Taylor Swift has asked her fans to take part in her #ForAFortnightChallenge to celebrate the launch of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD).

To join the game, Swifties have to post 14 clips from 14 moments of their lives over two weeks, a reference to Fortnight, Swift’s lead single in which she had a duet with American singer Post Malone.

American pop sensation Swift, 34, kick-started the game on April 20 with a romantic video compilation on YouTube Shorts, where she was seen receiving a peck on the cheek from her boyfriend, American football tight end Travis Kelce, 34.

Other snippets included her baking cinnamon rolls, sewing and working out. But what stood out in the recap of Swift’s fortnight was a brief snapshot of her and Kelce, standing hand-in-hand, taking in the sight of the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay.

There was also a clip of her sipping cocktails at what looked to be Koma Singapore. Swift reportedly dined at the Japanese restaurant in Marina Bay Sands on two occasions – Feb 28 and March 8.

She performed six concerts at the National Stadium in March as part of her globe-spanning The Eras Tour. Singapore was the last stop before she took a break to promote TTPD. The Europe leg of her tour begins in May.

Meanwhile, TTPD smashed records on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music since its release on April 19.

Apple Music said TTPD broke the all-time record for the biggest pop album by first-day streams. Both Spotify and Amazon Music announced that the double album was also the most-streamed album on their respective platforms in a single day.

Spotify shared on X that TTPD was the first album in Spotify history to have more than 300 million streams in one day. The previous record-holder was Swift’s Midnights (2022), which amassed 184.6 million streams in a day.

The music streaming platform added that Fortnight (Feat. Post Malone) became its most-streamed song in a single day as well.

Jack Antonoff is proud of his latest work with Taylor Swift.

On Friday, April 19, the record producer and longtime collaborator, 40, posted behind-the-scenes photos and footage of Swift, 34, recording her new album The Tortured Poets Department as he reflected on his time creating the project with the singer.

Antonoff, who is credited as the producer on Swift’s latest album which was released on Friday, described it as “my favorite work we have made together” on Instagram as he shared snaps of Swift in the studio and a clip of her singing the track “Black Dog” — which appears on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, the surprise double album version of the new record that Swift announced at 2 a.m. on April 19.

“TTPD is here,” he wrote in the caption. “My favorite work we have made together / made in the most wild unhinged moment. All the pain distilled in this album and all the laughter that came out of it. I will hold those days in the studio forever as the most inspiring of my life. I adore this album and the way it came together. “

Antonoff continued with a list that detailed each photo included in the post, which included songs the singer and producer recorded together for the album and shout outs to the album, audio engineer Laura Sisk and Swift herself.

“ttpd FOREVER. 1- the day we made down bad. 2- fots day. 3- florida. 4- laura sisk forever. 5- black dog. 6- electric lady. 7- i love you taylor!” he wrote.

The Bleachers frontman then credited the contributors of the album, including featured artists Post Malone and Florence Welch, before signing off with, “from 1989 to TTPD,” referring to the first and latest albums he has recorded with Swift.

Included in the post were grainy Polaroids of Swift sitting on a couch with her phone and her singing in a cozy-looking recording booth. In one video shared, Swift wore headphones as she sang “Black Dog” into a microphone indoors while surrounded by vases of plants and flowers.

Swift was joined by Welch, 37, in an array of other Polaroids taken as the pair embraced and laughed on a couch indoors, seemingly during the time they recorded the track “Florida!!!” together, which features on the new album. Another black-and-white snap showed Swift sitting on Sisk’s lap in a recording studio.

Antonoff also shared a snap of a drum kit that appeared to be from Electric Lady Studios in New York City, a favorite recording location for Swift and her producer friend. The final snap in the carousel showed the “Blank Space” singer wearing a pair of black, circular-framed glasses that seemed to be the same ones usually worn by the producer himself.

Antonoff and Swift’s friendship and collaborative partnership first began in 2012, at which time the pair worked on the song “Sweeter Than Fiction” for the One Chance movie soundtrack.

The friends have since created many of Swift’s greatest hits, including her Grammy-winning albums 1989 and Folklore, cementing their musical relationship together.

Following the release of TTPD, Antonoff also praised the album on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “love this album more than i can say …. love you all very much … more later very overwhelmed … love you Taylor.”

Post Malone is rocking a new aesthetic, but just for a fortnight.

The rapper, 28, covered all his tattoos to play Taylor Swift’s star-crossed lover in the new music video for their “Fortnight” collaboration. The track is the lead single for Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department, released on Friday, April 19.

Before its release, Swift, 34, said in an Instagram post that she was excited for fans to listen to it as she is “a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever.”

Swift also shows a different side of herself in one of the video’s opening scenes. Replicas of Malone’s facial tattoos appear on her face as she sings, “And for a fortnight there, we were forever / Run into you sometimes, ask about the weather / Now you’re in my backyard, turned into good neighbors /Your wife waters flowers, I wanna kill her.”

While the tattoos on her face disappear when she steps into another room to work on a typewriter, fans finally get a glimpse of Malone working on his own typewriter while sitting across from her.

After streams of pink and blue begin coming out of each of their typewriters, they form a bright spark. Following its disappearance, Swift is seen reading to Malone, with his tattoos no longer on his face, as they lie in the middle of an empty road.

As the camera zooms out, Swift is seen running into Malone’s arms and the two share a long embrace.

Malone gently grabs onto Swift’s face causing her to let out a smile. As papers begin to fly all around them, the two look into each other’s eyes and grab each other’s hands.

The intimate scene is followed by a look at Malone, now with his normal facial art, standing by men in lab coats as Swift receives shock therapy.

Back in February, Malone shared during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that working with Swift was “amazing.”

