Why Travis Kelce Skipped the 2024 Met Gala

Fans had hoped to see Travis Kelce make his Met Gala debut tonight alongside girlfriend Taylor Swift, but the evening has come and gone without a single sighting of the couple.

While Kelce has yet to comment on his absence from fashion’s biggest night, it’s likely the NFL star decided to skip the event since Swift wouldn’t be there. The singer is in the throes of preparations for the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour. Starting Thursday, she will play four consecutive shows at Paris’s La Défense Arena. With the volume of performances as well as rehearsals and travel time, it’s probable Swift simply couldn’t fit the Met Gala into her busy schedule—leading Kelce to also skip the annual event.

If they had attended, tonight would have marked the Kansas City Chief tight end’s first time ever at the Met Gala, as well as the couple’s first time walking a red carpet together.

Still, fans aren’t lacking for Kelce and Swift sightings. The two have supported each other on the sidelines of their own respective events, with Swift cheering on Kelce during the Super Bowl in February (which he and the Chiefs won) and Kelce dancing in the VIP tent during the Eras Tour. Most recently, they brought their romance to Coachella, where they were joined by several of Swift’s A-list friends, like Jack Antonoff and and Ice Spice.

At a pre–Super Bowl press conference, Kelce opened up about celebrating his wins off the field with his close loved ones, including Swift. “It’s another memory in the journey that we get to cherish, man,” he said. “I’m fortunate that I got all the support I need off the field. It gives me a reason to play that much harder.”

The Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers will play each other in the Eastern Conference semifinals of the NBA Playoffs for the ninth time.

Previewing Celtics vs Cavs Round 2 | 2024 NBA Playoffs - YouTube

With a victory over the Magic in Game 7 on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland, the Cavaliers punched their ticket to the next round. Since winning Game 5 of their series against the Miami Heat in a landslide on Wednesday night, Boston has been waiting.

TD Garden will host Game 1 of the Celtics vs. Cavaliers on Tuesday night.

Cavaliers at Celtics during the regular season

Throughout the regular season, the home team prevailed in all three meetings between the Celtics and the Cavaliers, winning two of them.

Cavaliers vs. Celtics: Boston should be able to exploit Cleveland's flaws

In mid-December, the teams traveled to Boston for two games over the course of three nights, with the Celtics winning both games. In the first game, all five Boston starters scored in double digits, with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way with 25 points apiece. Both teams had good three-point shooting percentages (40.9 percent for Boston and 42.2 percent for Cleveland). The Celtics’ offensive strategy that night included more than just the three-ball, as Tatum and Brown each reached the free-throw line nine times. Cleveland only had nine free throws and six makes in the charity stripe, while Boston went an incredible 26 for 26.

With 21 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks in that game, Kristaps Porzingis was a major asset for Boston. A few nights later, Tatum led the C’s to a 116-107 victory with a team-high 27 points. He scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. Donovan Mitchell of Cleveland scored the most points (30) despite the team’s defeat.

First loss in a month: 10 takeaways from Celtics/Cavs - CelticsBlog

On March 5 at the Rocket Mortgage Field House, Cleveland defeated Boston for the only time, and it was a significant victory for the Cavaliers. Arriving on an 11-game winning streak and fresh off a 53-point victory over the Warriors, the Cavaliers decisively ended the Celtics’ winning run by rallying from a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

That night, Dean Wade—not Dwyane Wade—scored 20 points with five three-pointers in the fourth quarter to lead the Cavaliers to an incredible victory. Wade outscored the Celtics on his own. Despite letting up in the last quarter and only scoring 17 points, the Celtics still had a chance to win.

As time ran out and Tatum gained possession of the ball, he looked to foul Darius Garland while he was trying to make a game-winning (you guessed it) fadeaway. However, the Cavs contested the call, and referees overturned it after determining that Tatum’s leg, not Garland’s, was what made contact.

Despite Mitchell not playing and Evan Mobley departing the game early due to an ankle injury, the Cavaliers prevailed, 105-104.

Stats from the Celtics-Cavaliers regular season

With an average of 26 points per game during the regular season, Tatum spearheaded the Celtics’ offensive attack against the Cavaliers. However, he wasn’t particularly effective versus Cleveland, hitting only 35.7 percent from three and 38.7 percent overall. To score those 26 points in a game, he need 20.7 shot attempts.

NBA on TNT on X: "Cavs vs. Celtics in the Second Round Who you got advancing?! https://t.co/spBsAzRgFi" / X

Against the Cavs, Brown scored 22.7 points per game during the regular season, which put him second on the Celtics, but he was far more effective as he connected on 49.1 percent of his attempts. Brown’s three-ball was not as effective; he hit it at a pace of only 35.3 percent.

