    Should LeBron James retire soon?

Charles Barkley, LeBron James retirement, Lakers
Father Time is undefeated. For the longest time, it felt like LeBron James had the closest chance of staving off time the inevitable. Over the last few years, though… the Los Angeles Lakers star’s play has been slowly but surely declining in the last few years. He’s still pretty good, but if we’re being honest… the days of super-LeBron are long gone by now.

At this point in his career, LeBron James has to be considering retirement at this point… right? The Lakers star is 40 years old, playing for over 20 years in the league. At least one former NBA legend wants LeBron to retire… but not for malicious reasons. Barkley does not want James to go through the path most aging legends go.

“I hope he retires soon because I hated the way I retired… Your ego says you can still do it… I don’t want to see any great players play when they’re past their prime.”

So many old legends retire way past their expiration date, if that makes sense. Lakers fans don’t even need to look that far. Kobe Bryant’s final game was electric, but fans forget that before that game, Mamba was basically a shell of himself. Countless other stars go down this path.

Now granted, LeBron is far from late-stage Kobe at this point in his career. He’s still an effective focal point for a team that’s consistently in the playoffs. Chuck also isn’t implying that the Lakers star retire now or in the next year. It’s just that Chuck seems to not want to see LeBron play bad basketball just because he thinks he can once his play inevitably declines.

    Lakers’ direction for the future

After the disappointing end to their 2024 season, the Lakers’ future is in disarray. There are questions about whether LeBron will stay with the team or not next season. With Darvin Ham out of the picture, it’s fair to wonder if other players might leave as well. D’Angelo Russell is one of the many Lakers that could be out of the picture next year.

At the very least, the Lakers seem to be consistent playoff players year in and year out. When you have a team with as much history as LA, though, a postseason isn’t enough. The closest LA got to winning a championship after their bubble run was last year, when they went all the way to the Western Conference Finals. Unfortunately, they got swept that year by the eventual champions Denver Nuggets.

With the highs of their success in 2023, the Lakers came into this season with high expectations. Unfortunately, those expectations quickly proved to be too high. Between the insanely competitive West in 2024 and the Lakers just crashing back to Earth, the team just couldn’t string together a consistent winning streak. For most of the season, they were stuck fighting in the Play-In Tournament range.

The Lakers were able to make it out of the Play-In Tournament. The problem for LA? They were up against the same Nuggets team that eliminated them last year. Predictably, the lowly Lakers were bounced in a gentleman’s sweep.

30K Lakers Fans Vote On Who They’d Want Back In LA: 13% Of Fans Don’t Want LeBron James…

A surprising 13 percent of 30,000 Lakers fans do not want the team to re-sign LeBron James

30K Lakers Fans Vote On Who They'd Want Back In LA: 13% Of Fans Don't Want LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers have some big decisions to make this offseason, in terms of re-signing players. Quite a few on their roster could be headed to free agency in the summer and about 30,000 fans were asked who they’d want to see back. Quite shockingly, 13 percent of them did not want LeBron James to be re-signed.

    1. LeBron James – 87%-13% (Yes-No)

    2. Max Christie – 80%-20% (Yes-No)

    3. Taurean Prince – 59%-41% (Yes-No)

    4. D’Angelo Russell – 55%-45% (Yes-No)

    5. Jaxson Hayes – 55%-45% (Yes-No)

    6. Christian Wood – 43%-57% (Yes-No)

    7. Spencer Dinwiddie – 40%-60% (Yes-No)

    8. Cam Reddish -39%-61% (Yes-No)

You do have to wonder what on earth was going through the minds of that 13 percent. If LeBron, who has a player option worth $51.4 million for 2024-25, leaves the Lakers this summer, any chance of them winning a championship in the near future goes with him.

James was, at worst, their second-best player in this 2023-24 campaign and ended the regular season with averages of 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. The 39-year-old played well in that first-round series against the Denver Nuggets as well and the Lakers need him back.

As for the rest, Christie being that high isn’t all that surprising. The Lakers fans have held him in very high regard and were disappointed that former head coach Darvin Ham didn’t play him at all against the Nuggets. Christie will be a restricted free agent this summer and I would expect the Lakers to bring him back.

