The scandal that started it all — While the Kardashian-Jenner family already had immense notoriety from Caitlyn’s Olympic status and Kim Kardashian‘s career as a stylist for Paris Hilton, the ‘leak’ of Kim’s sex tape put them in the limelight and caught the public’s attention. Fans speculated that Kim’s mother Kris Jenner was actually at the center of the controversy, releasing the sex tape in order to gain fame. Ray J added fuel to the fire in 2022 when, during an Instagram live, he made the same assertion and even claimed Kris picked which version to release. Kris Jenner denied these claims.

As business moguls, the Kardashians find themselves in advertisements for their own products and models for others’. When Kim launched KKW Beauty in 2017, some of the imagery depicted her with darker skin than most of her other photos. Fans were quick to call her out for Blackfishing and some to go as far as to label her accusations as blackface. Kim denied this was the intent behind the photos, but not long after she was slammed for cultural appropriation when she released Kimono; her shapewear brand that has since been renamed to Skims.

Khloe Kardashian decided to create content centered on her organizational process and called it “Khlo-C-D”, an obvious play on her name and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Fans were not happy at her name choice, considering it to downplay and stereotype the disorder. “OCD is one of the top 10 most debilitating illnesses. You have a huge talent for organizing. You do beautiful work. But, that’s not OCD. You have a huge platform. Use it to bring awareness,” wrote one fan.

Tristan Thompson allegedly cheated on Khloe with Jordyn Woods

Jordyn Woods and Kylie Jenner were known to be best friends

Jordyn Woods was Kylie Jenner‘s absolute best friend. The pair were totally inseparable and she became deeply connected to Kylie’s entire family. However, while Khloe was dating Tristan Thompson, he allegedly cheated on her with Jordyn. This caused an immense divide between Kylie and Jordyn as they appeared to have a drastic falling out. However, the pair have recently been spotted spending time together which could mean their friendship is on the mend.

It’s well-known that the Kardashian-Jenner family loves some plastic surgery. Over the years, they’ve all seemed to have some work done and certain family members have been more honest about it than others. Kylie, for example, originally denied that she got lip filler, but later fessed up to the work. Khloe was trolled by fans when what she viewed as an unflattering photo of herself – as it was filter-free – surfaced and she started to demand its removal. However, telling the Internet to delete something is one way to ensure it says online forever.

In partnership with Pepsi, Kendall Jenner took part in an advertising campaign that seemed to undermine the Black Lives Matter movement. In the video, she handed a police officer a can of Pepsi which was meant to be a sign of goodwill and unity. However, in the wake of repetitive police brutality, she was met with backlash. She said in her apology: “I trusted everyone. I trusted the teams. But after I saw the reaction and I read what people had to say about it, I most definitely saw what went wrong. I was so stuck, and I really didn’t know what to do, that I completely shut down.”
