Celtics tighten up on defense to beat Heat 104-84 in Game 3

The Celtics and Heat were back where they were late in Game 1 in the third and final quarter.

Celtics - The official site of the NBA for the latest NBA Scores, Stats & News. | NBA.com

With just three points scored, Caleb Martin got into an altercation with Celtics players, and the undermanned Heat team shot just 32.1% from three in 28 attempts as Boston edged closer to a 30-point lead. As they went to their subs, Boston’s offensive rebounding, fast break, and 62% shooting from beyond the arc destroyed them.

Al Horford earlier deceived all of the Heat’s defenders with a full court pass to Derrick White, going from baseline to baseline. During a low-effort loss where the Celtics exploited them in every hustling category, White fed Brown at the hoop for an uncontested two points.

Boston played with a sense of urgency. Miami lost 104-84 at home and appeared frantic in the end. In the series, the Celtics are up 2-1.

On offense, the first quarter looked disturbingly similar to Game 3 as Brown started the game 0-for-4, pulling the ball against Tyler Herro on most possessions and finding it difficult to take advantage of him.

After the Heat destroyed Boston’s defense three nights prior, Miami’s offense was limited to a 12-point first quarter, 5-for-21 shooting, and a 1-for-9 efficiency from three-point range.

Eventually, a faster tempo allowed him to go 3-for-9. With their offense stagnating and Kristaps Porziņģis out for two minutes due to early fouls, the Celtics took full control of the game early on in their own end.

The game was blown wide by a 42-27 second quarter as a result. Boston used more pass-pass possessions and caused nine turnovers in the first half, which allowed them to move the ball quickly. After back-to-back three-pointers by Tatum and Sam Hauser to start the quarter, Erik Spoelstra had to call a timeout after one minute.

Four players were up in a press when Boston returned to the floor, and Hauser almost took Haywood Highsmith’s subsequent in-bounds pass. Midway through the quarter, Jrue Holiday extended his lead to 13 points.

He finished the half +26 without making a shot. Jrue Holiday tapped passes to Derrick White and Brown for the first five points of a 7-0 run in the half court and on the fast break, respectively. After that, White made the first of two put-backs, which helped him surge to 12 points in a three-minute period towards the end of the game.

Boston had a 21-point advantage at the half, grabbed eight offensive rebounds, shot 38.1% from three, and prevailed 3-9. After a shaky start, Brown finished 5-for-7, and Porzingis and Payton Pritchard added three more put-backs to finish with a combined 19 points following their poor shooting performances in Game 2.

The Heat countered by outscoring Boston 14–9 early in the third quarter, as their offense collapsed once more. Halfway through the first, a 10-2 run that reduced Boston’s advantage to 19 points was completed by Brown, who scored six of those points as the other Celtics started the game 1-for-5.

Tatum attempted the final shot of that run and missed it, missing a three that let Adebayo streak in transition for an easy slam. White was involved in every play as the Celtics responded 8–4 after the timeout, feeding Brown and Horford inside and making a layup and jump shot of his own.

After threes from Horford and Holiday after the timeout, the Heat trailed by 26, and Herro threw the ball off Hauser, who was given a technical foul.

As the quarter came to a close, Pritchard spoke with Herro and Martin. Miami looked to Thomas Bryant and Patty Mills deep off their bench to find any offensive production.

Due to personal reasons, Delon Wright was unable to participate, which further reduced the starting lineup of the Heat by removing Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, and Duncan Robinson—the latter of whom was hardly able to play at all.

Throughout the fourth quarter, they trailed by 20 points. Tatum and Brown kept the Heat under pressure inside the arc, scoring 22 points apiece, while Porzingis scored 18 points from the free throw line.

Miami will host Game 4 on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Lebron James Considers Retirement After Lakers Loss In Western Conference Finals: ‘I Got A Lot To Think About’

    https://image2.affcoder.com/storage/images/1694838445onF7UpmlXarQspfdo9sp.jpg

Lebron James said he’s considering retirement after the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs during Monday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets.

The 38-year-old dropped 40 points in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, but the team fell short with a 113-111 loss to the Nuggets.

ESPN reported that James spoke with reporters after the game and shared his thoughts on the 4-0 sweep and his career moving forward.

“Going forward with the game of basketball, I’ve got a lot to think about,” James said at a post-game news conference, per ESPN.

