Sports fans are teeing off on former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown following his disturbing comments about Phoenix Mercury superstar Brittney Griner.
Over the past five years, Antonio Brown has been no stranger to controversy. Nearly three years after playing his final NFL snap, the ex-Pittsburgh Steelers star continues to stir the pot with insulting comments, peculiar claims and unnecessary personal attacks on others.
On X/Twitter, Brown caused more outrage when he wrote, “Brittney Griner is definitely a dude!” in response to a tweet about the WNBA legend and wife, Cherelle, expecting their first child:

Fans quickly came to the defense of Griner and went off on Antonio Brown for the entirely unnecessary comment:
You’re just mad she’s taller than you Shorty 😭

It’s been 18 months since Griner was released from prison in Russia and sent back to the U.S. in a prison exchange with convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout. As Griner continues her dominance on the court, the WNBA icon can now look forward toward an even greater gift: Becoming a mother.
Griner has missed all but two games this season as she continues to recover from a fractured toe on her left foot.
Antonio Brown’s Troublesome Behavior Continues
Antonio Brown last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2021 season. He was released by the team after taking off his jersey and leaving a Week 17 game against the New York Jets following a disagreement about his injury status with the coaching staff.
Brown has continued to endure legal troubles following his playing career. He’s been arrested three times for failing to meet required child support payments. Last month, his CTESPN brand announced that he filed for bankruptcy.
The 35-year-old Brown was on a Hall of Fame trajectory, with seven Pro Bowl nods and a 2010s All-Decade Team selection on his resume. Unfortunately, his never-ending legal issues ended a phenomenal career on the field that will likely keep him out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
