When asked about their relationship, Anitta didn’t confirm or deny the rumors.

“I really like him. I think he’s such a great person — great artist, very humble. He reminds me a lot of myself when I was his age; he’s 24, I’m 31,” she said.

Anitta also touched on why she isn’t a rush to define this relationship — or any relationship, for that matter.

“I just want to be happy, free, have a good time, be easy,” she said. “Right now I’m not in the moment for anything serious. For many years, I was feeling like, ‘Oh, I need to be in a relationship.’ But nowadays, I understand that I don’t. Everyone has this necessity of putting a name on things, a title on things, but I’m in such a different moment. I just want to enjoy life and have a good time, to be free without having people to give explanations to. I am not trying to tell people, ‘I am this, or I am that.’ I don’t do that with my music. Imagine with a person.”

Anitta, who identifies as bisexual, explained that women often feel pressured to have a partner by their side, and she said it only gets worse once you’re in the spotlight.

“There’s a lot of expectations, like we need to seduce men, we need to make a man want to be our boyfriend, or husband, or whatever. For many years, I was falling for these expectations, and trying to please the desire of the industry to see me with a man,” she said. “Now I’m like, I just want to be happy. And if I’m happy and someone crosses my way and is worth my time, cool. If not … whatever!”