After the news conference, an ESPN reporter asked him to elaborate on his comment about his NBA career. James replied, “If I want to continue to play,” insinuating that him suiting up in a Lakers jersey next season is not certain.

The Ohio native wrapped up his 20th season in the NBA and said his right foot injury was a factor in his postseason performance. James said he knew he had to play through the pain and didn’t doubt his ability to make it through the series.

“I knew I could get to the finish line,” James told ESPN. “Obviously, I knew I had to deal with it and deal with the pain or deal with not being able to be myself before the injury, but there was nothing that made me feel like I couldn’t get to the finish line.”

James also said he plans to undergo an MRI over the summer to determine if he needs surgery.

“I’m going to get an MRI on it and see how the tendon either healed or not healed and go from there. We’ll see what happens,” he said.

An insider close to James told ESPN that the postseason was mentally and physically draining for the four-time NBA champion. According to the source, James faced various difficulties in the rounds against the Memphis Grizzles, Golden State Warriors and the Nuggets.

The Lakers are also facing salary cap issues, with no major sign of being able to greatly improve the roster next season, TMZ reported.

LeFirst! Bronny, Bryce, Zhuri, and Savannah do their best LBJ imitation

Even though LeBron James is one of the most famous players in the world, his wife, Savannah, and his three children still find ways to make fun of him. The King’s three children, Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri, also have him cornered.

James’ UNINTERRUPTED brand published a video on Instagram featuring Bronny performing his father’s now-iconic celebration. The video was produced by Beats by Dre. The freshman at USC then continues to impersonate LBJ while describing King’s typical day.

“I’m leaving for my 5am workout,” Bronny says, mimicking LeBron James’s signature line. “Come home, take a two-hour nap, you know, go back to the gym at like 5pm, then have some ice cream and go to sleep.”

Savannah then performs a fantastic impersonation of James doing a reverse dribble on a basketball court. Meanwhile, Zhuri wrote his introduction in chalk.Zhuri also complained that her father is quite loud whenever he yawns, which prompted Bronny to flawlessly perform the “LeBron Yawn.”

When Bryce mimicked his dad’s yawn, he appeared a little more self-conscious than usual.

“It Be Ya Own People!!!” James used X (previously Twitter) to express his thoughts.

Stephen A. Smith falls to knees while pleading LeBron James and Anthony Davis for one thing

Stephen A. Smith is known for making outrageous claims. In reality, he is far more ordinary than he appears on TV to be.

Because of his uncomplicated nature, he takes pleasure in the warm weather, especially in California. Smith needs some help from some Los Angeles Lakers players to really appreciate that climate, especially in the summer.

Anthony Davis is beseeched by Stephen A. Smith. On Friday’s episode of First Take, Smith knelt down and begged Anthony Davis to bring his “A-game” every night if the Lakers were to make the NBA Finals this season.Smith poked fun at Denver, claiming he doesn’t want to go there for the Finals because he had to go there last year when the Nuggets won the championship.

Smith realizes that the Lakers have no chance unless Davis performs like the 8-time All-Star that he is. During his time with the Lakers, Davis has been erratic due largely to injuries. The Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, and Davis was a major reason why. He scored 30 points on 58.8 percent shooting, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had three steals and blocks. If the power forward continues to play like that night after night, the Lakers and Smith have a chance to win a championship again.

There is no doubt that LeBron James is one of the athletes who has the most impact on culture all around the world. However, the athlete has been putting in a lot of effort ever since he was in high school, and that has contributed to both his talent and his fame today. During his NBA draught, LeBron James was selected with the first overall pick. As a result of his success with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Lakers, he is currently one of the athletes who earn the most money, since he signed a four-year contract worth $153 million with the Los Angeles Lakers. The superstar has accumulated a staggering $400 million fortune as a result of his successful acting career and other business sponsorships. James’ lifestyle as a millionaire is mostly characterized by the ownership of extravagant real estate, the acquisition of accessories, the taking of family holidays, and the driving of luxury automobiles.

A serious automotive enthusiast, LeBron James has a collection of automobiles that is valued at more than $2.5 million. His garage houses a diverse collection of automobiles, ranging from reasonably priced to among the quickest in the world. Let’s take a look at the athlete’s most costly car collection, shall we?

