    5 Fashion-Forward Trends Rihanna Started

Rihanna: The name calls to mind so much more than one of the biggest pop stars on the planet.

She’s broken the Internet on more than one occasion, in bad-gal looks from the practically pantsless and the barely there sheer sheath dresses to the oversize, outrageously OTT outerwear.

It’s these same risks—an unapologetically fearless and instinctual approach to fashion and accessorizing (whether it be with razor-sharp micro-sunglasses or sensational Saint Laurent yeti boots straight off the runway)—that have made her year-old collaboration with Puma wildly successful and entirely Instagrammable.

Season after season, the collection affectionately known as Fenty x Puma speaks to the stunning off-kilter cool elements that Rihanna routinely embodies on the street and in the spotlight.

“You need to be sassifed!” the superstar-cum-designer once told Vogue of her most daring, paparazzi-ed looks. “You will never be stylish if you don’t take risks.” Now, she’s got her sights on the silver screen with a leading role in the upcoming Ocean’s Eight. But before RiRi goes and breaks the box office, catch her up-close and in-person at Vogue’s Forces of Fashion conference, where the pop star/style arbiter will step onstage in what we can only imagine will be an insanely covetable ensemble.

    Until then, here’s a flashback of Rihanna’s best-dressed, fashion-forward trends.

SHOCK: Travis Kelce reveals how he handles life as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, leaving fans surprised..

Travis Kelce has opened up on how his upbringing prepared him for life in the spotlight as Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend.

Kelce’s profile has skyrocketed since he started dating the pop sensation, whose new album includes songs seemingly about the Kansas City Chiefs star.

So far the tight end has not let the romance affect his performances on the field. Last season, he helped the Chiefs win a second successive Super Bowl.

Kelce was recently named the new host of ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity’ and he explained how his mother Donna ensured he was ‘comfortable’ with the spotlight.

‘I think it was all the home videos my mom used to have with the old handheld camcorder,’ he told ExtraTV.

‘I just always felt comfortable with the camera on me and the lights on me. And sure enough, I love a good challenge – I get excited for a challenge.

‘Something I haven’t done before, or something that really makes me focus – and be or do something I haven’t done before. There’s something about that that I have a love for.’

Kelce and Swift’s relationship blossomed during the 2023 NFL season but back in 2016, the tight end took part in ‘Catching Kelce’.

The reality show saw Kelce date 50 women – one from each state. Nearly a decade on, he remains a regular on our screens in commercials – and soon on ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity’.

But the 34-year-old has ruled out starring in a Kelce version of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’.

‘Oh no, the reality show is in my past, I don’t think I’ll ever do another,’ he said with a laugh.

‘I tell you what, I’m going to have to be out on that. But who knows? Maybe (brother) Jason and (his wife) Kylie – you pick up the reality life.’

Jason, the recently retired Eagles center, documented his 2022 season – when he faced Travis in the Super Bowl – for a show on Amazon Prime.

The brothers remain close, with Travis opening up on the importance of having Jason by his side ‘really all throughout my life’.

‘It started as a young kid, really understanding the value of family and what it can do for you,’ he said.

‘It just injected confidence and excitement in my life and I’ve been so fortunate, I’ve been able to just follow his footsteps through life – into the football world and who knows what happens after that.’

His friends were ready to party. He was ready to eat.

Yet when you break the NBA’s all-time scoring record, like LeBron James did Tuesday night, you have to spend some time talking about it.

James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA’s all-time scoring leaderboard with 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter. Following Tuesday’s game, he has 38,390 career points — more than anyone to play in the league.

Here’s some of what James had to say about his record-setting night and career:

On understanding the significance of the moment:

“ I don’t think it has hit. I had a moment obviously when it happened, and embracing that moment and seeing my family and my friends and people that’s been around me since I started this journey, even before the NBA. So definitely a great moment right there, very emotional just being a kid from a small town in Ohio. I had a moment there, but I don’t think it’s really hit me on what just transpired. As much as I tried to live in the moment, it was kind of a blur. But looking back there and seeing my guys back there and out there on the floor with my kids, my wife and my mom, you know, it’s just a surreal feeling.”

On the shot to break the record:

“To break the record, I was able to get to a really good spot on the floor where I’m really comfortable with and get to one of my patented fadeaway shots. I know a lot of people wanted me to go to the skyhook to break the record or one of my signature dunks, but my fadeaway is a signature play as well. And I was able to get it and it touched nothing but the bottom of the net, and that was pretty cool.”

