As we head closer to the June 29 deadline for LeBron James’ decision regarding his $51.4 million player option, everyone’s getting anxious thinking about whether or not he will stay in LA. Moreover, the uncertainty has created a lot of noise around the league with everyone coming up with their theory of what LeBron should do next. However, King James seems to be rather unfazed by the speculations as he admitted to be in sync with actor Keanu Reeves’ recent life mantra.
Being the calm and collected personality everyone knows Keanu to be, he recently revealed his mindset at this stage of his life, “I’m at that stage in life where I stay out of discussions. Even if you say 1+1=5, you’re right… have fun.” And LeBron, amid all the chaos, seemed to resonate with this theory as he shared Keanu’s quote on his Instagram story with the caption, “I swear I’m almost there! About 95%. This last 5 gone be a mutha to capture.”
He claimed that he has nearly achieved the zen state just like Keanu. Being the biggest superstar in the league even at age thirty-nine, Bron is constantly the topic of discussion no matter what he does. Even after the Lakers got eliminated by the Nuggets, the first thing reporters asked Bron was if that was the last Lakers game he would play. He refused to indulge in that discussion, “I’m not going to answer that.” And there have been times when he expressed his opinions on social media to silence the ongoing narratives about him.
Just a couple of days ago, he responded to the people who believe he doesn’t want to win anymore, “Do they ever know what they’re talking about?!” He knows that this ‘5%’ will be hard to shed for him.
LeBron James filters through his social media
As LeBron works toward dwelling completely into Keanu’s mantra, he has already started taking small steps toward it, at least through his social media. With most of the trolling and criticism coming through the internet, James has begun filtering through his socials to control what pops up on his feed. Just recently, LeBron unfollowed player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins after he accused him of stealing the thunder away from the NBA finals, catch the live action here, by talking about his time with Kyrie Irving on his podcast.

“Here we go again, [LeBron James] weaseling his way into somebody else’s moment. This is not about you! Your team is at home. You’re so mad and disappointed that you’re not Kyrie Irving’s running mate anymore.” Perkins said. And instead of getting into an argument with him, LeBron realized that it was best if he just unfollowed Perkins to block out his opinions.
Moreover, James reportedly even unfollowed Ben Simmons and Blake Griffin for unknown reasons. But it does show that LeBron is getting more cautious about the people he wants to follow to maintain some peace in his mind amid the noise.