    Ferrari 599 ($165,000)

The Ferrari 599 which is now one of LeBron James’ three Ferrari automobiles was a present to himself from LeBron James on the occasion of his 25th birthday in the year 2009. According to some, the vehicle is fitted with a potent V12 engine that is capable of producing a staggering 612 horsepower. The car has a top speed of 214 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in under 3.3 seconds.

    Ferrari 458 Spider ($234,000)

The 458 Spider, like every other Ferrari in King James’ collection, is painted to the owner’s specifications. James chose a darker hue than the original black paint of the Spider, which was included in the Ferrari’s design to meet the customer’s specifications. A V8 engine propels the vehicle to a maximum speed of 199 mph.

    Bentley Continental GT ($202,500)

The Bentley GT is a high-end coupe that can be purchased in 2018, and it contains potent technology both on the outside and inside of the vehicle. The combination of its robust twin-turbo V12 engine and cutting-edge driver-aid technologies results in a driving experience that is truly unlike any other. A dual-clutch gearbox with eight speeds and an all-wheel drive system is also available for this model.

    Kia K900 ($59,900)

In 2019, the athlete became Kia’s first-ever luxury ambassador, and he also added a K900 to the expansive collection he already possessed at the time. The flagship four-door sedan debuted in 2012, one year prior to its introduction in the American market. There are two engine options available for the K900: a 3.8-liter V6 with 311 horsepower or a 5.0-liter V8 with 420 horsepower. According to Auto Evolution, the vehicle in question was conceived of as a result of a joint endeavor that was given the name The King James Edition.

    Mercedes-Maybach 57 S ($380,000)

The Mercedes-Maybach 57 S is from the manufacturer’s Special Edition lineup and is a car that is truly befitting of a king. While he was still playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, he bought the car and had the number plate number customized to read “KING OF OH.” This was his way of showing support for the team. The luxury vehicle is powered by a Mercedes-AMG engine and has a maximum speed of 171 miles per hour.

    Rolls Royce Phantom ($450,000)

The famous basketball player celebrated his 25th birthday in grand fashion and was showered with lavish gifts from family and friends. His close friend and former colleague Shaquille O’Neal gave him a brand new Rolls Royce Phantom automobile as a present. The remarkable vehicle is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of its class anywhere in the world. It is powered by a potent V12 engine, which enables it to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.1 seconds.

    Lamborghini Aventador Roadster ($670,000)

In 2013, the athlete was presented with a brand new Lamborghini Aventador Roadster that had been customized. Rich B. Caliente is credited with designing the Roadster’s floral livery, which Luxury Launches claims was inspired by the Mediterranean. The flowery pattern was created with motivation from the floral pattern found on James’ then-most recent collaboration with Nike, which was called the Nike LeBron X1 ‘King’s Pride’ shoes.

    1957 Chevrolet Impala ($69,995)

The 1957 Chevrolet Impala is one of the vehicles in his collection that he considers to be among the most valuable. James’s passion for vintage automobiles inspired him to completely refurbish the convertible. The freshly refurbished automobile flaunts a paint job that is a glossy shade of purple with white highlights. Additionally, the wheels have been enlarged, and the spokes have been painted a deep purple color. As a statement-making finishing touch, the rear wheels have been wrapped around.

    Chevrolet Camaro SS ($48,500)

The NBA star has a collection of vehicles, one of which is an economical yet exciting vehicle called a Chevrolet Camaro SS. This vehicle has a customized white paint job with wheels that match. The Chevrolet bowtie logo on the front grille of the Camaro SS, which was purchased in 2011, is painted pitch black to ensure that it is visible from a distance. The trims of the car are painted white.

    Porsche 911 Turbo S ($207,000)

LeBron and his close companion Dwayne Wade both enjoy Porsche automobiles. In his garage, the former keeps a Porsche 911 Turbo S. According to The Sun, it is equipped with a 3.8-liter flat-six cylinder engine that generates 640 horsepower and reaches a maximum speed of 205 miles per hour as part of the Turbo S series.

The NBA superstar has diversified his car collection by acquiring vehicles from the world’s leading manufacturers. Among the other notable automobiles in his collection are the Ferrari f430 Spider and the Mercedes-Maybach S 650. The celebrity’s most recent acquisition is a GMC Hummer EV worth $112,959 in 2021.

  • Mega Blockbuster Trade Idea Between Lakers And Warriors That Should Happen This Summer..

