Isiah Thomas’ Detroit Pistons. It took Jordan many years to overcome Thomas and the ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons and when he was finally able to do so, it was Magic’s Lakers awaiting him in the 1991 NBA Finals.

Meaning, Jordan had to face two of the best point guards ever in the same playoffs. As a matter of fact, they were the two best period as far as Jordan is concerned.

In the documentary Jordan spoke about Thomas and while he respects his game, does not put him above Johnson in his all-time point guard rankings:

“I respect Isiah Thomas’ talent. To me, the best point guard of all-time is Magic Johnson, and right behind him is Isiah Thomas.”

Thomas is undoubtedly talented and is one of the greats, but this is just more evidence of how truly amazing and groundbreaking Magic Johnson was. His game, at his size is just something that can’t be replicated, and his desire to win at all costs, even while having a smile on his face, was unlike anyone else. This is why he won five championships and made four other Finals with the Lakers.

For the most part, anyone who has ever seen Magic play considers him the greatest point guard, and one of the greatest players ever period. He is constantly on fans and players’ all-time lineups and many have him in their top five list for the greatest NBA player of all-time. But when the praise comes from the player who most consider the greatest ever, it just means a little bit more.

Jordan and Magic faced off many times, including an especially intense one during practices for the 1992 Dream Team so Jordan knows and respects what Magic can do. Of course Thomas and Jordan aren’t the best of friends and there is surely still some disdain on Jordan’s part for him, but even without those feelings, Jordan’s point guard ranking are right in line with most others.

A game-worn jersey belonging to Michael Jordan from his sophomore season at the University of North Carolina was sold for a record $1.38 million on Saturday at Heritage Auctions.

It is the only known jersey photo-matched to Jordan’s 1982-83 season with the North Carolina Tar Heels when he was named Sporting News’ NCAA Player of the Year.

It broke the previous record for a Jordan jersey when a full, game-worn Chicago Bulls uniform from Jordan’s 1986-87 season was sold for $480,000 in October, also at Heritage Auctions.

“As the final price tag proves, this jersey has everything any serious collector could possibly want,” Chris Ivy of Heritage Auctions said.

On her Instagram Stories, Alabama, 18, shared a behind-the-scenes look of her and Kourtney getting ready for her wedding to Alabama’s father, Travis Barker, 48.

In 2022, Travis and Kourtney tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Italy.

In the candid snap, the daughter of the Blink-182 drummer and Shanna Moakler, 49, curled up barefoot in an oversized graphic T-shirt while looking down at her phone.

Meanwhile, the mom of four was getting glammed up as a person styled her hair.

Kourtney was also seen barefoot while wearing a plunging top and a nude-colored robe on top.

Spotted down at the bottom, Alabama wrote an emotional tribute to her stepmom.

Taylor’s much anticipated new album, The Tortured Poets Department, came out at midnight, and one song in particular quickly caught the attention of fans.

Many have pointed out the 24th track off the new album, thanK you aIMee, just so happens to have capital letters that spell out “KIM.”

Kim, 43, and Taylor, 34, are said to be in a bitter rivalry.

After the new song dropped, Taylor’s devoted fans took that as a cue to go after Kim.

They flooded the comments section of Kim’s recent post on Instagram – a shoutout to sister Kourtney on her 45th birthday.

The majority of the snarky comments simply quoted the name of the song.

Others said they were looking forward to seeing a Swift response.

“The way I ran to Instagram after thanK you aIMee,” one person commented.

“As soon as I heard the song, I couldn’t get here fast enough,” another echoed.

“Came to see if Swifties had made it here yet,” a third noted, adding a laughing emoji.

“Bahahah I just listened to (the) @kimkardashian diss song,” a fourth clapped. “Super clever, @taylorswift, much needed.”

BAD BLOOD

Taylor has been locked in a bitter feud with the Skims founder and her ex-husband Kanye West, 46, for years.

And lyrics in her new song seem to torture Kim.

“There’s a bronze spray-tanned statue of you and a plaque underneath it / That threatens to push me down the stairs, at our school,” she sings in one line.

In another part of the song, she sings, “And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues.

“And one day, your kid comes home singin’ a song that only us two is gonna know is about you.

“‘Cause all that time you were throwing punches.”

She appeared to be alluding to Kim and North dancing to Taylor’s 2014 hit, Shake It Off, on their joint TikTok in January 2023.

BIRTHDAY BLAST

Meanwhile, all Kim was trying to do was wish her sister a happy birthday.

But even that backfired on the reality star.

After Kim posted a snap of her with Kourtney and their sister Khloe, 39, in bikinis from their recent Turks and Caicos getaway, fans accused her of trying to outshine her older sis.

In the photo, Kim stood slightly away from her sisters and pouted at the camera while flashing a peace sign with her arms wide open.

Khloe stood with her arm around Kourtney, smiling at the camera, while Kourtney had her eyes closed and looked slightly blurry as if she was mid-action.

KANYE West’s wife Bianca Censori has shared her honest thoughts on Taylor Swift’s latest diss track about Kim Kardashian.

On Friday, April 19, the pop music sensation released her 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department.