“She’s so sweet and so kind and talented and she hit me up and said, ‘Let’s do it.’ And I was like, ‘Hell yeah,’ ” he recalled.

On April 19, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT was the first album in Spotify history to have over 300 million streams in a single day. Less than 12 hours after release, it became the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024, but the records continued to fall throughout the day as the album became the first to cross the 200 million and 300 million stream mark.

Additionally, the album broke another record on release day as “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)” became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history. 

Fans had been eagerly awaiting the album’s release since the star announced it at the Grammys in February. As the anticipation grew to a roar this week, Spotify was here to help turn up the volume. We brought the album to life with a library-themed art installation at The Grove in Los Angeles.

For three days, the iconic shopping mall featured an open-air poetry library highly curated to represent the direction of the new record. Each day of the activation, we revealed lyrics from the album, creating an ever-evolving adventure for everyone on the ground. Fans took to social media to share their excitement and dissect other potential clues they could find.

Jυst as Sleeping Beaυty was revived — with a kiss, according to the Brother’s Griмм version of the centυries-old fairy tale — the new collection will revive rarely seen clothing, with soмe iteмs dating as far back as 400 years into the past.

Soмe of the oldest iteмs are so fragile froм the ravages of tiмe and environмent that they can’t be мoυnted υpright, lest they мight disintegrate, so they’ll will be kept horizontal in glass cages, jυst like another incapacitated fairy tale figure, Snow White, thoυgh the exhibit is focυsed on the easy-to-destroy iteмs, rather than direct fairy tale connections.

Andrew Bolton, the Wendy Yυ Cυrator of the Costυмe Institυte, explained that 15 iteмs of historical and aesthetic significance that have decayed too мυch to ever be safely worn again will be the highlights of the new exhibit.

‘These are the “Sleeping Beaυties” of the title,’ he explained in an annoυnceмent.

Althoυgh the iteмs will have to stay behind glass for their safety, the exhibit will υse a variety of techniqυes, inclυding centυries-old мirror tricks, aniмation and coмpυter-generated effects, to bring the oυtfits to life.

Soмe of the oldest designs, which date back to the 17th centυry, woυld look right at hoмe on мany popυlar fairy tale figure, while the мost recent oυtfits froм this centυry were designed by designers Stella McCartney, Phillip Liм and Connor Ives, aмong others, according to Vogυe.

There will be plenty of looks froм the past centυry, inclυding designs froм Christian Dior, Hυbert de Givenchy, Yves Saint Laυrent and Elsa Schiaparelli.

The variety of oυtfits will fall into three ‘zones,’ the theмes of ‘Land, Sea, and Sky,’ which will reportedly draw a connection between the clothing and the natυral world.

The dress code for Met Gala attendees was also annoυnced as ‘The Garden of Tiмe,’ which was inspired by a 1962 short story of the saмe naмe by the acclaiмed English writer J. G. Ballard.

In the story, a coυnt and coυntess living in a fantasy kingdoм protect their υtopian world by plυcking flowers froм their garden, which set back tiмe and delay the arrival of a violent мob seeking to destroy their kingdoм. However, they have to plυck flowers faster than they can be replaced, so their efforts are eventυally in vain.

It’s believed that 34 year old Taylor took aim at Matty in the song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, following a short-lived romance between the pair back in June 2023.

Now, in a chat with the Daily Mail, Matty’s family have broken their silence on how the singer would react to it all. His aunt Debbie Dedes said: “He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on.”

Debbie – who is sister to Matty’s mum and Loose Women star Denise Welch – continued: “She writes about all her relationships, doesn’t she? I don’t think it will come as a shock to him at all.”

The 1975 singer is thought to be dating model Gabbriette Bechtel, and his aunt said he is, “very happy in his new relationship so I’m sure he will be focussing on that.”

Lyrics in Taylor’s song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived include “tried to buy some pills” and “didn’t measure up in any measure of a man.”

Matty has opened up about his drug issues in the past and also said in interviews he is tired of speculation about his height, claiming to be 5ft 10ins, but dwarfed by other members of The 1975. He told The Fader in 2018: “Everyone in [the 1975] is 6ft 4ins and I’m 5ft 10ins, so everyone thinks that I’m 5ft 5ins.”

Meanwhile, fans have also interpreted the lyrics to the first song on Taylor’s album titled Fortnight, featuring US star Post Malone, to be about Matty, as well as Guilty As Sin where she sings about having “fatal fantasies” for someone from her past while in a relationship.

Taylor and Matty’s first encounter was on November 19, 2014, at a 1975 concert which Taylor attended with her squad, including Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding. Fast forward to May 2023, and the rumour mill went into overdrive as Matty showed up at Taylor’s Eras Tour in Nashville.

Record-breaking Bearman’s moment in the spotlight came after he got the call to be a replacement for Carlos Sainz in Saudi as the star underwent surgery for appendicitis.

The Ferrari prodigy became the youngest Brit to ever race in F1 and is the third youngest driver ever.

Bearman managed to place in front of compatriots Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris as well as Nico Hulkenberg – who he was involved in an awkward moment with afterwards.

Bearman’s passion for motors came from his father, David, who had raced at club level and quickly became a “nerd” and able to identify every make and model of car on the road at a young age.

Formula One will hand out points to the top 12 finishers in races from next season if a controversial revamp is approved on Thursday.

It would extend the old way of rewarding the top 10 drivers, itself an evolution from a previous scoring system that acknowledged the top six.

It is understood that the leading teams are considering whether to support the move, which is up before the F1 Commission in Geneva, though most of will ‘attend’ remotely.

 

The proposed move would then need the approval of the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council.

The idea has been mooted before and discarded, and may be again, though there is a greater desire to create interest down the field in a world championship in which the top five teams – Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Aston Martin – have dominated.