However, the Boston backcourt proved unstoppable from downtown against the Cavaliers, as Derrick White made 50% of his three-pointers and Jrue Holiday connected on 42.9 percent of his long-range attempts. After scoring 63 points in the previous two games versus Miami and shooting 57.7 percent for the series, White is currently on fire.

The Celtics will obviously be without Porzingis for this series, which means they will be depleted of manpower up front against a very skilled Cleveland frontcourt. In his three games against the Cavs, he averaged 21 points and eight rebounds, but now it will be up to Al Horford to step up in the paint.

During the regular season, the Celtics averaged 120.6 points per game; but, in their three games versus the Cavaliers, they only managed 113.3.

NBA playoffs: Cavaliers top Magic in Game 7, will face Celtics

In his two games versus Boston, Mitchell was quite effective, averaging 30 points on 50% shooting. With 20.7 points and 7.0 assists per game, Garland was a menace, and Caris LeVert is a potent scorer who averaged 15.7 points on 48.6 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from three-point range in his three games versus Boston.

Just to let Boston supporters know, Max Strus, who was extremely bothersome against them during his two previous postseasons as a member of the Heat, will now be trying to do the same thing as a Cavalier.

By no means will Boston have an easy series, especially without Porzingis and up against a very stingy Cleveland defense. Mitchell also has the ability to take over a game at any time. It will be exciting to see the backcourt competition, especially if Joe Mazzulla puts Holiday in the game.

However, the Celtics had a few nights off before this match began and were confined on Wednesday night. With that, they should be able to defeat the Cavs in five or six games and make it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third consecutive year.

Celtics comeback win over Cavaliers breeds playoff-like atmosphere - CelticsBlog

Cavaliers against. Celtics postseason pastAlthough the Cavaliers have won the last three encounters, the Celtics and Cavaliers have split their previous eight postseason games: a first-round sweep in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2017 and 2018, as well as in 2015. When these two teams last faced off, Brown was in his second NBA season and Tatum was a rookie. The Celtics narrowly missed making it to the NBA Finals. (Where the Warriors would have smoked them.)

In those three prior meetings, the Cavaliers did have a player by the name of LeBron, and it definitely helped them win.

In the postseason, the Cavaliers were defeated by the Celtics in 1976, 1985, 2008, and 2010. Every time Boston defeated the Cavaliers in the postseason, they advanced to the NBA Finals and took home titles in 1976 and 2008.

Cavaliers vs. Celtics: Boston should be able to exploit Cleveland's flaws

Nevertheless, Boston reserve forward Oshae Brisset thought the situation was interesting enough to share on Twitter, writing “hear the chants” along with one of those emojis that covers one’s eyes on X, the former Twitter. Then he removed it, which isn’t very helpful once enough people have seen it.

In the Celtics’ first-round triumph against the Miami Heat, Brisset played six minutes. He is also not anticipated to play a significant role in the matchup with Cleveland. Or maybe that’s not the case now that a regular chant has roused a sleeping monster.

Though it seems like most people are already acting sensibly when it comes to declaring in-arena that they want to play whatever team is next on the schedule, there aren’t really any guidelines in place for this. which is to say, everything is well.

Nothing is wrong with it at all, and nobody is going to be the first to start a “we’re probably going to lose chant” at that very moment just because they might need a ride home from a friend when the final buzzer sounds.

Almost everyone who publicly said that they “wanted Bama” later came to regret it. It’s merely a statement you make.

The Celtics will be missing one of its top players, as Kristaps Porzingis, a 2018 NBA All-Star, has been declared ineligible for the game.

Furthermore, Porzingis was absent from Game 5 against the Miami Heat, making this his consecutive second absence from the roster.

The Boston Celtics have released the “#NEBHInjuryReport” for tomorrow’s game against Cleveland:

Kristaps Porzingis is unavailable due to a right soleus strain.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis (calf) ruled out for Game 5 vs. Heat | NBA.com

Porzingis, who is currently in his inaugural season with the Boston team, maintained an average of 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. He achieved these statistics by shooting 51.6% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point line over 57 games.

On Monday, head coach Joe Mazzulla addressed the topic of Porzingis at a media session (h/t Celtics on NBC Sports Boston).

Mazzulla observed an improvement in his walking ability. One notable characteristic of K.P. is his dedication to investing time and effort. Every day, he consistently demonstrates a strong sense of purpose and diligently invests effort to ensure his preparedness.