With the album out at midnight on Friday, Taylor, 34, surprised fans with another album release at 2 am titled The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology with 15 additional songs on top of the original 16.

One song on The Anthology had fans convinced that it was about Taylor’s nemesis, Kim, 43.

thanK you aIMee is the 24th song on the album that had the letters K, I, and M in capital letters – spelling out KIM.

BIANCA’S TAKE

Just days after the release, a source dished on what Bianca, 29, thought of Taylor’s song.

The insider revealed to Life & Style that they wonder if Kanye, 46, will share his thoughts on the song, as well as Cassandra, which seemingly references the phone call between the rapper and Taylor.

The source told the news outlet “Bianca finds it all very amusing. I’ve heard she likes Taylor’s music and think it’s all fair play.”

Meanwhile, the source also said that the Blank Space singer “doesn’t care” about any possible “fallout” with the Kardashian matriarch.

“Taylor wouldn’t have written a diss track aimed at Kim if she wasn’t prepared for some sort of backlash,” they told Life & Style.

“But Taylor won’t be retaliating, the song speaks for itself. She clearly doesn’t care.”

WHAT STARTED IT ALL

The beef started between Kanye and Taylor when he interrupted her at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards after she won Best Female Video for her hit, You Belong With Me.

“Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” Kanye stated, referencing Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), also up for the award.

After the show, Taylor explained what happened from her point of view.

“I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I had just won the award. Then I was really excited because Kanye West was on the stage, then I wasn’t so excited anymore,” she said.

KIM’S INVOLVEMENT

Years later, everything seemed to be settled as Taylor presented Kanye with the Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV VMAs.

She even shared a picture of herself with flowers that Kanye gifted her.

However, things took a dark turn once Kanye released the music video for his 2016 hit, Famous.

Taylor was featured in a lyric that said, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have 𝑠e𝑥 / Why? I made that b***h famous / I made that b***h famous.”

In the Famous music video, a Taylor lookalike – along with other A-list celebrities – was seen sleeping naked in a large bed.

Before the song was released, Kanye called Taylor to get her permission on the lyrics, with Kim recording the conversation.

In a statement, Taylor claimed that while she knew of the lyric, she didn’t approve him calling her a b***h, with Kim stating otherwise.

In an interview with GQ, the TV personality said, “She totally approved that; she wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t.”

The entire phone call was later leaked in 2020, proving that Taylor knew nothing about the b***h lyric.

KEEPING THE FEUD GOING

At the end of 2023, Taylor was named Time’s Person of the Year and gave an honest interview about her feud with the Skims founder.

She revealed that the fallout was like “a career death” and that it was “taken away” from her.

Taylor said, “You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar.

“That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls.”

She claimed that she had trust issues after the incident and “pushed people away” because of it.

Michael Jordan’s “Dream Team” jacket from the 1992 Olympics is about to become a dream possession for a lucky buyer.

The Reebok warmup jacket that Jordan—a Nike athlete—reluctantly wore on the medal podium for Team USA is on the auction block at Sotheby’s through June 28. It is expected to fetch anywhere from $1 million to $3 million.

The United States easily won gold in Barcelona—beating Croatia by 47 points in the championship game—with a roster comprised almost entirely of NBA stars, who were not allowed to compete at the Olympics until a rule change by the International Basketball Federation in 1989. Thus the group, which also featured players like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Charles Barkley, received the “Dream Team” moniker and became an iconic part of basketball history.

Michael Jordan Didn’t Want the Jacket

So, not surprisingly, Jordan wasn’t happy when the U.S. Olympic Committee required Team USA athletes to wear their full Reebok uniforms on the medal stand in Barcelona. He ultimately complied and wore the jacket, but with one major alteration.

The five-time NBA MVP draped a large American flag over his right shoulder and down the front of his body—not so much as an act of patriotism, but to strategically hide the Reebok logos visible on the jacket and the right side of his pants. When Jordan left the medal stand, he tossed the jacket to Brian McIntyre, a member of the NBA’s communications department assisting players at the Olympics. “I certainly don’t want it,” he told McIntyre.

McIntyre received a personalized autograph from Jordan in 1994, and kept the jacket for almost another 30 years before deciding to bring it to auction. “I’ve enjoyed it, and it’s just the right time to do this,” he told The Associated Press. “And it’s easier to do this than leave things for my kids.”

McIntyre said Jordan is aware of his effort to sell the jacket.

Why Is Michael Jordan’s Jacket So Valuable?

The story of Jordan and the jacket was widely reported following the Games, and the NBA legend even discussed it in the Emmy-winning 2020 docuseries The Last Dance.

Given the Dream Team’s popularity and role in forever changing international basketball, items from its run to gold have historical significance. And as Sotheby’s head of streetwear and modern collectibles Brahm Wachter told The Associated Press, the jacket represents Jordan’s commitment to Nike—a “transformative and revolutionary partnership between two powerhouses that has stood the test of time.”

“To be able to sell this relic from such a historic world event—one that is often credited for multiplying the popularity and global reach of basketball—is both rare and unparalleled,” Wachter said.

So if you’d like to own the jacket and have a couple million dollars to spare, it will be on display at Sotheby’s New York from June 24-28 for prospective bidders.