To have Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in attendance:

“I just think it’s great for the game of basketball. When you talk about the years and years and years, I’m just a historian of the game so I know what guys like Kareem and Wilt and MJ and Magic and Bird and Oscar Robertson and Elgin Baylor, West. I could be up here all night talking about some of the greats and legends. For me, personally, it’s just an honor to be named with the greats, to be in the conversation with the greats who have played this game before me and some of the greats that is playing right now and there’s going to be some greats that play when I’m done playing the game. So, it’s a surreal feeling.”

    Are you the GOAT?

I don’t know, man. For me I think it’s great barbershop talk. It’s gonna happen forever and ever. If I was the GM or whatever the case may be of a franchise I was starting up and I had the No. 1 pick, I would take me. But that’s just me because I believe in myself, what I bring to the table, a guy that’s been able to transform his game over the course of 20 years, be able to play any position in this league, excel at any position. I can play 1 through 5. I’ve led the league in assists. I’ve been able to do whatever it is this game has wanted me to do and also transform my game as well.”

What’s the moment from tonight that you’ll always take with you?

“I write ‘the man in the arena’ on my shoe every single night, [a quote] from Theodore Roosevelt. Tonight, I actually felt like I was sitting on top of the arena tonight when that shot went in, and the roar from the crowd. I’m not sure if I would be able to feel that feeling again, unless it’s a game-winning Finals shot. But it won’t be a stop in play. Everything just stopped. It gave me an opportunity to embrace it and look around and seeing my family and seeing the fans and seeing my friends. It was pretty cool. I don’t really get to, I probably can count on my hands how many times I have cried in 20 years, either in happiness or in defeat. So that moment was one of them when I kinda teared up a little bit. It was a ‘I can’t believe what’s going on’ tears.”

Did you want to break the record tonight?

“Yeah, because my boys leave on a red-eye tomorrow night, so. Yeah. So, I just had the mind-set. I had to have the mind-set. I dressed for the occasion. like you said. I put on the headband because that’s where the journey started. I would’ve had to pay for another room in the hotel for another night for my boys. If I didn’t do it tonight they would’ve stayed till Thursday to watch this. So I’m very smart. No, but, tomorrow is not promised. And if I had an opportunity to do it tonight, and I was gonna try to make it happen. And I was still super efficient. I wasn’t out there just gunnin’. I was still super efficient and was able to get it done.”

On the ‘ride’ of his career:

“This ride has been, uh, it’s been fantastic. You know, we have a place in our hometown — not too far away from our hometown in Sandusky, Ohio, called Cedar Point. And every so many years, they come out with a new roller-coaster and we spent plenty of times just going up and testing out the new roller-coaster. And, many highs, many loops, how fast it is, whatever the case may be. And you get off, and just feeling so much excitement and just feeling you want to do it again. And my career has been like that. It’s been like one of the great rides at Cedar Point in the sense that your stomach drops at times, you’re excited, you’re yelling, sometimes you can’t breathe. But you always want to do it again.”

The deposition, though ostensibly focused on legal matters, quickly veered into territory that Bieber deemed off-limits. Despite repeated attempts by the opposing counsel to broach the subject, Bieber remained steadfast in his refusal to engage, citing privacy concerns.

For Bieber, the deposition represented not only a legal obligation but also an opportunity to assert boundaries regarding his personal life. • Scoring King: James passes Abdul-Jabbar for NBA points mark

Scoring King: James passes Abdul-Jabbar for NBA points mark

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar no longer is the NBA's all-time leading scorer. (Ashley Landis, AP)LeBron James got the first official statistic of his NBA career on a rebound. His next entry on the stat sheet was an assist.

Even then, points weren’t the priority. They never were.

Somehow, he became the most prolific scorer in NBA history anyway. It finally happened Tuesday night, the kid from Akron, Ohio, connecting on a step-back jumper to push his career total to 38,388 points and break the record that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar held for nearly 39 years.

James outstretched his arms after his 36th point of the night for the Los Angeles Lakers, threw both hands in the air, then smiled. Abdul-Jabbar rose from his seat and clapped. The game was stopped as members of James’ family, including his mother, his wife and their three children, took the floor for a ceremony recognizing the moment.

“It’s never gotten my juices flowing,” James told The Associated Press, when asked what the scoring record means to him. “I’m there now because I never, ever thought about it. The only thing I ever thought about was winning championships, maybe a couple MVPs, maybe defensive player of the year. But scoring championships and records, I’m telling you, that was never on my mind.”

Abdul-Jabbar — a longtime Laker and one of many celebrities and sports stars who made sure they were there to see history — became the league’s all-time leading scorer on April 5, 1984 and wound up retiring in 1989 with 38,387 points. It was a record that some thought would last forever, with very few even coming close. Karl Malone retired 1,459 points behind Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant was 4,744 points shy, and Michael Jordan was 6,095 points away.