Regardless of whether he is participating in a game or recovering from an injury. I recently seen him exhibiting improved mobility, but I have confidence in his strong commitment to his job and I am aware that he is doing maximum effort to expedite his recovery.

  • Kansas City Chief’s Travis Kelce Reveals: The Tourist Destinations That Stole His Heart!

Kansas City Chief’s Travis Kelce Reveals: The Tourist Destinations That Stole His Heart!

    Travis Kelce’s Favorite Offseason Getaways

Travis Kelce may be one of the NFL’s top tight ends, but when the football season ends, he likes nothing more than escaping to some tropical paradise destinations around the world. As the star player for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce spends his winters working hard on the field. But come the offseason, he enjoys relaxing and recharging by international travel. In interviews, Kelce has shared some of his favorite places to visit when he has time off from football. Let’s take a closer look at some of Travis Kelce’s top travel spots.

    Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

One of Kelce’s go-to destinations is the beach resort town of Cabo San Lucas, located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. “Cabo is always a good time,” Kelce said. “The weather is beautiful, the beaches are amazing, and there’s no shortage of things to do.” Indeed, Cabo offers a perfect tropical escape. Its coastline features dramatic rock formations meeting the sea and stretches of powdery white sand beaches. The ocean water stays warm year-round, making it an ideal place for water sports like swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and boating.

Cabo is also known for its lively nightlife scene. Along the famous Medano Beach, many bars and clubs pump music late into the night. Some of Kelce’s favorite spots include the Mango Deck, where DJs play dance music as the sun sets over the ocean, and the Sandbar, a large beach club that gets packed on weekends. For dining, Kelce recommends fresh seafood restaurants right on the water as well as upscale steakhouses in town. He also enjoys day trips from Cabo, such as exploring the old fishing village of La Cabana or swimming with whale sharks in the nearby town of La Paz.

With its combination of beautiful natural scenery and fun party atmosphere, it’s no wonder Cabo is a place Kelce returns to again and again. The laidback Mexican vibes provide the perfect escape after a long NFL season. As Kelce said, “There’s nothing like sitting on the beach in Cabo, having a few drinks, and just relaxing.”

    Paris, France

While Cabo offers relaxation in the sun, Kelce’s other favorite destination could not be more different – the historic and culturally rich city of Paris. According to Kelce, visiting Paris was a “bucket list” trip for him. “The food, the art, the history – Paris has it all,” he said. Naturally, Kelce took full advantage of all the city has to offer during his trip.

He started with the top tourist attractions like the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, marveling at the iconic landmarks. But Kelce also enjoyed diving deeper into Parisian culture. He took in world-class art by visiting the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay museums. To learn about French history, Kelce walked through the Palace of Versailles and Notre Dame Cathedral.

For food, Kelce indulged in classic Parisian dishes like croissants, crepes, cheese and charcuterie plates. He dined at cozy bistros as well as upscale restaurants with Michelin stars. And no trip to Paris is complete without wine – Kelce sampled bottles from all over France.

In the evenings, Kelce explored the lively neighborhoods of Montmartre, Le Marais and Saint-Germain. He strolled along the Seine river after dark, taking in the romantic atmosphere. Overall, the cultural immersion left quite an impression. As Kelce put it, “Paris is a city with so much soul. It really is the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited.” His whirlwind tour of Paris highlights showed how much the city has to offer curious travelers.

    Tulum, Mexico

While Cabo offers partying and Paris presents culture, Tulum on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula provides a bohemian tropical vibe that Kelce enjoys. Located on the Caribbean coast, Tulum features stunning beaches with tranquil turquoise water. It’s also home to impressive ancient Mayan ruins, nestled among palm trees. But perhaps most attracting to Kelce is the laidback atmosphere.

“Tulum just has such a cool, chill vibe,” he said. Cafes and restaurants line the main beach drag, serving healthy, organic fare alongside tropical cocktails. Boutique hotels and luxurious beachfront villas dot the scene, many with a zen, eco-chic aesthetic. It’s common to see locals and visitors alike practicing yoga on the sand at sunrise. In the evenings, fire pits and hammocks replace nightclubs as the main social spots.

Kelce spent his days in Tulum relaxing on the beautiful beaches, going for long walks along the shore, and reading or meditating in the calm setting. He also checked out the historic Mayan ruins at Tulum, Coba and Cenote Azul, appreciating the area’s cultural significance. For exercise, Kelce went cycling through the surrounding jungles and mangroves. Nights were low-key, dining on fresh seafood and sipping mezcal while taking in the stars.