Mega Blockbuster Trade Idea Between Lakers And Warriors That Should Happen This Summer..

The Lakers will almost certainly lose the series to the Denver Nuggets and they should trade Anthony Davis this summer.

Mega Blockbuster Trade Idea Between Lakers And Warriors That Should Happen This Summer
The Los Angeles Lakers disappointed their fans across the world on Thursday night. Going down 0-3 in the series against the reigning NBA champions means the Lakers have lost 11 straight games to the Nuggets. That is an unacceptable record and there are doubts about this team winning an NBA championship with LeBron James on the roster. The King is 39 years old and the Lakers need to find a way to maximize his talents as he has a $51,415,938 player option this summer and will likely only stay if the roster improves.

Anthony Davis is the player the Lakers have to move because even if he dropped 33 points last night, his impact and presence are not there consistently. The Lakers need to gamble to build a competitive roster around LeBron James, especially after Anthony Davis’ comments unnerved the Lakers franchise earlier this week. It could be time for a breakup, and the team that is on the opposite side to facilitate a deal is the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors lost to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament and their star Stephen Curry has been watching from home, meaning they also want to shake up the roster for a major resurgence next season. In what can be considered a mega blockbuster trade for the ages, the Lakers can trade Anthony Davis to the Warriors for a package centered around Draymond Green.

    Trade Package

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, 2027 First-Round Pick, 2029 First-Round Pick

Golden State Warriors Receive: Anthony Davis

This blockbuster deal will shake the NBA grounds rather considerably, especially in the Western Conference, and here is why this deal works for both sides this summer.

Los Angeles Lakers Add Defenders, Young Stars, And Build Chemistry

The Los Angeles Lakers would be making a strategic move aimed at shoring up their defense, infusing their roster with youthful talent, and potentially setting the stage for a post-LeBron era. Anthony Davis (24.7 PPG, 12.6 RPG, 2.3 BPG), despite his undeniable talent, has been a source of frustration for Lakers fans due to his injury woes and perceived inconsistency in effort. His recent comments have further strained relations within the organization. It has been a love-hate relationship with Davis and it might be time to move on.

By trading Davis to the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers would acquire a versatile and seasoned defender in Draymond Green, whose championship experience and close relationship with LeBron James could help foster team chemistry and establish a defensive identity. With Green (8.6 ppg, 7.2 RPG, 6.0 APG), the Lakers will improve defensively and he could also help nurture players such as Rui Hachimura who occupies the same position.

Additionally, receiving promising young prospects in Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, along with future first-round picks, offers the Lakers the opportunity to cultivate talent for the future, especially as they prepare for LeBron’s eventual retirement. Kuminga had a breakout season, posting 16.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, and looks to be heading toward being a two-way star. Moody, in particular, could potentially develop into a valuable asset for the Lakers’ long-term plans because he is only 21 years old and averaged 8.1 points per game this season.

In terms of next season, the Lakers will improve their defense and also give Kuminga a chance to prove he can be an All-Star. If there is one player who can improve his play, it is LeBron James. A lineup of D’Angelo Russell (re-signs), Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Jonathan Kuminga, and Draymond Green will be able to run up and down and switch on defense. Overall, this trade package not only addresses immediate needs but also positions the Lakers for sustained success.

Golden State Warriors Re-Tool With Size And Solve Their Problems

The Golden State Warriors will aim to address several pressing issues that have emerged during the season. Draymond Green’s behavior and declining production have become concerns for the team, particularly with his age surpassing 34. His four on-court ejections and off-court demeanor suggest that his tenure with the Warriors may be coming to an end.

By acquiring Anthony Davis from the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors would inject size and dominance into their frontcourt, alleviating some of the pressure on their aging core. Sacrificing promising young talents like Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, along with future draft picks, is a significant but necessary move to secure a player of Davis’s caliber.

With Davis anchoring the paint, the Warriors could potentially create a formidable superteam, with Klay Thompson re-signing and Andrew Wiggins (13.2 PPG, 4.5 RPG In 2023-24) assuming a starting role alongside Stephen Curry. The Warriors have always dominated in recent seasons without the presence of a big man, but Davis fits in since he can space the floor and also run on the break.

Curry and Thompson will space the floor exceptionally well around Davis and Wiggins will likely find his best spot again as a wing player who is the fourth option. This reshuffling of the roster not only addresses chemistry issues but also provides Thompson with another opportunity to thrive alongside a dominant big man, potentially propelling the Warriors back into title contention for another championship run.

