With LeBron James’ future in LA still up in the air, people are trying to predict his decision from any hint they can get. While many believe that he will opt out of his $51.4 million player option and sign an extension with the Lakers, some have even speculated a move to the 76ers. Giving fuel to the Philly rumors, a picture of Bron allegedly having a secret meeting with Sixers head coach Nick Nurse is making the rounds on social media. However, LeBron’s wife Savannah came to her husband’s aid, letting people know about the actual whereabouts of the Lakers superstar.
Laker Nation nearly had a heart attack when a fan posted an image on X of four people having lunch at Sky High in Philly, claiming that it was LeBron James and Nick Nurse. Because the picture was taken from a distance, the faces in the image were not clear enough to figure out if the claim was true. But it did leave everyone concerned about the King potentially leaving LA to play for the Sixers.

But Savannah put an end to those concerns shortly after by sharing an image of herself and LeBron on her Instagram story. While their faces are not in the picture, it shows two people’s arms on IV drips with the caption, “Ozone… A love language.” And Savannah even tagged LBJ in the story. More importantly, the person in the image taken in Philly is unlikely to be LeBron because that would put him at the risk of violating the league’s tampering rules. Being a veteran in the league, he knows that breaking the policy could lead to a $10 million fine for the officials and the league even has the authority to void the free agent signings and trades if found guilty.
A popular podcaster, Spike Eskin, further clarified who everyone mistook as LeBron could be, “It is Daryl, Elton Brand, Nick Nurse and Josh Harris at the Four Seasons. Per source with knowledge of the situation. I am 100% confident.”
LeBron James is likely to be in LA for a special occasion
Apart from the several hints that the person in the image is not LeBron, there is one more reason why many believe he would rather be in LA right now. It’s his younger son Bryce James’ birthday! Yes, it is his 17th, and it is very possible that LBJ is with his family back home to enjoy this special day. Moreover, the entire James family showered Bryce with love and wishes on social media, showcasing it as an important day for each one of them. Even LeBron shared a collage of Bryce as a kid and all grown up as an Instagram story, writing, “A YOUNG KING’S BDAY!!!”
Following in his father’s footsteps, Bronny wished his younger brother on his special day, “Happy bday my dawgggg,” along with a heart emoji. Even Savannah shared an entire post with Bryce’s pictures, captioning, “Happiest Birthday @_justbryce!!! I CAN NOT believe you are 17. Even though you cancelled all of our birthday fun, 🙄 we celebrate you today!! 😂 I love you beyond the universe!! 😘🤗.”
With so much evidence pointing at LeBron being in LA rather than Philly, the viral image with Nick Nurse might have been a false alarm for the Lakers.