I am a bit surprised that Prince got that much support, considering how much stick he got from the fanbase throughout the season. The 30-year-old was the Lakers’ best player off the bench against the Nuggets and that perhaps played a role there.

While Prince played well against Denver, for the most part, Russell did not. The 28-year-old showed once again, that he cannot be relied upon in the playoffs. Had the fans been asked to vote when the regular season ended, Russell certainly would have gotten a lot more love.

Hayes was the only other player to be above 50 percent and I was taken aback by that. The big man had his moments in the second half of the campaign, but I think the Lakers need someone better than him in that backup role.

As for the three under 50 percent, I think the only surprise there was that 40 percent of the voters actually wanted Dinwiddie back. He was so ineffective after the Lakers signed him mid-season and I don’t believe he should be re-signed.

NBA Fans React To The Fan Votes

The fan polling results went viral on X and NBA fans had some interesting reactions to it.

One said LeBron should have been at 100 percent.

A fan can’t believe how many people want Russell back.

One felt 40 percent for Dinwiddie was far too high.

A fan wildly claimed that 55 percent of Lakers fans want to lose, based on the voting for Russell.

One was shocked that so many wanted Taurean Prince back.

It will be interesting to see how many of them are brought back. It has been reported that the Lakers are open to offering LeBron a $164 million extension and drafting Bronny James, so they want the 20-time All-Star to stay. As for the rest, only time will tell.

Grading The LeBron James' Lakers Era So Far

Since arriving in Los Angeles, LeBron James has been a focal point of the Lakers’ ambitions and narratives, carrying both the weight of expectations and the spotlight of Hollywood. With the Lakers’ recent first-round departure from the playoffs, falling 4-1 to the Denver Nuggets, it’s time to reflect on LeBron’s journey with the team.

From championship highs to disappointing lows, this era has been a rollercoaster of emotions and results. In this article, we’ll dive into LeBron’s tenure with the Lakers, examining the impact of his leadership on and off the court, the team’s playoff performances, and the overall direction of the franchise under his star power.

2018-19 NBA Season – Missed Playoffs

Regular Season Record: 37-45 (10th in the Western Conference)

LeBron James’ inaugural season with the Los Angeles Lakers marked a significant shift for both the player and the franchise, though it didn’t quite go as planned. James, who had reached the NBA Finals eight consecutive times with the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, faced new challenges in the Western Conference. The Lakers, filled with young talents and high expectations, struggled to find consistent chemistry and were plagued by injuries throughout the season. LeBron himself was not immune; he missed a career-high 27 games due to a groin injury suffered on Christmas Day, which significantly impacted the team’s performance and playoff hopes.

When he was on the court, LeBron still performed at a high level, averaging 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. Despite his efforts, the Lakers often looked outmatched and out of sync, particularly in clutch situations. The team’s defense also suffered, finishing the season ranked 21st in defensive rating.

This season didn’t live up to the hype surrounding LeBron’s big move to LA. Missing the playoffs was a rare miss for LeBron and really highlighted the struggles and growing pains the Lakers went through.

2019-20 NBA Season – NBA Champions

Regular Season Record: 52-19 (1st in the Western Conference)

LeBron James’ second year with the Los Angeles Lakers turned the narrative completely around from his first season. The key offseason move that brought Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and multiple draft picks transformed the Lakers into a powerhouse. The synergy between LeBron and Davis was evident from the start, making the Lakers a top contender. They finished the regular season leading the Western Conference and ranked third overall in the league.

However, the season faced unprecedented disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a suspension of play in March. The league resumed in July in a bubble at Disney World, where the Lakers found their stride and dominated the competition. Throughout the regular season, LeBron put up impressive numbers, averaging 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and led the league with 10.2 assists per game, showcasing his versatility and leadership.

Once in the playoffs, the Lakers showcased their dominance by beating the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, overcoming the Houston Rockets in the semifinals, and defeating the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. Each series highlighted the Lakers’ unmatched depth and LeBron’s critical role in pivotal moments.

In the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat, LeBron’s experience was invaluable. He averaged 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game across the six-game series. His performance not only led the Lakers to their 17th NBA title but also earned him the Finals MVP, marking his fourth Finals MVP award. This victory tied the Lakers with the Boston Celtics for the most championships in NBA history.