James passed them all, then caught Abdul-Jabbar, too. The 38-year-old — who finished with 38 points in the Lakers’ 133-130 loss — did it in his 20th season. Abdul-Jabbar also played 20 NBA seasons.

“You’ve got to give him credit for just the way that he planned to last and to dominate,” Abdul-Jabbar told TNT.

And now, King James — a moniker he’s had since high school, when he was just a kid from Akron — is the NBA’s scoring king, with 38,390 points and counting.

“A record that has stood for nearly 40 years, which many people thought would never be broken,” NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said.

Abdul-Jabbar held the ball aloft, then handed it to James, the ceremonial passing of the torch. They posed for photos with Silver, then with one another. James wiped away tears from his eyes, then addressed the crowd.

“I just want to say, thank you to the Laker faithful. You guys are one of a kind,” James said. “To be able to be in the presence of such a legend as great as Kareem, it’s very humbling. Please give a standing ovation to the Captain, please.”

James then thanked his family and those who have supported him, including Silver and the late NBA Commissioner David Stern.

“I thank you guys so much for allowing me to be a part of something I’ve always dreamed about,” James said.

At least 16 different players have, technically, been the all-time leading scorer in league history — most of those coming in the opening month of the league’s existence in 1946, when everybody was starting from zero and nine different players were atop the scoring list in the first 16 days.

But only six have ended a season officially as the all-time leader: Joe Fulks, George Mikan, Dolph Schayes, Bob Pettit, Wilt Chamberlain and Abdul-Jabbar.

James will be the seventh name on that list, and he’s likely to stay there for a long time. No active player is within 10,000 points of James, who is under contract for two more years and is on pace to become the league’s first 40,000-point scorer sometime next season.

“Nobody will ever, ever touch it,” said Cleveland forward Kevin Love, a teammate of James on the 2016 title team. “The scoring record now will never be eclipsed. I don’t care. It will never, ever be touched. It will never happen again.”

James could have had the scoring record long ago, if so inclined. But he always preferred passing. James is behind only John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Chris Paul on the all-time assists list. None of them were, or are, close to the scorer that James is. Of that group, Paul comes closest, ranking 38th in NBA history.

And Paul is 17,000 points behind the new scoring king.

“I hadn’t thought of it that way, but that is very true,” Silver told AP in advance of the record-setting night. “I think it even adds — right? — to this this accomplishment for a guy who became a scorer because he determined that’s what was necessary to win. And you’re right, he probably doesn’t get enough credit for his selfless play, because there’s so much focus and attention on him. … I think it makes it that much more special, that he’d rather be known for his assists than his baskets.”

James is the only member of the NBA’s triple-quintuple club: at least 10,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists. There are 44 players to reach five digits in two of those categories.

He’ll almost certainly be the NBA’s all-time leader in earnings whenever he retires; when adding in the $97 million he’ll make over the next two seasons, he’ll be past $500 million in on-court salary alone. He’s a 19-time All-Star selection, tying an Abdul-Jabbar record. If he plays in the game on Feb. 19 in Salt Lake City, he’ll set a record for appearances.

Others, maybe, have been this good. That’s always a debate. But no one has ever been this good, for this long. James — a two-time champion in Miami, a champion in Cleveland in 2016 and a champion with the Lakers in 2020 — is averaging 30 points per game in his 20th season; only three other players have averaged more than 10 points per game this deep into their careers, none of those averaging more than Bryant’s 17.6 in his 20th and final season.

“I never did the, ‘OK, if I play this amount of time and I average this’ thing,” James said. “I’ve never done that with anything in my career. I always said, ‘If it happens, it happens.’”

    It happened.

LeBron James Breaks Kobe Bryant’s All-Time Christmas Day Scoring Record

Lakers star LeBron James scored 39 points against Brooklyn Nets on Saturday to blow past late franchise legend Kobe Bryant and become the number one all-time Christmas Day scorer.LeBron James Blows Past Kobe Bryant for Christmas Day Scoring Record | SLAM

James entered Christmas Day only 13 points shy of Bryant’s (395 points) record and two field goals (137) shy of passing Bryant for the most on Christmas as well. The King secured the scoring record during the second quarter and the field goal record during the first half and shot an efficient 7-11 from the field. James now has 422 overall points on Christmas Day.

Despite James scoring 39 points on 14-25 shooting, the Nets held off the Lakers late to win 122-115 and hand LA their fifth straight loss. While passing Bryant for any record is significant, losing makes the feat lose some of its impact for many players, including James.

“I don’t really care about the way I play if it comes in a loss,” James said after the game per USAToday.

James has won 10 games on Christmas Day, tied with Dwyane Wade for the most in NBA history. This was also James’ 16th Christmas Day game, tying the Black Mamba for most appearances in League history.
