While new fans of the Kelce brothers are familiar with their professional football careers and their popular podcast, New Heights, they also had just as exciting of a time in college as they played football and lived together at the University of Cincinnati.
After a bunch of their former teammates, roommates and more shared memorable stories of Jason and Travis Kelce‘s time in college with The Athletic, the two took a moment to remember that time of their lives in the newest episode of their podcast.
To say their college adventures sound wild might be an understatement as the two confirmed their friends’ stories, including one in which Jason, as a drunk freshman, ripped the sink out of a teammate’s bathroom at a party.
“That house was so special,” Jason recalled, referring to a house that he shared with Travis and a few other teammates. “The amount of parties and fun we had. I mean, listen, don’t get much better than the times that we were in that hustle.”
Another memorable story the two told was when the team had to practice on St. Patrick’s Day and Jason wasn’t happy about it, so he brought in a bottle of Jameson and drank it on the field, with Travis saying, “Sure enough, we’re getting psyched out by Jason trying to come ‘hydrate’ us and giving us a bottle of Jameson.”
The group of roommates also had a trash can in the middle of their living room that was filled with pizza boxes and more and didn’t have a lid, with the two saying that it “stunk up the entire place.”
But according to Travis, “It was exactly what we needed because we were a bunch of filthy animals.”
Jason began his time at the University of Cincinnati in 2006, while Travis followed close behind in 2008. They smoothly transitioned to the NFL after, with the elder Kelce getting drafted by the Eagles in 2011, and Travis by the Chiefs in 2013.