The 2019-20 season was a resounding triumph. Capturing the NBA championship in one of the most challenging seasons ever, due to the circumstances of the pandemic and the bubble environment, was a testament to the team’s resilience and LeBron’s leadership. His ability to perform at an MVP level in the playoffs and lead his team to victory under such unique and stressful conditions secured a top grade for the season. This year not only restored the Lakers as a premier franchise but also cemented LeBron’s legacy as one of the all-time greats in basketball history.

2020-21 NBA Season – First Round Exit

Regular Season Record: 42-30 (7th in the Western Conference)

Following their championship season, expectations remained high for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Nonetheless, the 2020-21 season was fraught with challenges, most notably injuries. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis faced significant time on the sidelines due to health issues; LeBron missed 27 games due to a high ankle sprain, and Davis was out for a large part of the season with calf and Achilles tendon injuries. These setbacks disrupted the team’s rhythm and chemistry, significantly affecting their performance and seeding going into the playoffs.

Despite these difficulties, the Lakers managed to secure the seventh seed in the Western Conference through the play-in tournament, where they defeated the Golden State Warriors in a tightly contested game. LeBron’s leadership and a crucial long-range three-pointer in the final minute were pivotal in clinching the game.

In the playoffs, the Lakers faced the Phoenix Suns, who were led by the dynamic duo of Devin Booker and Chris Paul. The series exposed the Lakers’ vulnerabilities, particularly their depth issues and the ongoing fitness concerns of their star players. After taking an initial series lead, the Lakers struggled to maintain consistency, and with Davis re-aggravating his groin injury in Game 4, their fate was all but sealed. The Suns capitalized on this, taking the series 4-2.

LeBron, despite the challenges, averaged 23.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game during the series, showcasing his all-around abilities but falling short of his usual dominant playoff impact.

The 2020-21 season ended in disappointment for the Lakers, marking a stark contrast to their championship run just a year earlier. Injuries played a significant role, and the team’s inability to consistently perform at a high level without their key stars highlighted the need for greater depth and durability. The season underscored the limits of relying heavily on stars who were battling through significant physical challenges.

    Grade: C

2021-22 NBA Season – Missed Playoffs

Regular Season Record: 33-49 (11th in the Western Conference)

In the 2021-22 season, the Los Angeles Lakers made a significant offseason move aiming to reshape their roster around LeBron James and Anthony Davis by acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. This trade, which sent Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and a future draft pick to Washington, was intended to form a new “big three.” The Lakers anticipated that Westbrook’s high energy and ability to produce triple-doubles would mesh well with LeBron and Davis, adding a new dynamic to their team.

However, the season did not unfold as the Lakers had hoped. Integrating Westbrook into the lineup proved challenging, with notable issues in on-court fit and chemistry. Westbrook’s ball-dominant style clashed with LeBron’s playmaking role, leading to disjointed offensive performances. Moreover, Anthony Davis struggled with injuries throughout the season, significantly limiting his contribution and impacting the team’s overall performance.

The Lakers faced difficulties in establishing consistency, with the team struggling to adapt to the new roster dynamics. Their defensive performance was lackluster, and the team often appeared out of sync, particularly in crucial moments of games. These issues contributed to a disappointing regular season, where the Lakers finished with a 33-49 record, missing the playoffs entirely and ending up 11th in the Western Conference.

LeBron, despite these challenges, maintained robust averages of 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, showcasing his enduring skill and leadership under trying circumstances.

The 2021-22 season was a significant disappointment for the Lakers, failing to meet the heightened expectations set by the arrival of Westbrook and the existing star power of LeBron and Davis. The team’s inability to gel and the persistent injury issues highlighted serious flaws in both roster construction and strategic planning. This season underscored the need for a thorough reassessment of the Lakers’ approach to building a supportive and effective team around LeBron.

    Grade: D

2022-23 NBA Season – Western Conference Finals Exit

Regular Season Record: 43-39 (7th in the Western Conference)

The 2022-23 NBA season marked a significant turnaround for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. After a series of roster adjustments following the departure of Russell Westbrook, the Lakers aimed to build a more cohesive unit around LeBron. This year, they achieved a level of team synergy that had been missing in previous seasons, leading to improved results.