“I totally understood why so many people fall in love with Tulum,” Kelce said. With its blend of natural beauty, ancient history and laidback ambiance, it offered the perfect antidote to his normally hectic life. No wonder Kelce makes Tulum a regular offseason destination.

    Fiji

While Mexico provides Kelce with beach escapes in the Americas, he also loves traveling much farther for paradise islands. One of his most unique getaways so far was a trip to the tropical nation of Fiji located in the South Pacific. As Kelce describes it, “Fiji was like being on another planet, in the best way possible.”

He started his Fijian adventure on the main island of Viti Levu, taking in the lush rainforests, waterfalls and volcanic scenery around Nadi. But it was the smaller outer islands that really captivated Kelce. He spent time on beachfront resorts in the Mamanuca Islands, known for stunning white sand and turquoise lagoons. Snorkeling there, Kelce was awestruck by the colorful coral reefs and abundance of tropical fish.

Further afield, Kelce visited the remote Yasawa Islands for a true castaway experience. He went hiking through jungle trails, swam with manta rays, and relaxed in traditional bures – wooden huts built directly over the water. The slow pace of life and beautiful natural surroundings provided a unique cultural immersion.

As Kelce sums it up, “Fiji felt like I was on a permanent vacation. The people were so friendly, the scenery took my breath away on a daily basis, and I was constantly surrounded by crystal clear ocean.” Its combination of seclusion, natural wonders and tropical charm gave Kelce an adventure unlike any other. It’s clear why he counts Fiji among his most special travel memories so far.

    Future Travel Plans

With a roster of international destinations already under his belt, Travis Kelce is always on the lookout for new places to explore during football’s offseason. He has his sights set on destinations like Bali, Indonesia known for its beaches, temples and friendly culture. Kelce also wants to check out Australia and New Zealand to experience the natural beauty of the South Pacific from a new perspective.

Closer to home, Kelce is interested in road trips around the American southwest, taking in national parks in Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. He has talked about sailing in the Caribbean as well. With a lifelong curiosity and sense of adventure, it’s clear Kelce will continue packing in new global adventures for years to come.

Football may be Kelce’s passion and profession during fall and winter. But come spring and summer, you can find him halfway across the world soaking up new cultures, scenery and experiences. Through his travels so far, Kelce has proven himself not just a star athlete but also a global citizen with curiosity about the world. And fans can’t wait to see where his wanderlust takes him next.

Step Inside King James’ Lavish $6.4M Encino Mansion, where he and his family enjoy their wealth

One cannot swing a cat on a tree-lined street in one of Los Angeles’s most coveted zip codes without encountering a lavishly appointed residence owned or rented by a showbiz power broker. And in affluent Encino, the semi-rural San Fernando Valley enclave long favoured by celebrities, a $6.4 million mansion with a gated entrance has housed numerous celebrities.

Currently owned by Canadian recording artist and real estate investor Betty Moon, who acquired the property with her late husband for $3.54 million almost a decade ago, according to tax records, the home has been occupied by Lebron James, Cardi B, Megan Fox, and Machine Gun Kelly at various times. It has also appeared in films and television programmes, such as “Lethal Weapon” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.”

The Mediterranean-style home, originally constructed in 1960 and significantly updated and upgraded since, is situated on more than half an acre of landscaped grounds. The home’s numerous living and entertaining spaces include a double-height sitting room with a fireplace and a double-height formal dining room. These rooms are located beyond the whimsically curvaceous iron gates and circular driveway that lead to a three-tiered fountain.

Glass doors lead to the backyard from the family room, which features a built-in media centre and a wet bar. In the eat-in kitchen, there are modern stainless steel appliances and a large island with an integrated refreshment bar. Other amenities include a card/billiards room, a home theatre with 12 seats, a library/office, and a gym.

An expansive master suite with a double-sided fireplace between the sitting room and bedroom, a fitted walk-in wardrobe, and an oversized marble bathroom with a built-in armoire for bath linens and toiletries is among the spacious bedrooms.

The expansive grounds, which contain over 40 varieties of fruit trees, are equipped with every amenity. In the terraced courtyard, alongside the swimming pool and spa overflow, there is an outdoor kitchen and bar under an awning. On an upper terrace, an open-air pavilion is surrounded by verdant vegetation and flowering plants, and on the terrace above that, there is a sports arena surrounded by a stone balustrade.

