Travis Kelce may be the highest paid tight end in the NFL, but Jimmy Kimmel still poked some fun at the Kansas City Chiefs star during his talk show on Tuesday (April 30).

 

“Congratulations to Travis Kelce,” Kimmel began in his show-opening monologue. “Travis Kelce signed a two-year contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs. He is now the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.”

Earlier this week, the 34-year-old tight end reached a two-year extension with the Kansas City Chiefs that will make Kelce the highest-paid tight end in the league, according to the NFL. Kelce is now under contract through the 2027 season and the deal adds $34.25 million to the two years remaining on his old deal, according to reports.

However, Kimmel joked that the salary is “gum money” to girlfriend Taylor Swift, who was added to Forbes World’s Billionaires List last month, as the “Fortnight” superstar amassed an estimated $1.1 billion fortune this year, according to the publication.

“Can you imagine being in a relationship where you make $34 million and you’re still the broke boyfriend?” Kimmel joked, before pointing out Swift’s major Billboard Hot 100 accomplishment following the release of her 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department.

He congratulated the star on being “the first artist in history to occupy all of the top 14 spots on Billboard’s Hot 100 list,” noting that “29 of the 31 tracks on her new album are in the top 50.”

“I feel like Taylor Swift at this point, if she wanted to, could win the Kentucky Derby,” Kimmel concluded. Watch his full monologue below.

Gigi Hadid’s 29th birthday fell over a week ago on April 23, 2024. But the Vogue cover girl only posted images from her special week to Instagram on Thursday.

 

The older sister of Bella Hadid was seen in two bikini images as she spent time with pals on her family’s farmhouse in Pennsylvania.

The blonde beauty enjoyed a two-tiered white birthday cake, swam in a pool, and spent time with her daughter Khai Hadid Malik, age three, whom she shares with ex Zayn Malik.

And she was also seen on the coast in Carmel, California as well as in Las Vegas, two places she reportedly visited with boyfriend Bradley Cooper, 49.

‘Ttwas my bday (week)  feelin so grateful,’ wrote the daughter of Yolanda Hadid in her caption.

Longtime friends Kylie and Kendall Jenner hit the like button as did Kourtney Kardashian.

While it has been reported that Kelce has plans to join Swift overseas as she continues her history-making tour, he was recently spotted in Kansas City with a friend, the Daily Mail first reported.

While there are thousands of miles between Kelce and Swift at the moment, that doesn’t mean the pair are not continuing to solidify their place as the ultimate power couple.

Both Kelce and Swift also donated to victims and families of the tragic Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl Parade shooting that left one woman dead and more than 20 people injured.

Swift donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and beloved Kansas City radio disc jokey who was killed in the shooting that occurred just outside the city’s historic Union Station on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Kelce also donated $100,000 to two sisters, ages 8 and 10, who were both shot in the leg while celebrating the Chiefs’ win with their family. Over half of the more than 20 people who were injured at the shooting were children.

Ahead of the Chief’s Super Bowl 58 win, Kelce said that he’s “very aware” of the impact his high-profile relationship with the most powerful pop star on the planet has on the NFL.

Mahomes’ furry friends have an Instagram page of their own, which recently featured a video by a dog expert, Thomas Davis. In the brief clip, Thomas can be seen taking Steel and Silver on a walk on two separate leashes. It seems to be their daily routine as whenever the ace trainer abruptly halts, so do the doggos. They are well-behaved and wait for their companion to continue to journey. But that’s barely scratching the surface.

Thomas stopped once more in the video and commanded Steel and Silver to ‘stay’, even dropping their leashes on the ground. And for the good dogs they are, the duo didn’t even move an inch and patiently waited for Thomas to restart. The professional trainer, however, wanted to show off how well-mannered Mahomes’ canines are, as he gave them separate commands of ‘sit’ and ‘down’, and to no one’s surprise, they obliged. The video caught Mahomes’ attention as well, who couldn’t help but share it on his Insta story. And if you’re wondering if the puppies got their reward for good behavior, they sure did; Thomas concluded the video by awarding them finger-licking snacks.

The Kansas City Chiefs officially withdrew the exclusive rights tender from LB Cole Christiansen on Friday.

The Kansas City Chiefs filled numerous roster holes in the 2024 NFL draft and proceeded to sign a slew of undrafted free agents. While assessing their rookies, the Chiefs appeared to have a change of heart regarding linebacker Cole Christensen.

KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson broke the news on Friday, May 3 that Kansas City “withdrew” their tender offer for Christiansen. The move came as a surprise since the Chiefs announced they placed an exclusive rights tender on Christiansen less than a month ago.

The former Army alum, who started his NFL career with the Los Angeles Chargers, joined the Chiefs’ practice squad in 2022. He appeared in one game that season, recording his first-ever NFL tackle against the Buffalo Bills.

During the 2023 season, he was elevated to the active roster five times. However, after rookie Cam Jones hit injured reserve in January, Christensen was signed to the active roster on January 17.

He appeared in three playoff games, mostly on special teams, and recorded 2 total tackles. Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. wrote after Christensen received his tender, “With training camps approaching soon, he will have a chance to improve his stock ahead of the 2024 season.”

The 26-year-old leaves Kansas City with two Super Bowl rings. The Chiefs also released Anthony Miller, Shi Smith and Jordan Smith,” Wilson posted.