Throughout the regular season, the Lakers experienced ups and downs but ultimately secured a more respectable record of 43-39, showing progress from their past struggles. LeBron James continued to defy age-related expectations, leading the team with impressive averages of 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists. His leadership on and off the court was instrumental in navigating the team through the competitive Western Conference.

During the playoffs, the Lakers first faced the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round. They secured a series win against the Grizzlies with a 4-2 record, advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals, where they faced a formidable Golden State Warriors team. The Lakers managed to eliminate the Warriors in six games, showing strong performances and clutch plays that highlighted their potential and resilience under pressure.

However, their journey ended in the Western Conference Finals, where they faced the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers were swept by the Nuggets in a 4-0 series. Despite the sweep, reaching the Western Conference Finals marked a notable achievement for the team, especially considering their performance in the regular season and their journey through the playoffs.

LeBron James played a pivotal role throughout the Lakers’ playoff run, with standout performances that included scoring, playmaking, and leadership on the court. The team’s progress to the Western Conference Finals, despite being eventually outmatched by the Nuggets, was a testament to their improved cohesion and strategic adjustments made throughout the season

The 2022-23 season was a step in the right direction for the Lakers. While they did not achieve the ultimate goal of an NBA championship, the progress made from a play-in berth to a Western Conference Finals appearance was commendable. The season reaffirmed LeBron’s status as an elite player capable of leading a team deep into the playoffs. It also underscored the need for the Lakers to continue refining their roster to support LeBron in the remaining years of his career, aiming for sustained success and possibly another championship run.

2023-24 NBA Season – First Round Exit

Regular Season Record: 47-35 (7th in the Western Conference)

The 2023-24 NBA season for the Los Angeles Lakers was marked by improvements and heightened expectations after their previous Western Conference Finals appearance. The Lakers finished the regular season with a record of 47-35, placing them seventh in the Western Conference.

LeBron James continued to showcase his all-around skills, averaging 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game, demonstrating his enduring impact on the court. Anthony Davis also played a crucial role, with 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

In the playoffs, the Lakers faced the Denver Nuggets in the first round. Despite their efforts and the high hopes pinned on them, the Lakers were eliminated in a tightly contested series that went to five games. Their season ended with a narrow 108-106 loss in Game 5 with a Jamal Murray game-winning shot, underlining the challenges they still faced in matchups against top-tier teams.

The 2023-24 season showed promise and was a step up from the previous seasons, evidenced by the Lakers’ solid regular season performance and the competitive nature of their playoff games. However, the first-round exit was a reminder of the gaps that still exist between the Lakers and the championship contenders. The playoff outcome emphasized the need for ongoing adjustments and perhaps a deeper bench to support their key players during critical moments of high-stakes matches.

    Grade: B-

Overall Grade Of LeBron’s Lakers Era: A

LeBron James’ stint with the Lakers has been nothing short of transformative. Over the past six years, not only did he clinch an NBA championship in the 2019-20 season, breaking a decade-long drought for the Lakers, but he also led the team to an In-Season Tournament victory in 2023-24. These accomplishments highlight a period of resurgence for the Lakers, firmly re-establishing them as contenders in the league.

Throughout his tenure, LeBron has been the linchpin for the Lakers, melding young talents with experienced players and consistently delivering high-performance play. He adapted to different roles as needed, guiding the team through both regular seasons and playoffs with his strategic play and leadership. Even with challenges like injuries and significant roster changes, his ability to inspire and elevate his teammates has been a constant.

It’s worth noting that LeBron’s era with the Lakers isn’t over yet. Although he might opt out of his player option and become a free agent, signs point to him likely staying with the team. This ongoing journey means LeBron still has chapters to write in his Lakers story, promising more opportunities to bolster his already impressive legacy.

By any measure, LeBron’s impact on the Lakers deserves an ‘A’. His time in LA has not only added another championship banner but has also rejuvenated the franchise, keeping them in the championship conversation and setting high standards for the team’s future campaigns.

Wаrrіors’ forwаrd Drаymond Green reѕрondѕ to bіzаrre сommentѕ from rіvаl GM.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green isn’t known to mince words, and his latest target is none other than the Phoenix Suns’ General Manager, James Jones. Jones recently made some eyebrow-raising comments about Kevin Durant, suggesting the Suns are the first team truly maximizing his potential. Green, ever the fiery competitor, took serious issue with that claim.

