Best-selling author Ayesha Curry and NBA star Stephen Curry are heading to HBO Max with a revival of Fremantle‘s classic game show Tattletales. The WarnerMedia streaming service has given a series order to Tattletales, hosted and executive produced by the husband-and-wife duo from Fremantle and Sweet July Productions.

The reimagined Tattletales will bring together celebrity couples to reveal hilarious insights about their relationship through fun challenges and games. The original Tattletales, produced by Goodson-Todman Productions in association with Fremantle, had two runs on the CBS daytime schedule between February 1974 and June 1984. It was hosted by Bert Convy, with several announcers including Jack Clark, Gene Wood, Johnny Olson and John Harlan providing the voiceover at various times.

Tattletales is produced by Fremantle and Ayesha Curry’s Sweet July Productions. The Currys serve as executive producers. But there were so many different factors in between. When it comes to business decisions, you have to ask the GMs, the presidents why certain things didn’t work out.”

Lastly, the star point guard admitted that he’ll think about what could have been playing alongside James a second time:

LeBron James will turn 40 years old next year but still wants to play in the NBA. Could LeBron, however, become a player-coach?

It is an interesting idea. His future with the Los Angeles Lakers is currently uncertain, and Darvin Ham was dismissed by LA on Friday. The idea of LeBron replacing Ham as the Lakers head coach while continuing to play is an intriguing one, but it probably will not happen.

According to an ESPN article from 2004, the NBA has forbidden teams from having player-coaches. This is because of the NBA’s salary cap, which was introduced during the 1983-84 season. Teams would be able to work around the salary cap by paying a player-coach less as a player and more as a coach.

For example, a team could give LeBron James a salary well below expectations for someone of his status as a player. The team could then overpay him as a coach. The league clearly wanted to eliminate this loop-hole.

Before the 1983-84 implementation of the salary cap, there were a number of player-coaches. Legends such as Bill Russell and Bob Cousy were among those who spent time as player-coaches.

Perhaps someday the player-coach will return. The NBA would need to ensure that there is no way to work around the salary cap for a player-coach, though.

Nevertheless, LeBron would probably make a great NBA head coach someday if he opts to pursue that path. He is focused on finishing his playing career for now.

LeBron has a player option for the 2024-25 season. He may choose to opt out and enter free agency for potentially the final time.

One element of James’ possible free agency to consider is the fact that Bronny James declared for the 2024 NBA Draft. Rumors have swirled that the Lakers would be interested in drafting Bronny if it meant they could keep LeBron as well.

The general belief is that LeBron wants to play at least one year with his son. So if Bronny ends up getting selected by a team, whether it is the Lakers or another squad, that team will instantly become linked to LeBron.

Of course, James also wants to win another championship. He’s already earned four NBA Finals victories, but adding at least one more to his resume would give him just one less than Michael Jordan’s six championships.

The Lakers also have question marks to answer. They lost in the first-round during the 2024 NBA playoffs. LA moved on from Darvin Ham, and they will look to make roster changes during the offseason as well.

Their strategy will likely depend upon LeBron James’ free agency decision. If he signs elsewhere, perhaps LA will try to rebuild. If James re-signs with the Lakers, though, the team will not have any other option but to try to win a championship.

As for the question of if LeBron James will become a player-coach, the answer is no for now.

 

Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka is launching a new media company in partnership with four-times NBA champion LeBron James aimed at telling stories that cross cultural barriers, the former world No 1 announced.

Hana Kuma, which translates to “flower bear,” will produce stories that are “culturally specific but universal to all audiences” and already has multiple projects lined up, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“There has been an explosion of creators of colour finally being equipped with resources and a huge platform,” Osaka, who has a Haitian father and Japanese mother, said in a press release about her newest venture.

“In the streaming age, content has a more global perspective. You can see this in the popularity of television from Asia, Europe, and Latin America that the unique can also be universal.

“My story is a testament to that as well. I’m so excited for what we are building at Hana Kuma. We will bring stories to life with this goal in mind: to make unique perspectives feel universal and inspire people along the way.”

James and Maverick Carter’s The SpringHill Company will serve as financing, operations and producing partner for Hana Kuma.

The production company is the latest project from the 24-year-old Osaka and her long-time agent Stuart Duguid. The duo also have a sports agency named Evolve, which signed Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios as the first member of their roster on Monday.

Osaka recently said she would be skipping Wimbledon for the second year in a row. She has not competed on tour since a first-round loss at the French Open last month.

According to Forbes, Osaka became the world’s highest-paid female athlete in 2020 by earning about $37m thanks to a long list of sponsorship deals.

More recently, she has been taking steps to broaden her brand beyond the tennis court. Asked about Evolve at Roland Garros, Osaka said: “I think role models are really important, just to see somebody do something – and it makes you feel like you can do the same thing, too.

The family of seven struggled to make ends meet and Giannis fell during a workout because he was so hungry all the time.

Giannis’s largest challenge following the selection was adjusting to his new teammates, who cruelly harassed their rookie, who was only 19 years old.

However, the fact that he was skipping meals and not receiving enough nutrition made even exercising difficult.

According to Fader, during one session, Giannis started “gasping for air” because he was so weak that he “could not go on any more” and finally passed out.

His teammates continuously gave him food after the incident, discovering later that he had not eaten anything during the day.

After his game, Thanasis, Giannis’ brother, would give Giannis a set of sneakers so he could play immediately thereafter.

But the family faced more challenges in society than just their low socioeconomic standing.

Growing up as Black people in a predominantly White nation, Giannis’s younger brother Alex said they were often made to feel like “outsiders.”

This was particularly true in terms of race, as passersby referred to Giannis as “blackie” and advised him to “go back to your country.”

Rahman Rana, a Pakistani-born player on Giannis’ team, recalled: “People really treated him badly.”

“We received second-class treatment as citizens.”

Fader scathingly claims that they accelerated the process only when Giannis garnered interest from basketball clubs and his family contacted the Nigerian embassy in Greece.

In May 2013, Giannis was finally granted a passport, but the NBA draft loomed large.

It was only until US professional leagues began showing interest in Giannis, that the Greek government finally gave him citizenship and a passport