A Last Chance To Win A Championship For Both Teams

In what could be viewed as a last chance for championship glory, both the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers are making bold moves to maximize their title aspirations. For the Warriors, acquiring Anthony Davis alongside a re-signed Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins presents a formidable roster anchored by the unparalleled shooting of Stephen Curry. This combination offers Golden State a final opportunity to capture another championship before potential roster changes loom as Curry is over 36 years old with the end in sight.

Conversely, the Lakers, with LeBron James leading the charge alongside Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, and a re-signed D’Angelo Russell, are assembling a squad with defensive prowess and youthful energy, providing one last shot at championship glory as LeBron’s career enters its twilight. Both teams are banking on their revamped rosters next season because neither of them can run it back.

Following the Lakers’ rather disappointing loss on Thursday night, Anthony Davis’ days in Los Angeles could be numbered. As he is over 31 years old and counting, the big man might not be as dominant as he used to be and this season could be the last for him. If the Lakers want to run it back with LeBron James, they need to make changes and a new roster could give them one more chance to win it all with The King.

The Los Angeles Lakers avoided a sweep in Game 4 on Saturday night, snapping their 11-game losing streak vs. the Denver Nuggets. Forcing a Game 5 in Denver, the Lakers still have a ton of work to do in order to overcome a 3-0 deficit, but they are now on the board in this series.

LeBron James has been great all series, and finished this game with 30 PTS, 5 REB, 4 AST, and 3 STL on an efficient 14/23 from the field. According to Basketball Reference’s StatHead, James is the oldest player in NBA playoff history with this line in a game. At 39 years old, James passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who achieved this line at age 37 in 1984. The Lakers needed this big night from James, as they were able to finally hold a lead against the Nuggets and pick up a victory.

As previously mentioned, the Lakers are still staring at a massive deficit, down 3-0 to the Nuggets heading to a Game 5 in Denver. That said, Los Angeles is trying to take things one game at a time, and now has a win against Denver for the first time in a long time. The Lakers will try to send this series back to Los Angeles with a win on the road vs. Denver in Game 5.

  • LeBron James was ABSOLUTELY INFURIATED at the coaching staff for not challenging a clear out of bounds call

LeBron James was ABSOLUTELY INFURIATED at the coaching staff for not challenging a clear out of bounds call

LeBron James was infuriated by a miscalled out-of-bounds play that Darvin Ham could have challenged.

The Los Angeles Lakers engaged the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of their crucial Eastern Conference quarterfinal matchup. The Lakers put on a dominating performance under the leadership of LeBron James; however, things did not go smoothly toward the end of the game. James appeared to get upset at head coach Darvin Ham after he failed to challenge an official’s call.

LeBron James goes scorched earth near Lakers bench after miscall

Los Angeles was on defense nine minutes into the fourth quarter when Kentavious Caldwell-Pope drove toward the paint. LeBron James met Caldwell-Pope before he was able to penetrate, and the Nuggets star fumbled the ball out of bounds. However, the officials ruled that James was the last one to touch the ball.

As a result, James got upset about the play and appeared to want Darvin Ham to challenge:

A replay seemed to show that Caldwell-Pope was indeed the last player to touch the ball before it went out of bounds. Therefore, James’ frustration is understandable:

Despite the mishap, James and the Lakers continued their offensive assault on the Nuggets and came away with a 117-108 win. James ended the heated matchup with a team-high 30 points along with five rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block. The 39-year-old showed up when LA needed him the most, and he was not alone.

Anthony Davis put on a commanding 25-point-24-rebound performance. The star big man is playing some of the best basketball of his career, and it comes at the right time. Davis’ efforts were aided by D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves, who each scored 21 points a piece.

Los Angeles lives to fight another day after being down 3-0 in the series. They avoided a clean sweep and will get the chance to get the matchup to 3-2. Nevertheless, Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets do not want LA to linger around.

Jokic amassed a triple-double on Saturday night, tallying 33 points, 14 assists, and 14 rebounds. However, it was not enough to get Denver over the hump. He and his teammates will be sure to return strong in Game 5 in hopes of a ticket to the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

LeBron James and company will do all they can to prevent that from happening though. Can the Lakers keep surviving and advance?