Green finds Jones’ statement “baffling” considering his experience playing against Durant in the 2017 NBA Finals. Back then, Jones was part of the Cleveland Cavaliers team that got thoroughly dismantled by Durant and the Golden State Warriors. In that series, Durant earned Finals MVP honors by averaging a staggering 35.2 points on a scorching 55.6% shooting.

Green emphasizes his point by asking, “how much more could you maximize a player than numbers like that?” He further highlights Durant’s dominant performance in the following year’s Finals sweep against the same Cavaliers.

While Durant’s scoring average dipped slightly in the Suns’ recent first-round exit, Green argues it’s a stretch to claim he wasn’t utilized effectively. Suggesting Durant hasn’t reached his peak potential at this stage in his career is, according to Green, “almost disrespectful” to his incredible accomplishments.

This exchange reignites the debate about maximizing superstars. Did the Suns truly unlock Durant’s full potential, or is Green right in calling Jones’ comments “baffling?”  Only time, and perhaps Durant’s future performance, will tell.

He joked about making her a unique gift.

Jason Kelce may be retired from the NFL, but the former Philadelphia Eagles star has been keeping busy. He co-hosts his wildly popular podcast New Heights with his brother and fellow NFL star Travis Kelce and is gearing up to head to ESPN as an on-air host. Between his different commitments, Kelce let one important occasion slip through the cracks: his wedding anniversary.

Jason and Kylie Kelce got married on April 14, 2018. When speaking with his brother Travis on the May 1 episode of New Heights, Jason admitted that he was so busy with work that he forgot to get his wife an anniversary gift.

“Don’t ask Kylie! I am a bad gift planner and giver,” Jason said honestly about his mom’s recent comments that boys are often not good gift givers on Mother’s Day. “I can’t be good at dancing and be good at gift giving. I can only have one of those,” he added.

“I owe Kylie an anniversary gift,” he confessed. “I’m almost a month post-due on that. We were doing the Cincinnati live show [on April 11] and it distracted me.”

“I gotta come big with something,” he resolved, to which Travis had the suggestion to make her a sword. “I mean, I don’t think she’d be into it,” Jason said at first, though he then realized it’s better than nothing. “Right now, a sword is definitely better than what I’ve currently gotten her.”

“Now I gotta get it to Kylie before this episode airs on [May 1]. So I kind of [need to] move fast on this sword,” he concluded.

Between putting Kylie on the spot for an Irish dance and not giving an anniversary gift, Jason should consider himself a lucky guy these days.

Steрhen Curry, the NBA’ѕ аll-tіme leаder іn three-рointers mаde, fіndѕ hіmѕelf сhаsing а unіque reсord held by hіѕ own teаmmаte. Deѕрite hіѕ reіgn аtoр the саreer leаderboаrd, Golden Stаte Wаrrіors ѕtаr Klаy Thomрѕon boаѕtѕ the reсord for moѕt three-рointers іn а ѕіngle gаme.

Thomрѕon’ѕ hіѕtorіc nіght саme іn 2018, where he went off for а ѕсorсhing 14 three-рointers аgаіnst the Chісago Bullѕ. Thіѕ offenѕіve exрloѕion рroрelled the Wаrrіors to а сonvіnсіng 149-124 vісtory.

In а reсent іntervіew on the NBA’ѕ YouTube сhаnnel (vіа ClutсhPoints), Curry аddreѕѕed the рoѕѕibility of ѕurрaѕѕing Thomрѕon’ѕ reсord. “I got 12 two or three tіmeѕ I thіnk, or ѕomethіng lіke thаt. And 13 onсe, ѕo 14 іѕ іn the саrds but I’m hаррy thаt he’ѕ the one thаt hаѕ the reсord. And I’m сhаsing nobody elѕe.”

Curry hаѕ fаllen juѕt ѕhort of Thomрѕon’ѕ mаrk on multірle oссаsions. He’ѕ ѕрlaѕhed 13 three-рointers іn а gаme аgаіnst the New Orleаnѕ Pelісans (2016) аnd reасhed 12 threeѕ fасing the Oklаhomа Cіty Thunder (2016). Whіle theѕe feаtѕ hіghlіght hіѕ іnсredіble ѕhootіng рroweѕѕ, Curry hаѕ аlѕo remаrkаbly асhieved the feаt of knoсkіng down 11 three-рointers іn а ѕіngle gаme а ѕtаggering 11 tіmeѕ, ассording to StаtMuѕe.