Moon owns multimillion-dollar residences in Pacific Palisades, Beverly Hills, and Malibu in southern California. She recently rented Cary Grant’s former property in Holmby Hills for $35,000 per month, according to the New York Post, and Isaac Tigrett, co-founder of the Hard Rock Café and House of Blues franchises, is renting one of her Malibu properties.

The watch is excellent for an NBA great like Anthony Davis not only because of its exclusivity and fresh-from-the-factory ice, but also because of the nickname it swiftly garnered. Following the launching of the watch, collectors began referring to the striped piece with shining subdials as the “Eye of the Tiger.”

2 Kevin Durant Frontrunners Emerge If Suns Trade Him

Kevin Durant requested a trade to the Phoenix Suns a year ago in hopes that he would achieve more success than he had with the Brooklyn Nets.

Unfortunately, thus far, Durant has experienced nothing but frustration at his latest stop.

Not only did his squad get bounced early from the playoffs last season, they suffered a similar fate in 2024 despite going against a very green Minnesota Timberwolves group.

Because of that, many have now taken to wondering whether Durant will once again force an exit from his current situation. Particularly given reports about how unhappy he was with the way he was utilized this past season.

As noted by ClutchPoints, two teams have emerged as legitimate frontrunners for Durant in the event that the Suns opt to trade him.

If Phoenix moves on from Durant, the Heat are the betting favorite to land him with odds of +300, per BetOnline… One of Durant’s most coveted skills is his scoring ability. The 35-year-old comes off a 2023-24 season with averages of 27.1 points per game and 41.3 percent accuracy on three-pointers. Durant would add an immediate scoring boost to Miami,” the report noted.

Should Miami not be able to get the deal done, the Los Angeles Lakers are another team to watch. Their best possible offer for Durant is a matter of public record at this point.

One way or another, it will be interesting to see where Durant goes from here. Will he still be a member of the Suns next year? Time will tell.

  • Spencer Dinwiddie says he would ‘love’ to be back with Lakers next season…

After spending half a season with his hometown Lakers, Spencer Dinwiddie is hopeful that he’ll be able to return next season to continue with the purple and gold.

2024 NBA Playoffs - Los Angeles Lakers v Denver Nuggets

Whatever Spencer Dinwiddie’s expectations for his time in Los Angeles were, he struggled to meet them. Even given the context of joining a team mid-season as a buyout signing and perhaps not having his role maximized this season, Dinwiddie never found a rhythm.

Any potential fit he had on paper never materialized and while he had one of the highlights of the season with his block of Damian Lillard to down the Bucks, it was too many flashes in the pan during his time in Los Angeles.

During his exit interview, Dinwiddie was asked if he would like to return to the Lakers next season and, given the fact he’s from Los Angeles and grew up a Lakers fan, his answer was the obvious one.

“I’m not somebody that necessary gets to call his own shots all the time,” Dinwiddie said. “That’s not my status in the league so we’ll have to see what happens. But if the Lakers want me back, I’d love to be back. Everything I said about this being a childhood dream and being able to play in my hometown, parents at every game, stuff like that, you couldn’t imagine anything better. Also playing alongside arguably the greatest player of all-time, right? There’s nothing really better than that.

“But you know how it is. Lakers are championship or bust so there’s probably going to be changes made and it’s all going to be in an effort to win the title. Obviously, if I’m able to be a part of that, it’ll be another dream come true.”

One-off strong offensive showings gave way to wholly unimpactful playoff performances by season’s end. While he did his best to fit into a role, it came at the cost of him being productive.

In fact, much of his time in purple and gold felt like he was trying too hard to fit in rather than be the player that got him to that point in his career. The Lakers signed Spencer Dinwiddie to be Spencer Dinwiddie and not the player he was trying to be during his tenure.

He also spoke about his time with the Lakers and what he was able to do.

“I came in,” Dinwiddie said, “felt like I was really selfless, bought into a role, tried to play defense to the best of my ability, tried to help out, had some nice moments and we’ll see what the future holds.”

Perhaps the Dinwiddie the Lakers thought they were getting would be worth bringing back. But the one they actually got absolutely is not.

Right now, it’s hard to predict what the Lakers’ backcourt will look like with so many expecting the team to be aggressive in the trade market this summer. The likes of Trae Young and Donovan Mitchell have been mentioned as names the team would target.

On top of that, I’d imagine they’d want to see the likes of Max Christie and Jalen Hood-Schifino step into bigger roles as well. Is there room for Dinwiddie in that case?

Given how his time with the Lakers played out and all the moving parts this summer, it wouldn’t be surprising if this was a half-season-and-done stop for Dinwiddie in purple and gold.