Deѕрite turnіng 36 thіѕ yeаr, Curry remаіns а ѕсoring mасhine wіth рlenty of gаѕ left іn the tаnk. It wouldn’t be а ѕurрriѕe to ѕee hіm eruрt for а reсord-tyіng or even record-breaking рerformаnce іn the neаr future.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman admits Jason Kelce is ‘irreplaceable’ as he opens up on the team’s plans to find a successor

Roseman, who’s been in his role since 2010 despite also being the organization’s executive vice president for the last five years, appeared on ESPN to talk about the Eagles’ approach to finding a successor to Kelce, who was instrumental in Philly’s famous ‘tush push’ on offense these last few seasons, as well as the Super Bowl-winning team in 2017.

‘How do you replace a guy like that?’ asked co-host of the Pat McAfee Show A.J. Hawk about Kelce. ‘Can you talk a little bit about what he actually meant to that franchise and the people there and everything about it because that guy is just… a real gem. He seems to be somebody I feel like from all corners of the Earth you have to love that dude.’

‘The best and you don’t replace that,’ Roseman replied. ‘And I think that it would be disingenuous to even pretend that we’re going to replace Jason Kelce. The person and the player. And I mean this is a first ballot HOFer, both on and off the field.

And so, I think for us we gotta continue to build the team. It’s the ultimate team game to understand that he is a huge loss.’

  • Jason Kelce and Travis share their Mother’s Day intentions after their mother criticizes their inadequate gift-giving abilities

Jason Kelce and Travis share their Mother’s Day intentions after their mother criticizes their inadequate gift-giving abilities

It seems like being called out by your own mother is just the kind of motivation one needs to get a great Mother’s Day gift for your mom and wife this year.

Jason and Travis Kelce’s mother Donna Kelce was on the Today Show to show off some of her favorite ideas for Mother’s Day presents, and America’s football mom was asked if her sons are good gift givers when it comes to the holiday.

Mama Kelce had no shame in putting her sons on blast for their crappy gift-giving skills.

“Boys usually are not,” she said. “I’m very rarely in the same place they are on Mother’s Day because it’s their offseason, so they’re off and running and doing their own thing. But that’s OK, I’ve had so many blessings that I don’t even care.”

And what’s worse? The brothers couldn’t deny it.

The former Philadelphia Eagles star lineman and the current Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end reacted to their mom’s appearance on the show on their latest episode of “New Heights,” released May 1, and acknowledged their lack of talent when it comes to choosing Mother’s Day gifts.

“Mom was on the Today show to share some Mother’s Day gift ideas, and she was also asked if the two of us are good at Mother’s Day gifts. Are we gift-givers?” Travis Kelce asked.

“Don’t ask Kylie,” Jason Kelce said, referring to his wife. “I am a bad gift planner and giver.”

It seems the older Kelce sibling is so bad at gift-giving – unlike Kylie apparently – that he’s a month late on an anniversary gift for her as well.

Since the two have been married for six years, it’s traditionally their iron anniversary. With that in mind, Travis Kelce went on to suggest he have a sword made for his wife for either occasion, which led Jason Kelce to search for somewhere he could obtain a custom sword between the time the episode was recorded and when it aired.

“At least she was honest, and she didn’t just keep us like we’re unhuman,” Travis Kelce said about their mother. “You’ve got to be [expletive] at something.”

“I can’t be good at dancing and be good at gift giving. I can only have one of those,” Jason Kelce joked.

“We should just send Mom gifs of us dancing for Mother’s Day,” Travis Kelce suggested.

“For a gift, you’re going to get a gif,” Jason Kelce replied.

“What do you get a woman that has everything?” Travis Kelce wondered out loud.

Jason Kelce said he usually gets Kylie hydrangeas, chocolates, and a card. Meanwhile, his mom usually receives “a heartfelt Mother’s Day text.”

Fortunately, this year will be different for their mother.

“Mom, we’re going to figure it out,” Travis Kelce said. “This year you’re getting it because you called us out, and now if you get too much stuff, it’s your fault. Love you.”
